I don't hang out on this forum very often, nor do I spend much time on the Psychic Sofa, but this is such a great topic that I wanted to stop by. I'm looking for someone strictly for pen-palling—meaning no meeting up in person, at least for now, and probably not ever.

I'm feeling a bit stuck in a fog lately. I'm not really looking to dump my entire life story on anyone, but rather just chat about everyday things and random situations. If anyone else is feeling similar, maybe we can help distract each other from the heavy stuff weighing on our minds.

Is there anyone out there—ideally a woman—who grew up in a pretty dysfunctional family situation? I’m looking to swap stories and maybe find some solidarity.
I've been dealing with quite a few things lately that I just can't bring up with my usual circle, mostly because they involve a family life that is, frankly, a total wreck. I really just need someone to talk to so I can lift my spirits and try to forget about it all for a while. I'm 21, currently living in San Francisco, and feeling incredibly on edge, so I decided to take a chance and post this here. I am hoping to find someone who can offer an impartial perspective on a relationship issue that has been weighing heavily on my mind lately. It would be truly refreshing to hear a viewpoint that isn't clouded by my own biases.
