That government website is a total mess—honestly, navigating it is like trying to find your way through a corn maze in the dark.

So, a Supreme Court Justice claims they're breaking the law. Makes you wonder what happens if you actually ignore them, right?

What's the deal? They slap you with a fine based on what, exactly?

When those two women in Split were asking yesterday what kind of fine they'd actually get for "threatening a walk," the cops didn't have a single logical answer. Instead, they just went full accusatory, claiming they were disturbing the peace and inciting resistance against police officers... or whatever jargon they use to sound official. In the end, they didn't even go through with the threatening $2667, but they slapped them with some other totally questionable fine and took them in without any protective gear.

So, I guess you should just shut up and walk. That way, they can't claim you're "disturbing the peace."

They can't touch you. Heh. Let those little tyrants choke on it now.

Two different local emergency offices told me "only childcare or elderly care counts as a valid reason." I pretty much tore one of them a new one.

Please let me know if you pull it off; I'm genuinely curious.

Will do. I just gotta figure out if I even need to ask my boss first.
This is insane. When do they actually plan on loosening these rules up?

You can't exactly walk away silently once they've already pulled you over.🤣

Just give him your personal info if he asks. That's it. You don't owe anyone an answer to their questions. Period.

I guess there's no point in getting worked up over it. Honestly, it's probably best just to ignore them.🤣Look, if some guy tries to tell you that you have to head home, just turn around and keep walking. If you do that, he’ll realize you aren't falling for his nonsense, and he'll honestly just lose his cool completely. If you need a way to justify it later, just say he refused to follow direct orders and was disrupting public peace and order. Honestly, proving anything else is just a massive headache.🤣

All of a sudden, there isn't a single case left in Washington County—everyone's miraculously recovered. 👍

Guess the fight against the virus isn't happening on all fronts, including the internet. 🙏
Everyone's cured. 👍

But you better hurry up...
Because the old data is still sitting right there.
https://gdi-online.maps.arcgis.com/a...bfad8db4f64aec
That needs to be wiped too...

They're grouping everything under Washington, D.C. now. Just a week ago, the map showed 3 cases for the local County, and now they've lumped them all into the city totals.

If you're feeling suspicious, maybe just ask a couple of questions?

I'll just pull out my phone. Then let him try to claim I was the one causing a scene.

No fine.

My mom and grandma are staying with me outside of Washington, D.C. because their apartment isn't safe to live in after the earthquake. My mom actually asked a police officer what would happen if she moved back to her permanent residence, and the officer told her she’d have to go into a two-week self-isolation

What a possible? That sounds completely insane to me
If she was just staying with family, and none of us are in quarantine, sick, or coming from some high-risk area—meaning she didn't fly in from another country or anything—then why on earth would there be any isolation?

Honestly, the woman is just talking nonsense. She can head back to her home without any issues at all.

And can I head straight back right away (assuming I actually get a permit)?

No fine.

🙏 I know how it works, but what’s the point of proving it?

Some cop decided to tear my entire car apart for over an hour out of nowhere, even performing an illegal search just because of a minor violation worth $100 and then had the nerve to tell me we were going to sit there all night until I confessed, all over some measly $30 bucks during the New Year period.🙏 They took my phone and iPod, and even ordered me to take off my jacket...

Instead of catching us right when the infraction actually happened, they nabbed me ten minutes later and insisted I was part of a larger group committing the offense based on their "direct observation."🤦

Honestly, I lost it and told them to just write the ticket. Instead of grabbing a beer and moving on, I’m stuck spending the whole night with two guys acting tough because they can't actually prove their claims. All this over freaking $100 🤦
.
To top it all off, the idiot searching my car—checking lights and digging through every single box—didn't even notice I don't carry a first aid kit.🤦 Absolute incompetence.🙄

They won't just detain you for no reason under disturbing the peace.🤣

Get the badge number and call Internal Affairs. Or just call a lawyer, if you've got one handy.

Anthony Jackson2 said:Actually, it is basically the flu—just a strain we have zero immunity or vaccine for.

If I recall correctly, even Berosh mentioned that a standard flu would be way more lethal if we didn't have any existing immunity.

But keep talking—it doesn't matter that you don't have a clue what you're saying. Not that anyone expected anything better from you.

That's just nonsense.

Just because COVID-19 shares symptoms with the common flu doesn't mean it's actually a strain of that virus.

SARS-CoV-2 (the thing that causes COVID-19) is a coronavirus strain, not a strain of the influenza virus.

That's like saying playing chess while you're inside a plane that's currently plummeting toward the ground is much more dangerous than doing extreme sports.

And then you try to use that as an "argument" to claim extreme sports are just as risky as a game of chess. 👍

There is no shame in not knowing something.

And there's no shame in being honest about that ignorance, either.

But to drop two massive errors like that and then immediately try to talk down to a fellow forum member? Honestly, that's even worse than being wrong.

Is it actually possible to travel to Canada right now? I’m dealing with a death in the family—someone very close to me is passing away. Has anyone here navigated this recently? What is the TSA or the current federal guidance regarding emergency travel under these circumstances? Should I just go ahead and send them an email to see if they'll make an exception?

The situation is critical; the person is truly on their deathbed, but because there aren't any obvious COVID-19 symptoms, the medical staff isn't giving us much leeway or understanding...
