Hey there,
I'm based out in California—looking for a woman to join me for day trips, catching a movie, or hitting up some concerts... if anyone’s interested in just chatting first, feel free to hit my inbox!

Yo, I'm 26 from Los Angeles. Honestly, I’m just looking for some company—I don't have any girl friends to hang out with, grab coffee, or hit up events with. Guys can reach out too, though I definitely vibe better with girls. Dealing with social anxiety makes things tough.

Hey, I'd like to ask the moderators if they could just delete my post. It's some pretty personal stuff, I guess. Thanks.

Hi there,

I’m a girl living in Washington, D.C., and I’m looking to find a close female friend. 🙂

When I say "friend," I don't just mean someone to grab a coffee with or catch a movie or a play with occasionally;
I'm looking for a genuine connection—someone I can actually dive into deep conversations with, where we can share
whatever is weighing on us or making us happy, depending on whatever stage of life we're navigating, and truly lean on one another. 🙂

As far as getting out and doing things goes, I'm pretty much down for anything; if you invite me to an event, my standard response is usually
"So, when are we going?" 😁

I really enjoy long walks and extended discussions about just about anything under the sun. I have a soft spot for people who speak with true passion about their interests; even if
I know absolutely nothing about the subject matter, the way they articulate their excitement always manages to draw me in.

I consider myself a good listener, so if you ever just need someone to talk to, I'm here. I am certainly not the type of person to dodge the heavy stuff, because
those moments are an inescapable part of being human. Life has its highs and lows; that's just how it works. 🙂

I'm fairly responsive and won't leave you hanging forever waiting for a reply. I don't hold any prejudices, and I intend to offer the same openness that I am seeking. If
any of this resonates with you and you're searching for a meaningful friendship, please feel free to reach out.

It would be ideal if you live in the Washington, D.C. area or spend most of your time here, and ideally, you're in your twenties.

P.S. I am exclusively looking for a female friend, so I'd ask that men please refrain from reaching out.

So, I’m back again after a two-month break, starting fresh with a new post. My last attempt was somewhat successful in the sense that people did reach out, but nothing ever really turned into something lasting.
I’m 29, which means I’m staring down that big 30 milestone pretty soon 😲.
Currently, I’m studying mechatronics at a polytechnic institute while juggling various odd jobs on the side to get by. I should probably mention that I’ve been managing schizophrenia for the past eight years; I’ve found it’s better to be upfront about it to avoid any awkwardness later if it comes up. For a long time now, I’ve been in a stable remission—honestly, my only real psychotic episode was eight years ago when I first received the diagnosis.
In terms of interests, I follow sports, keep an eye on politics and economics, and have a genuine love for science and technology. My taste in music and movies is pretty varied, too. Oh, and I do some long-distance running for fun.
I don't really drink alcohol, and I’m not much of a club person. Instead, I much prefer grabbing a coffee or catching a movie.
As for what I’m looking for... well, just some people to talk to, maybe go to the cinema with, take a walk, or grab a coffee. I don't have a preference between men or women; I'm open to meeting anyone.
That’s about it for now. It would be nice to wake up to a friendly message every once in a while. Anyway, goodnight to everyone 👋 😉

The search continues. 😁

I'm looking for someone to actually hang out with—you know, grab a drink, go for a walk, hit up an ice cream shop, catch a movie, or maybe wander through some museums. I'm down for restaurants, concerts, stand-up shows, pretty much anything happening around Washington, D.C. Also, if you're into billiards, badminton, or ping pong, that's a plus. 😁

Gender doesn't matter to me; I'm strictly looking for friendship here. 🙂

The only real requirements are that you live in the D.C. area and that we're roughly the same age (early twenties). 🙂

If you have any other motives, please just skip this post!

I’m looking for a real person here... honestly, it doesn't matter what for. It doesn't even matter who you are. I have preferences, sure, but they aren't the priority right now. I'm a guy in my late 20s. I'm based near Cleveland—ideally somewhere in the Cleveland area—or perhaps anywhere along the corridor toward Washington, D.C., since I head that way occasionally. If you're an interesting person, maybe we could even look further afield. Though, if we go that route, I can't promise we'll meet up in person, which is really what I prefer. I'd like someone roughly my age, but I won't set strict limits on that. The most important thing is that this actually works out. Unfortunately, I feel like I'm trying to build my castle from scratch. I need to start with friendships first. Right now, the terrain is pretty muddy. Until the foundation is laid, God knows if I'll ever build anything more than a little wooden shack that the wind just blows away. But, let's give it a shot.

I didn't say it would be easy, but it might be worth it.

