Just picked up some natural B12

100mcg

50 tablets in the bottle

Does anyone know how long I can safely stay on this stuff?
My last blood test showed I was at 200 units...

Where did you get those measurements? Did you consult with the FDA or a pharmacist, or what?

If you're dealing with pernicious anemia, all those B12 supplements you're taking orally won't do much good at all. 😁

I don't really get why my levels are so low...
Like, I eat tons of meat and stuff, right?
But my B9 is basically through the roof
And then my doctor tells me my B6 is probably bottoming out too

How am I even supposed to figure out what's actually going on when you can't even bring up this kind of stuff in California...
Around here, they basically just look at your blood pressure, sugar, and cholesterol to decide if you're healthy or not... 🙂

To get a clear picture, you really ought to request a full panel—starting with a complete blood count, a peripheral blood smear, and serum folate. Checking your homocysteine levels could also provide some very useful insight.

I think I read somewhere that if your B6, B9, or B12 levels are low, your homocysteine goes through the roof...

Do you know exactly which blood panel I should ask for?
I've actually got some downtime this winter, so I'm thinking about getting everything checked out...

Back in April, I took a dose of B12, and then three months later, my levels were still sitting at around 220 units. Kind of ridiculous, right?

As for symptoms, I'm dealing with constant fatigue, being super irritable, and sometimes just feeling totally foggy... not even mentioning the memory stuff...

Well, you might as well go for the complete set—both the red and differential versions 😬 Don't just sit there reading about it; get out there and actually build it. 😬

Looking at the whole checklist of B12 deficiency symptoms... yeah, I’ve got the lot. Vision issues, tingling in my feet, that constant, bone-deep exhaustion, memory lapses, weakness, feeling totally disoriented... you name it.
I’ve been going through the ringer lately—running endless tests like blood work, EEGs, color Doppler, carotid scans, the whole nine yards. My wife is convinced that pills won't cut it and that the only way to actually get my levels back up is through injections, since oral supplements apparently don't do a damn thing.

Anyway, I knocked back those 50 tablets, so I'm gonna wait about 10 days and then head back to the lab for more blood work.

Seriously though, someone please post the results when they come in... I really want to see if this pill trick actually works or if it's just all nonsense.

Everything you just described is exactly what I went through when I was low on Vitamin D. My B12 levels are actually sitting right at the top end of the normal range.
The vision stuff hit me over eleven months ago, and honestly, supplementing with Vitamin D cleared it right up. I don't even need glasses anymore. I actually had to get my first pair made about eleven months back because I couldn't read a single word without everything looking blurry and distorted.

Trying to fix major vitamin deficiencies with just pills is usually a losing battle because people ignore the actual cause.

I remember my cousin dealing with a massive B12 deficiency, and the real issue was his body just wasn't absorbing it properly. He ended up in the hospital with some pretty serious complications. He went through all the standard doctors with zero luck, until he finally saw a specialist who actually figured out what was going on. I vividly remember him dealing with skin rashes and constant pain because of it. Now, he’s stuck having to supplement for the rest of his life just to stay functional.

In just one year, my B12 levels jumped from 202 up to 313... crazy
I knocked back about 50 Solgar 1000mg tablets
Then some B12 Kobayashi 500mg, 60 count
Plus 60 Neurozan pills—basically just a massive hit of B vitamins

I’m eating everything in sight, honestly, I can polish off half a pound of steak in one sitting
Either I’ve totally lost my mind or these lab results are just straight up wrong...

You might want to give B12 spray a shot; it’s what was suggested to me. I've been dealing with a deficiency myself, stemming from an autoimmune thyroid condition.

I just went back and checked my old prescriptions, which explains how I ended up with a slight B12 overdose.
Neurobion Forte—each capsule has:
100mg B1
200mg B6
200µg B12
Supposedly, this combo is the best way to ensure absorption and effectiveness.
The problem was, I was taking three capsules every single day.😁
Once I start again, I'll definitely scale back to just two.
I rarely eat meat, though—maybe two or three meals a week at most.

How long did it take for your vitamin levels to stabilize?

I'm not really sure. I haven't checked lately, but when I had my last blood work back in December, I noticed they were high.
It was at 808 pg/ml, while the normal range is 191 - 663.
I used to just take all three pills at once because it was easier.😁

Then I read somewhere that you can really only overdose if you're getting them via injection, 🤔
and apparently only people who can't absorb vitamins naturally get the shots...

Wild stuff. ☕

How much time has passed since you took your last pill and had your blood drawn?

I haven't checked my B12 levels since December, but I'm planning to start back on a lower dose after a two-month break.
I had more frequent blood work before and after my surgery, but we didn't really worry about B12 because everything else looked fine.
