dustyscout8 said:vlado3, I have no idea what you're getting at🙂 because I am seeing the exact same message stating the form "is signed and cannot be edited," and yet absolutely nothing happens. There isn't even a confirmation that it was received or any sign of progress. I actually called their toll-free support line, and the woman on the other end sounded completely frazzled; she basically admitted the application is broken and that it isn't our fault, but rather that their system keeps hanging and half the features simply aren't functioning. So, how are we supposed to submit anything? The old system worked perfectly fine, and there was never an issue with it.

Has ANYONE HERE actually managed to successfully file an ID form using this new, broken software?!

You actually have to download the confirmation manually now; it doesn't just pop up automatically anymore. Once you sign the form and get that message saying it's signed and locked for editing, that's when you actually hit send—there's a specific "Submit" button for that. After you've sent it, go to the "Sent Forms" section, select the one you just filed, and you'll see a little checkmark icon next to it. If you click that, it opens up a menu with the options you might need, including "Download Receipt."
I'm only explaining this in case you weren't sure how to find the proof of submission. But if the entire system is crashing on their end, then please disregard my instructions. 🙂

The IRS is reporting that they can't run on Java 1.7, yet they're also aware that the systems used for tax filings won't function on 1.6. They’re working on a fix right now, supposedly trying to find a way to make everything compatible with Java 1.7 so the IRS systems finally play nice together. I actually reached out to ask them what we're supposed to do in the meantime—because constantly uninstalling and reinstalling different versions of Java just to satisfy specific modules is becoming a massive headache—and their answer was basically, "there's no other way." They mentioned that some people are managing by using one computer running Java 1.6 for certain tasks and a second computer running Java 1.7 for others. I told them that sounds pretty ridiculous for those of us who only have a single workstation. They claim everyone is aware of the situation and they're working on a solution. For now, my only workaround is to download Java 1.6 whenever I need to use Regos, and then wipe it out to install 1.7 whenever I have to jump onto the IRS site. It's a tedious cycle, but until they get their act together and sync the versions, that's exactly what they told me I'd have to do.
Based on exactly what you described, I run into that specific form in those exact spots. It keeps asking me for a signature, but then the moment I actually try to sign it, I get an error message. That’s the word from the folks over at the IRS.

I have Java 1.7 installed and everything is running perfectly—both the IRS filings and the general tax modules are working fine.

The ID went through like a dream. I’m just going to make a copy and print out that confirmation page showing the ID was successfully received and is currently pending processing. I guess that should be enough for me for now. I'll probably just check back later to see if it's actually been processed.

It’s a total miracle—I have absolutely no idea how I pulled it off—but it went through without a single hiccup. Now that I've said it out loud, though, I'm sure I've just invited a disaster.😬

Sam Wells5 said:Personally, none of my folks sign anything. Back when we used to walk over to the local IRS office to drop off forms, I’d just end up signing the ID and sales tax documents myself. I mean, maybe it isn't the most brilliant way to handle things, but honestly, it just makes life a whole lot easier.

Yeah, but you have a whole stack of them, whereas I only have one.😬 🤣

Is the Treasury Department used for sending things via SAP? 🤷 I only signed up for the basic package just to submit forms to the IRS, so maybe that's why it still works for me...

But I'm running into a similar headache with net banking; whenever I try to access it using a card reader, if I'm running Windows 7, JP Morgan Chase demands active card client 6.2 while Hypo 6.3 requires something else entirely. I'm forced to choose between JP Morgan Chase or Hypo. Meanwhile, back on Windows XP, everything works perfectly and both run simultaneously without a hitch. The folks over at Hypo admitted they know the software is incompatible, and their "solution" was to suggest I just buy a dedicated USB stick for Hypo's net banking since the stick works without needing the active card client. And of course, you have to pay extra for it $117. Honestly, why would they bother fixing the compatibility when they can just sell you an alternative to squeeze more money out of you? 🙂

Since we’ve already brought up GFI-POD, I was wondering where I might track down a sample payment voucher for when I submit my forms. The Treasury Department website lists all their fees, but I just can't seem to find the specific reference number or account details needed to complete the transfer. Or am I just being a total silverbadger?