Edit: While I still have the chance to edit, I'd say I'm mostly interested in people who are more about action than just talk. You might have your own struggles, but sitting behind a screen typing away isn't really my thing. I'm much more about hanging out. Real life connections. It would probably be ideal if you weren't the type of person who feels the need to be a "fixer." I have plenty of places to go for advice on my own issues—even this psychology forum itself. I'm here strictly for companionship. I won't try to fix you, and frankly, I don't know how I'd help you anyway. So, yeah, I'd love for it to be mutual. Just... connecting. That's 🙂

I'm a 28-year-old guy living in San Francisco. I've got a steady job, and honestly, I feel pretty good about where my life is headed—I really love traveling and just staying active. No mental health diagnoses here (at least not 😁). I'm looking for someone to be a friend or maybe more, and frankly, it doesn't matter to me if you have a diagnosis or not. I'm mostly just looking for casual conversation where we can talk about whatever happens to be on our minds at the moment...

What I’m mainly interested in is getting an outsider's perspective on things. If I come to you with a problem or a specific situation I'm facing, I’d love to hear what you think. I find myself wondering how someone else would handle it, because I really value hearing an objective opinion from a completely different point of view. It always seems to spark new ideas or solutions I hadn't even considered before, which I think is such a huge advantage. It’s a great way to gain some new insight. I'm happy to offer the same kind of thing if we end up hitting it off as friends. It would be nice if you happen to be in the Bay Area or somewhere nearby, though; that way, we could actually grab a coffee or go for a walk and really talk properly, using all those non-verbal cues you just don't get through a screen.

You're only as young as the last time you changed your mind.

Hey there,

I’m basically just looking for someone to chat with—nothing heavy, just some casual back-and-forth conversation. I’m 24, living over in Zion. Honestly, it doesn't matter if you're a guy or a girl, or even where you're located or what you're into... as long as we're roughly in the same age bracket. 🙂

Washington, D.C., ..39-year-old guy here. Life just kind of threw us all in different directions—people drifted apart after the war, everyone was busy finding new crews, grabbing jobs out of state, or just starting families.
All that stuff probably leaves some kind of emotional or mental scar on you, I guess. You gotta figure out how to deal with it and move on, whether you're flying solo or looking for someone to ride with... dealing with depression, isolation, and just feeling lost in the shuffle.

I’m here because I actually want to find a solid, interesting friend—someone under 40—where we can actually hang out regularly, grab food, hit the trails, go hiking, or just get the hell out of the city and into nature.
And look, I need someone who gets it. That person is gonna have their own baggage too, right? We both need support, and it should be a two-way street. I’m looking for someone chill, but also someone who can actually talk about their life and how they see things—no weird vibes, no drama, no misunderstandings. Just a good listener who’s willing to see my side, too. I don't do outbursts or anything; I'm pretty understanding, and I think everything can be worked out if both people are actually down for it.
We all need smart, interesting people around us. If fate or just bad luck means you don't have them in your family, you end up turning to strangers to build a new foundation. It ain't easy, but honestly, nobody shows up here just out of curiosity—it's because there's a real need to find someone and build our own little world together.

Hey there 🙂

I'm a 27-year-old woman living in Washington, D.C., looking to connect with someone around my age. I'd love to start out just chatting online, but if things go well, I'm open to becoming friends—maybe grabbing a drink, heading out for a night on the town, or catching a concert together. For now, though, I’m really just looking for some good conversation, so if that sounds like your speed, feel free to reach out 🙂

Just a heads-up: I tend to be a bit more low-key and reserved, especially when I'm still getting to know someone. I wanted to mention that in case you prefer people who are more outgoing 😁. It’s totally up to you, though; I don't want to impose my personality on anyone.

Glad this thread exists so we aren't just stuck talking about dating...
Life happened, and I ended up losing a bunch of friends along the way. Honestly, I’m just done with negative people. It’s a small circle now—maybe a little lonely, whatever—but I'm putting myself out there.
I'm looking for actual, solid friends (mostly girls, but guys are cool too) to grab coffee, hit the bars, travel, or just hang out. More importantly, I want someone I can actually talk to—someone to swap advice with, lean on, and who'll be there when things get messy. Basically, looking for lifelong people. If you're always down for whatever (not that "I'm tired" or last-minute flakey stuff), honest, and actually want to build a real friendship instead of just surface-level stuff, hit me up. Based in Washington, D.C. Between 18 and 25. Shoot me a DM. 👍

Zachary Smith44 said:I might look tough on the outside, but I’m a total softie underneath 🙂. Actually, scratch that—I’m pretty soft all over (if you catch my drift, you’ll see why I even bothered posting this).

Anyway, looking for guys or girls, somewhere between 30 and 45. If we're actually going to meet up in person, just texting isn't really my thing—I need to be able to talk to someone. Currently hanging out in Seattle.

Just saying.

