Is there actually some kind of logical explanation for why certain forms just can't be filed through the e-portal, even after all these years since they launched the system? For instance, take small business owners—they still can't submit their annual income tax returns or the specific business activity filings online...

The citizen side of things gets updated every now and then. For instance, you can grab a criminal background check through there lately.

I don't think it's the IRS, is it?

Everything will be available soon—the Democratic Party is launching a new app, basically a public portal for the tax authority where citizens can just log in using the standard federal ID system 😉

There was a presentation about it recently... should open up a ton of new options.

Will we eventually be able to file our sales tax and payroll forms without needing those specific digital certificates from the IRS? Any idea when that might happen?

Well, that'll happen the moment they decide that electronic signatures aren't even required anymore!

Anyone know what this error means when I'm trying to sign forms on the CDC website?

Is the software installed wrong or something?

If they actually wanted to streamline things—and I mean really modernize the system—they could have just integrated signature verification via smart card readers using our state IDs, which wouldn't cost much more than $27 per unit.
Since everyone carries an ID anyway, it would be a seamless transition without any extra headaches... but apparently, that's too much to ask for. 🙂

I’m looking into registering a mobile terminal for fiscalization. Since I run a car rental business, I need to get our mobile unit officially registered with the fiscal register—we're currently using a T-Mobile system. From what I understand, this process now goes through the IRS website. Does anyone here happen to be familiar with how that works?...

The old way via the fiscal register stays valid until June 30th. Starting July 1st, everything shifts to the IRS portal.

Everyone will also be required to log into the IRS portal by July 31st at the latest to confirm the data they submitted before June 30th. You'll also need to manually enter the details for the software manufacturer and/or service provider.

Where on earth are you getting that from? I don't see anything like that in the actual legislation.

Isn't the registration for the workspace supposed to be done via the IRS portal by June 30th?
Has there even been any release of the official filing forms on the IRS site yet?

The deadline is July 31st per Article 19 of the tax regulation.

Looks like devilgirl already weighed in on this, and you can find more details directly on the IRS website here:

The IRS portal hasn't updated anything yet, but I'm betting they'll have it posted by July 1st.

Hey everyone, I could really use some guidance here! I filed my tax return back in May, and everything seemed to go through perfectly fine—it was actually approved. But I just realized I made a bit of a goofy mistake while filling out the forms. Instead of marking the period as April 1st through April 30th, I accidentally listed it as covering March. It’s just that one specific date range that's wrong, but it's definitely an error
Thanks a million!

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone else has tried filing their business workspace registration through the IRS website today?

I managed to get through most of it, but once I reached the section where I have to input my operating hours, the layout seems a bit off—I can't see the full pop-up window on my screen. I went ahead and entered my schedule for Monday through Friday, but the "SUBMIT" button at the bottom is completely cut off, so I’m stuck and unable to save any of my information.

I suppose I'm just curious if this might be some kind of technical glitch on their end, or if maybe I'm just missing something obvious?

Same here. I’ve filled out everything except the work hours part.

Just hold down the Ctrl key and use your mouse wheel to zoom out on the screen. The font will shrink a bit, but that checkbox should pop right up for you. Once you've clicked it, just scroll back in to restore your view to normal.

Hey there

Is anyone else running into issues pulling employment history through the official government app? Every time I try to log in via the CDC portal, I just get hit with a random error page. It’s super weird because everything else works fine—I can pull tax forms and stuff without a hitch. I actually managed to grab a client's records about a month ago, but even then, it took a few tries to get it to work. Now, I've been trying multiple times a day for five days straight, and it's just constant errors. Is their site just totally broken right now, or could it be my browser? Or maybe it's because I'm still running Windows XP on this machine... anyone know what's up? thanks

Everything’s working fine on my end. I just went to check it myself.
But look, you aren't looking for Medicare records—you need to be checking with FEMA. Give it another shot.