Honestly, I have absolutely no clue which version I'm actually running right now. I remember getting some sort of pop-up notification suggesting I needed to update Java—possibly even when I was first trying to log into the IRS portal—but I just clicked through whatever was on the screen without giving it a second thought. Now? I'm completely lost as to what I actually have installed...

Well, looks like I figured it out myself after all (clearly my eyesight isn't what it used to be)

Account number 2390001-1100017042
Payment reference 05 7543000-SSN

I finally managed to dig those numbers up from an old regulatory manual dating back to 2007.

So, I just got off the phone with FINA again, and they’re insisting that the Rs-m forms simply cannot be listed or submitted via Java 1.7.; they claim it can only be done through Java 1.6.
The GFI works fine because it’s a more robust module, but the Rs-m isn't cutting it—it seems like while certain functions work over the IRS system on 1.7., others just don't. Honestly, I’m at my wit's end trying to make sense of it all. They mentioned they are working on it at a higher level and coordinating with the IRS, since the IRS set everything up based on Java 1.7., whereas FINA hasn't caught up yet, which is creating this headache for them too. I have no clue who is responsible for what anymore, but I assume they'll eventually get their act together and sync up. Perhaps there is some hidden setting in the configuration if it's working for some people but not for others.

If you've reached the point where it says "form is signed and cannot be edited," you just need to click "Submit" on the left side of your screen.

dustyscout8 said:We attempted to file an IBM form through this revamped IRS portal today, and it threw an error message immediately upon submission. We properly signed the document and hit send, yet the system rejected it instantly. Everything functioned flawlessly under the old version of the electronic filing system.
Is there some additional step required before the final submission that we might be overlooking? We have already checked the box to accept the terms and conditions, but that hasn't solved anything.
Are you all still having your clients sign physical IBM copies, or is digital submission sufficient once the confirmation is received?

What kind of error are we talking about? And does it happen during the digital signature phase or when you actually try to transmit the file?

Captiva, I keep telling them, "I'm sending it over," but for some reason, they just can't seem to save the receipt...

I already submitted my ID and tax forms. Like someone else mentioned earlier, once that bolded error message appears, look to the left for the "sign" option—then that "green" form should pop up.
After that, I just hit "export," save it as a PDF, and print one copy for my own records.

I should probably "confess" where I messed up. Someone mentioned in an earlier thread that you need to uninstall the Activision client if it's installed—I was positive I didn't have it on my machine, but turns out I did (installed it once to show a client how online banking works). Once I cleared that out, everything went through smoothly.
For now, I'm staying away from the IRS portal since it's easier to just walk into the local office in person.

Well, isn't that just wonderful that you finally got it sorted out! Honestly, I’ve had Active Client on my system for ages now, and I haven't even bothered to reinstall it lately. 🤷

So far, everything with the IRS portals and the unemployment filings went through without a hitch—sent them off yesterday. Honestly, I have no idea what kind of news is coming my way next. I guess I'll just take whatever they offered me a few days ago on the tax site and hope it stays that way. Fingers crossed, right?

I managed to get two IDs through, but honestly, it drives me absolutely INSANE that you have to manually click into every single line with your mouse because hitting "Enter" won't even move you to the next line. It's ridiculous.🙂

If there's anyone with actual authority reading this, 🙂 fix this bug already!

Just use the TAB key to move to the next line.
Right above the Shift key.🙂

Neither my tax software nor my payroll system was working. Talked to a rep at the bank yesterday and figured it out: you gotta wipe your current Java first, then hit this link http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/ja...s-1880261.html.
Make sure you click Accept License Agreement and grab the Windows x86 Offline jre-7u17-windows-i586.exe file.
Also, go into IE, hit tools, internet options, security, and add the payroll site to your trusted sites.
This new version of Java actually supports both systems.
Hope this helps someone.
