Person A wants to send $1,000 to Person B

Can Person A just stop by a convenience store, pick up a prepaid Mastercard, and send the details to Person B so they can deposit it into an account? Is there any way to do this without having to register or deal with any paperwork?

Basically... buy the card, send the info to Person B, have them deposit the funds, then Person A just hits an ATM to withdraw the cash and calls it a day...

I’m not sure who you’re asking about needing to skip the registration part, A or B? B doesn't need an account on Cash App, but A definitely does.

Buying the card alone doesn't get you anywhere.
You actually have to set up an Aircash account, register, and link the card to it.
Without those steps, the card is just plastic—it has no account number, you can't activate it, and you won't be able to receive any funds. It has to be tied to your Aircash account before it becomes useful.

Venmo might work if you skip the physical card requirement.
Just both parties install the app. Sender tops up and sends the cash.
By the way, once you top up, you aren't exactly anonymous anymore, but it works. 🤣

So, I just added my AirCash card as a payment method for my Xfinity TV subscription... I used to just use my standard checking account, but I decided to switch things up. Anyway, while I was updating the info with the AirCash account, they pulled $1 from it—I guess it was some kind of system test to verify the card? The thing is, that dollar hasn't popped back into my balance yet! I was just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this before, and maybe—if you know—how long I should probably wait for it to show up again?

Just yesterday. And honestly, I’m still seeing that it hasn't been credited back yet. I've done similar checks on other sites before, but usually, the amount pops back up almost instantly.

Hey, look, you aren't getting that money back. That's just a standard card authorization charge. If you go into your profile settings under linked cards, it’ll show you that once the authorization clears, that amount gets credited right back to your digital wallet. So, don't sit around waiting for a refund 😛 just toss another couple bucks in there and enjoy your shows 😛 🙂

I think you misunderstood me! I didn't go into the American Express app and add a brand new card like you're suggesting—instead, I just used my existing American Express Mastercard as the payment method for my Exxon TV service. And the fine print says: "After entering your details, the card is verified via a one-dollar reservation. Once the verification is successful, the hold is released and no actual charge occurs."
The thing is, that single dollar was pulled right from my American Express balance and hasn't been put back yet.

This might drag on for a while...

I made an online purchase using my American Express card, but after filing a claim that was actually approved, the merchant just sent me a notification saying they’ll be refunding the money back to the original card used for payment.

This is my first time dealing with a refund like this... I guess I'm wondering if it'll show up in my account within the usual timeframe for bank transfers, maybe somewhere between 24 to 48 hours?

How exactly is this person supposed to pay you via American Express?
Are we talking about a direct transfer through the app? Are you handing them a barcode to use at a 7-Eleven or something, only for them to send the funds straight to your card?

At the end of the day, American Express isn't a traditional bank—so it really comes down to whatever their customer support decides to do. Whether they buy into whatever story the payer tries to feed them is entirely up to them.

Though, if you want a simple solution: once that money hits your account, withdraw it immediately. Problem solved.
