I’m a 27-year-old woman looking to find someone to chat with. I’d prefer if you were around my age or maybe a little older. Honestly, gender doesn't matter to me—male or female, I'm open to it—and I don't really care where you're from. I'm just looking for some good conversation.

I honestly think it would be best if someone more reserved stepped up—someone maybe a bit shy or just a little out of place in a crowd. I’m pretty much that same way myself, so I feel like we’re probably the only ones who would truly get where the other is coming from.

Honestly, I’m just looking for someone to bounce some ideas off of—just a bit of intellectual back-and-forth.

I don't really have many friends right now, mostly because I'm pretty shy when meeting new people—it usually takes me a little while to relax and find things to talk about. I'm just looking for someone to chat with online, and maybe eventually get to know some new people that way. I'm not looking for a boyfriend, and I'd prefer to talk to people under 27.

Just repeating this.

I live just outside of Pittsburgh. Primarily, I’m looking to meet someone in person, but if there isn't anyone nearby, I'm more than happy to chat online via Facebook, Instagram, Skype, Viber, or whatever works best for you.
As for who I am, I really gravitate toward deep, meaningful conversations. I'm a big fan of documentaries and science, and I enjoy catching a movie every now and then. I'm not much of a party person—I actually find long walks much more my speed.
I don't mind at all if the people I get close to are dealing with their own struggles, and I'm a huge animal lover.

To reiterate,

I’m looking for someone willing to push themselves out of their comfort zone by trying new activities together. There's strength in numbers. I’ll admit, I’m pretty shy, but I want to live a real life and hopefully chip away at that social anxiety. I’d prefer to find someone who relates to me, and I want us to get to know each other properly through messaging first. Gender and age don't matter, and I'm not strictly tied to Washington, D.C.

I’ll be wide open and available to chat until about 1:30, so feel free to reach out. I have quite a bit of downtime on my hands right now. To be honest, I feel like I've clocked more mileage in this life than about 99% of the people on this forum. Between the milestone of buying my own home, navigating my very first mortgage, traveling all the way around the globe, pivoting my entire career path, and crossing paths with some 10,000 different people along the way, I've seen a thing or two. If there is anything you're curious about, just ask!

I am fully aware that this isn't exactly "Lonely Hearts" material and that my approach might lean toward the cliché, but I would truly appreciate it if any single women looking to connect might reach out... I have previously shared my struggles with social anxiety and depression over on Psihokauč, which leads me to believe that it might be easier to find a kind soul here—someone who either possesses genuine empathy for such challenges or perhaps navigates those same shadows herself. To provide a bit of context, I am 29 years old and currently living in Washington, D.C. So, there you have it... my inbox is open to you 😉

You might just get lucky today, man! I actually met a girl from Washington, D.C. just earlier today, so your odds are looking a lot better than mine right now.

I'm feeling pretty low lately. Looking to connect with someone from San Diego for some real-life hanging out. Ideally, I'd prefer someone at least 25 years old.

Looking for a new best friend. Someone single, someone who doesn't judge or talk behind people's backs—basically just a solid human being who deserves a good friend in return. I’m looking for someone reasonably normal, if you know what I mean? Honestly, I’m putting these out there because I just need a bit of normalcy; I don't want to be the only one constantly giving in a friendship. I need someone trustworthy, empathetic, and actually has feelings, you know? Not a dominant type, not high-maintenance, not temperamental, and definitely not someone who gets bored easily. Must have hobbies, not arrogant or neurotic, open-minded but maybe a little skeptical. Someone who avoids drama, isn't aggressive, and maybe isn't having the easiest time in life right now. Just an intelligent guy who doesn't feel the need to brag. I’d love to hang out in person occasionally—grab a drink, hit up a bowling alley, or just wander through some shops to see what's new... just to get out of the house. And look, I don't want our whole friendship to revolve around just hunting for girls. Bros before hos, right? 😁
Must be straight.
Non-smoker.
Washington, D.C. or Newark area.
Between 26-30 years old.
Prefer Skype, WhatsApp, email, or text. Don't really use much else.
If this sounds like 90% of you, hit me up.
If a girl sees this and recognizes herself in the description, she can reach out too, but only if we can build something deeper than just friendship down the road.

A bit about me:
Male, 29 (born '88), straight. Electrical engineering background. Not much else to say besides what I already mentioned regarding the kind of friend I'm after—someone compatible, someone I can actually relate to. No medical diagnoses to report. I am pretty antisocial and reserved, though. I'm not big on huge crowds, probably social anxiety, or maybe I'm just hypersensitive to certain things—I looked into the term and yeah, it fits. Even Nikola Tesla was like that, and nobody judged him for it.

