You can't top up your PayPal with cash directly anymore... You basically just have to hand over the cash, let them convert it to dollars, and then they load the dollars onto the card.

Just out of pure curiosity. Why bother with PayPal? Looking at those transaction fees, they seem pretty steep to me.

I only use it to pay my bills (since it’s free). I also grabbed a few cashbacks on DoorDash when using my PayPal card, so I took advantage of those while I could.

So, are you actually going to keep using it once they start charging? If I recall correctly, it was free through the end of 2022, but then they pushed back the deadline.

They've pulled this move a few times now. If they don't actually extend it, I'm done with them...

Man, there’s just so much info flying around I’m feeling a little lost here: can I actually use Venmo to send money to someone overseas (someone who doesn't even have Venmo) directly to their regular bank account?

It’s just not possible, and honestly, it’s pretty useless. They only accept domestic US routing numbers. I tried moving some funds from my Venmo to my Chase account to clear out my balance, but it wouldn't let me.

I love using it to load cash onto my card. It’s straightforward and you can find a location on basically every corner.

You definitely won't be able to do it via CH, but you might have luck with SEPA. From what I can see, neither Gmail nor Cash App works yet either. Let's give them a little more time before we start filing formal complaints...

I tried using a Wise account—it had a Belgian IBAN—but if I recall correctly, it didn't work. I suspect it might only accept American IBANs.

Look, I’m telling you, they clearly haven't found their footing yet. They need some breathing room first, and then once things settle, it's time to tighten the screws.

Of course not. You could have easily just used the Venmo app to convert that cash into a digital balance in under five minutes, and honestly, you probably should have mentioned you were going to file a complaint. We all know the staff at those convenience stores aren't exactly known for their brilliance or their hospitality, but that really isn't an excuse for them to be difficult like that.

Does anyone know if Venmo support actually works on the weekends? It feels like they scrubbed their business hours from the website.

You can do it right through the Venmo app.

Tap your profile picture in the top right corner. You'll see an option to update your PIN there.
