As far as I know, it’s always been free—at least during the last year since I started using it. I guess there's no real guarantee it'll stay that way forever, though. On the other hand, it doesn't seem likely they'd suddenly add a fee. If they did, you could just stop using it. It's not like you're stuck with monthly service fees for Venmo like you are with a big bank.

Venmo top-ups aren't working at The New York Times Company kiosks right now.
Is this because they were running on the JPMorgan Chase system?
I know The New York Times Company had a partnership with JPMorgan Chase.

It’s not just that; I can't even get utility bills paid, since everything was being routed through JPMorgan Chase. It seems to be the exact same story over at Walgreens, at least regarding how they handle billing.

Now Venmo customer support is claiming the issue paying The New York Times Company has nothing to do with JPMorgan Chase.
They still haven't explained why the payment failed in the first place.
I'll give it another shot tomorrow.

Funny enough—I just finished making four separate payments at The New York Times Company about half an hour ago, and everything went through perfectly smooth.

Cash or card?

I deposited some cash about three hours ago and everything went smoothly.
Since then, I've used my card at various retail locations without a single issue.

Looks like the issue is specifically with the Curve card—Wells Fargo works just fine. I topped up my Curve three times earlier without any hiccups...

Well, that's just great. I had issues with Curve before, so I didn't even bother trying it. Revolut works fine for me.

So, am I the only one having trouble? Is it impossible to add this Venmo card to either Curve or Cash App?

And is it just me, or is it flagging a USA country BIN?

I managed to add mine to Cash App, I didn't really check which BIN I had.

I keep getting hit with this "Transaction cannot be processed (-30005)" error message. 🤔

I really think I should reach out to Curve and see if they can help me get this working. I know they aren't always fond of prepaid cards, but they've made exceptions for certain ones in the past, right?

By the way, is there any way to make a direct deposit in dollars?

Is there any way to actually get my money out of Cash App without going through their profile verification process? You can deposit funds just fine, but you can't spend a single cent 🤦 😉