Hey there,

I struggle with some pretty intense social anxiety, which honestly makes it tough for me to really connect with people the way I want to. I’m looking to meet some women who might be dealing with similar stuff.
A few things about me: I love staying active, getting lost in a good book, having deep conversations, and just a little bit of everything else.

Hey, I'm a 34-year-old woman looking to connect with some girls or even just find a solid female friend around the Cleveland area. Down to chat and see if we vibe, maybe build a real friendship, grab drinks, hang out, stuff like that.🙂

I'm out in San Diego... I posted an ad about two months ago and a few people reached out, but honestly, I totally chickened out and ghosted them immediately.
So, here's the deal: I’ve never been mentally healthier, and I'm currently a student. I'm 20 years old, and I have a weird fascination with "stable-unstable" types—people with moderate personality quirks.
Just kidding, though—no actual disorders needed because I really need a steady anchor in my life. I'm not looking for a boyfriend; I just want a friend, guy or girl. If you show up with any other intentions, you can forget it right now.
To be fair, maybe I shouldn't even be looking since I've let myself go a bit and put on about 20 pounds. But hey, I'm witty, as you can tell... or maybe not. I'm open to anyone dealing with depression who is actually working to get better, BPD types who aren't aggressive but lean more toward the depressive/self-destructive side and are trying to improve, or anxious folks who are just terrified of how bleak this world can be. Eating disorder survivors are fine too, or even artsy students/professionals. Just don't come at me if you're living entirely on energy drinks. Basically, I'm down for a beer and strictly looking for friendship. Ideally someone under 30—since being 27 already feels way too old for me, but whatever... Anyone interested? Honestly, after everything I ask for, I should probably just be praying to Jesus.

Hey there. Like most people here, I’m really just looking for a genuine connection. Not just someone to grab coffee or hit the movies with to pass the time—I want actual conversation.
I'm a woman, 29, turning 30 pretty soon. I've been dealing with depression since I was 16, so our chats will probably follow my mood swings... ranging from simple weather talk to deep dives into Platonov's theory of ideas, books, or movies.
Communication with other women hasn't always been my strongest suit, but I'm definitely open to trying.
If you're down for exchanging emails that vary from long essays to quick check-ins, I'm all ears.
As for meeting up in person, I'm not planning on that right now—but maybe down the road if we really "click" while writing.

Hey everyone! My name is Jacob and I’m coming to you from San Diego. I’m 25, and honestly, I’m just looking to find some high-quality friends to hang out with and actually add some substance to my life. It feels like finding genuine, decent people is getting harder by the day, so I figured I’d try my luck here to find an honest circle of friends. As for what makes me tick, I’m into music, movies, psychology, boxing, fitness, nutrition, and video games. I’ve been playing guitar for ten years now—and let me be clear, that isn't just some casual hobby, it’s my life's passion. I also sing and pick up the bass occasionally when I'm feeling particularly groovy. I tend to be a bit more serious than most guys my age, but I definitely know how to loosen up, provided I'm surrounded by the right kind of positive energy. I consider myself an artistic
soul, and one thing you won't find in me is that "macho man" persona or that ego-driven, self-absorbed attitude. I’m nothing like those typical, loud-mouthed materialists who spend their time judging everyone, cursing at everything under the sun, listening to trashy pop, and obsessing over money and status. I'm just not that shallow, frustrated type of guy. Currently, I’m diving deep into books on psychology and human anatomy. Also, just so we're clear: I don't touch Meta, Instagram, WhatsApp, alcohol, or tobacco—not even a little bit. And yeah, people like that exist! If there's anyone out there looking to connect with someone a bit unconventional—someone who doesn't wear a mask, speaks directly and honestly, thinks outside the box, and maintains a positive outlook—then we should talk. I can hold a conversation on just about anything and I’ll always give you my unfiltered opinion, but if a topic doesn't interest me or I don't have anything intelligent to contribute, I’ll stay quiet. There's no point in forcing a conversation if it isn't flowing naturally; you have to know when to step back and listen. Anyway, I don't want to ramble on too long here; we can take this offline. I'm hoping to find some like-minded people, so if you're a good person with real intentions, shoot me a message. Talk soon! 👍

Hey everyone!

If you feel like you've lost touch with reality, reach out. If you’re currently stuck in that "less is more" mindset and can't decide what you actually want, let's talk. If you feel like you deserve way more than the average person because modern standards have hit rock bottom, my door is open. And if you don't believe in luck or fate—if you think we're solely responsible for our own destiny—feel free to say hi.

If you don't mind that almost every sentence starts with "if," or that I tend to swing between extremes, then go ahead. But if you're coming into this with massive expectations for how we'll communicate, please don't bother. Just so you know, I live in Washington, D.C., I'm 30, and between my job and everything else, my free time is pretty limited. Honestly, if I find someone I can exchange more than a hundred sentences with, I'll consider it a huge win. 🙂