Bonus points if:
You love electronics, soldering, fixing stuff, DIY projects, or inventing things.
We share good music (I listen to pretty much everything except metal, country, pop hits, trance, hardcore, or overly "girly" stuff; mostly DI.FM depending on the mood).
You have a PlayStation 3; we could play something online once in a while, though I'm not on constantly (mostly BF3 or MW3).
You have a spontaneous sense of humor and want to laugh together—but nothing at someone else's expense, no dumb jokes or heavy sarcasm.
You're the kind of friend someone would actually want to work for, you know? Like, if the job was better there.
Or maybe we could vouch for each other when it comes to meeting good people. That’s true friendship.
Someone I can head to a game at the stadium or Madison Square Garden with once or three times a year—not a requirement, just a thought—or someone to go to events with when you've got no one else to go with.
If you want to do something active in the summer, I've got some table tennis gear, or even soccer stuff, though I'm not into running marathons or intense matches (low blood pressure issues)—more into just kicking the ball around the park. It's fun. I also have badminton rackets just to kill boredom, or maybe just riding bikes around town or through Central Park.
None of this is set in stone, just ideas.

I’m feeling pretty anxious lately, so I’ve been looking to chat with some mature adults. Honestly, I just need a way to vent my frustrations in a somewhat productive manner. I'm not interested in talking about my age or going into the details of what's actually happening in my life. I just want to talk about normal, everyday stuff. I want someone to get fired up about something! I feel like I want to set myself on fire—figuratively speaking, obviously. If anyone feels like they can relate to this, let me know.

Male, 24. I’m a bit on the introverted side, but I’m looking to connect with some decent people—whether that stays strictly digital or evolves into meeting up in person if there’s actually substance to our conversations. I need someone to chat with, someone to help push me out of my comfort zone, and honestly, just someone to kill the boredom. I don't smoke, I hit the gym regularly, and I enjoy socializing, gaming, long walks, and going out. My music taste is pretty varied—everything from international hits to local favorites. I can talk about just about anything, but I’m also happy to be a listener; if you're dealing with stuff or just find it easier to vent to a stranger, I get it—I’ve definitely needed a shoulder to lean on myself at times.

Everything else via DM.

Hey there. 😉

I'm 25, currently based in Washington, D.C. I have a weakness for a good latte, though my stomach can't handle too much caffeine, sweets, or chocolate. :tugica:
Grass is my sanctuary 😁 and I live for deep conversations—the kind that stretch on for hours and leave you feeling energized rather than drained. 😛
As a Shrink like, discussing problems—mine or yours—doesn't exhaust me, provided we hit it off. It actually refreshes my perspective and gives me new tools to deal with my own demons. I enjoy a good chat and listening to people's life stories.
A cheerful introvert who occasionally surprises even myself with bursts of extroversion.🤣

The issue is that most of my friends aren't Shrink like, so they've drifted away. You know how it goes—once you change, it spills over into every part of your life. 🙄 Consequently, I'm looking for someone to grab coffee, a beer, catch a movie, or hit an art gallery with just to talk.

Interested in meeting up?
My inbox is open. 🎉

This ad is really intended for a US-based board, but since I haven't hit the post count threshold yet, I’m dropping it here.

I'm a 33-year-old guy—recently relocated to San Diego for work. The job itself is fine, but it doesn't exactly provide much opportunity to meet new people; most of my colleagues are already married or otherwise spoken for, and I've never been much of a nightlife enthusiast anyway.
I am looking to meet a woman around my age for a genuine connection.
If you have any questions or want to chat further, my inbox is always open.

Best,

Looking for some company—guys or girls, I don't care. I'm a guy.
Let's chat for a bit first to see if we actually vibe, then maybe meet up in person. Grab a beer, coffee, a soda, whatever. I'm down for board games too, or even just hitting some trails for a hike.
Also, if anyone's going through it mentally, I'm a good listener. I might even throw in some advice if you need it. 🙂

I'm 32. Ideally looking for someone between 24 and 38.

I'm 32, living in Washington, D.C., married, no kids, and honestly, I still live for hitting up concerts, gigs, and clubs on the weekend with my husband and a close friend. I rarely bother with the whole "grabbing coffee" thing because, I don't know, it feels a bit boring and I just can't be bothered; I usually have plenty of other stuff to do during the week, and frankly, staying home is often more interesting than sitting in a cafe. So, most of my social life happens on the weekends. During the week, I'm down to chat online if anyone's interested. Occasionally, I'll go for a walk if I'm feeling up to it. I don't have an official diagnosis, but personally, I feel like I deal with some mild depression, long-term insomnia, and anxiety. Primarily, I’d love to hear from women around my age (give or take, say 25-40) to get to know each other through messaging first, then maybe hang out, catch some rock shows, grab a beer, or whatever. I'm looking for women who aren't expecting constant coffee dates and won't hold it against me if I skip them. Though, I guess it's not entirely ruled out. Guys can reach out too if you're looking for friendship, though people always say male-female friendships don't exist. When I first meet someone, I might come off as stiff, stuck-up, or arrogant, but I promise I'm not a bad person—I think it's just the anxiety talking. I think I can be a pretty good friend overall, but I'll admit I'm not the type to check in during the week just to ask how you are, and I definitely tend to run late when we meet up (though I always send a heads-up). It's hard for me to change that; I've tried, but I just can't, so I'd love to find people who won't mind. I love everything the younger crowd loves—music, movies—and I generally have a creative streak. I'm open to listening to (at least) new ideas, interests, and viewpoints. Politically, I lean extremely left, but I don't care if you have different views (conservative or otherwise) as long as you don't push them on me or disrespect mine. I don't change my mind easily since I tend to analyze things deeply before forming a long-term stance. Unless, of course, you have truly legitimate arguments. I hope I don't sound weird; I'm just trying to be honest and list the flaws that have annoyed my friends in the past, so there are no disappointments or unmet expectations later on.😵Best regards!

👋

Not sure how to kick this off without sounding like a total drama queen 🤔.

Female, 27, currently grinding to retake my SATs this June.

When I’m not scrolling through some random internet rabbit hole 😁.
On the days I'm not being a complete hermit, I like hanging out—honestly, the activity is secondary. It's more about having good company 😳.
Music-wise, I'm pretty open to anything new, though I always find myself circling back to classic American rock 🙂.

Agnostic, smoker, coffee addict, hater of injustice, politically unaffiliated, a walking encyclopedia of useless facts that only I find interesting, proud cat mom, and definitely not proud owner of a few medical diagnoses
.
Next week I'm heading in for a moderately serious surgery, followed by about three weeks of strict bed rest while I wait on biopsy results.
So.Much.Fun. 🙂

Kind of felt like I was just stuck in all of this alone. 🥱
( :2up: )
Even though I meant to cut down my screen time, what else am I supposed to do with these days?

So I figured I'd drop another post looking for someone to chat with 🙂.
Gender or location doesn't matter, but age-wise, I'd prefer we're in a similar ballpark—just like our post counts 😈. I'm not really in the mood to deal with bots or people who just signed up yesterday, but hey, 100% is the goal. ☕

I'm not necessarily looking for (and maybe not even 🤣strictly a shoulder to cry on, just a new way to distract myself from my own mess. Besides, people tell me I'm a pretty good listener 😒.

I’m looking for someone to chat with—and maybe grab a coffee... down the road, someday. Honestly, what am I actually looking for? I’m not even entirely sure myself, but I am quite certain about what I *don't* want.
I am not looking for a possessive type who won't let me have any breathing room.
I’m not looking for sex—at least not for a while.
And I am definitely not looking for someone who will dump all their problems onto me; as much as I might want to help... truth be told, other people's drama just drains me. Call me selfish if you must, but I'll say it.
What I want (not "look for," let's be precise) is someone who can be a pillar for me—someone to give me that push when I'm struggling to push myself. I want an individual who can stand by me when it feels like nobody else can tolerate me.

So, what am I offering?
It sounds incredibly silly, I know, but you can't really ask for anything without offering something in return.
I offer a witty person currently engaged in a rather successful battle with some internal demons.
I offer a free spirit who tries her best to withhold judgment and actually understand people.
I’m well-read—or at least, I consider myself to be... though lately, my college workload has been eating into my reading time.
I’m 21, and I wouldn't call myself attractive. Much like most people on these forums, I suppose. I have a decent face, but I'm carrying some extra weight. About 25 pounds extra, to be exact—though that number is trending downward.
That’s why I’m not hunting for a boyfriend, but rather a friend—male or female—to message and talk about everything and nothing. I don't always need deep, philosophical debates; sometimes just recounting my day is plenty. I’m not interested in grandiose personalities full of themselves, but I also don't want anyone who's overly timid or repressed.
Balance is what I'm after. It's what I need.
If any of this happens to resonate with you, feel free to reach out.
By the way, gender doesn't matter. If you see yourself in these words, get in touch.

Hey everyone

I’ll try to keep this brief and to the point, though if anyone feels a connection to what I’ve written, I suppose I could explain exactly what I'm looking for—especially regarding personality traits—via private message.
Since I've had some certain experiences in the past, I’d prefer to hear from someone in the Washington, D.C. area or somewhere nearby, assuming you wouldn't mind making the trip to the capital.

I'm 26, although I guess I tend to act and think a bit older than that.

I'm pretty direct and a bit of a realist; I can probably wrap my head around different perspectives, but I don't really think things work when there isn't a deeper level of compatibility.

Dealing with a bit of anxiety, I'm not really the type to find fulfillment in drinking or partying, but rather in nature, quiet moments, and maybe the occasional adrenaline rush—if I ever manage to get enough money together to actually pull that off.

This might be a bit poorly phrased, but I'll try to provide more detail in messages so I don't end up writing an essay here.

Ideally, I'm looking for someone between 22 and 40, but I suppose that's not strictly necessary.

And boldbadger20 is just a handle. 😁

Feel free to reach out.

P.S.: I'll admit I'm being a little lazy; this is an old post still sitting on US. I listed a wider age range because, honestly, I usually get along better with people older than me anyway.
I'm also open to some casual, low-stakes virtual chatting, since we're all here, so I can listen or maybe offer some advice if needed.
