Listen, folks, I’m reaching out because I could really use some help here. I’m trying to register my commercial space through the IRS portal, but honestly? Between all the reading and searching, I’m just spinning my wheels. It seems like if I go under the Forms section, there should be a subcategory for Fiscalization to get this moving... but for some reason, that option just isn't showing up on my screen.
Do I need to upload something first? Install a specific software? Fill out a preliminary filing? I’m completely stuck.

If you log into the portal and look at the bottom of the home screen, you'll see a section called SERVICES, and right underneath that, there's an option for Fiscalization—specifically for registering business locations. That’s the one you want to click to enter the registration application. It isn't actually located under the Forms tab.

Thanks for the quick reply, iva0404... but here’s the thing: when I look under Services, I don’t see any option for tax auditing (all I have is e-filing, EU systems, receipt verification, VAT user lookup, and VAT ID checks).
Either I’m a complete moron, or something is seriously broken on this site.

The IRS website mentioned earlier today that they were running into some processing issues with filings, but those should have been resolved by now... I wonder if maybe that's what's causing this?

Look, I get it—there were some hiccups, but I don't think that's actually the root of the problem.
I’ve been sitting here convinced I missed a step somewhere, like I forgot to upload a document or failed to check some box on an application. Then today, I finally show up at the IRS office with all my physical forms in hand, only to have the agent tell me I have to do everything through their online portal because I'm already registered for an e-file account... seriously? Does anyone know if I need some specific digital certificate or some other specialized credential just to get past the login screen?

As for that SAVE button, I have no idea why it’s ghosting you. Maybe a field was missed? It works fine for me whenever I submit an update 🤔

But where am I supposed to enter the closing date for the office space?
Under the "Office Space" window, all I see are two options: Status: Open, and Opening Date: today's date. And get this—those fields are locked. There isn't a single input box for a Closing Date anywhere on the screen. How am I even supposed to find it???

Is there even a legal requirement to "close" these business spaces through the IRS portal? Wouldn't it be more logical if an unverified status automatically triggered a closure?

And how on earth am I supposed to reach their support team for this specific form?
I'll say it again: I am absolutely fed up with this entire mess. From the Secretary of the Treasury down to the IRS bureaucrats who rolled out this garbage, and then to the FBI and their cronies who clearly couldn't build a functional web form if their lives depended on it. They don't reply to emails, there's no contact number, and this half-baked excuse for a form hasn't been fixed despite the deadline being just days away. This law has been in effect for seven months now, yet they've only started actually working on a functional version a couple of weeks ago. Unbelievable.

Is it possible that I wasn't an IRS online filer before, but somehow became one now? My accountant did something—I pulled my EIN and handed it over to them—so now all these tax filing options have suddenly popped up. (I'm just a bit confused because everyone keeps mentioning being an "IRS online user"—I guess there's a category for people who aren't?)

(It's still a little fuzzy to me; this whole "IRS user" thing keeps coming up, and I can't quite wrap my head around who wouldn't be considered one)

Perhaps you first need to verify the space as an open location before the system will allow you to change the status from "open" to "closed." It might be worth a try...

You are definitely an Eporezn user; your accountant simply has power of attorney to file forms on your behalf.

Oh, brilliant. Truly top-tier logic right there. 🙏 So, I’m supposed to take a business location that hasn't seen a soul in years and first "verify" it as active just so I can shut it down? 😲 Seriously, does the IRS have an entire dedicated department just for dreaming up this kind of absolute nonsense? Is it even possible to be more incompetent than this?

Is it even certain that I'm required to go through this whole verification dance before closing them, or can I just leave them unverified? It makes zero sense to me—why on earth would I be forced to retroactively "open" and then immediately "close" locations that stopped operating LONG BEFORE this law even went into effect?

The situation with these business locations is a total mess—we actually have a meeting at the IRS today specifically about this...

I'll let you guys know if anything changes..

Do you honestly believe these meetings lead to any actual progress? Can you even squeeze an answer out of them as to why there’s zero support for Eporezn—no contact number, no help desk, and they just ignore every single email sent?
I think you mentioned a meeting regarding those sales tax forms before too, but what happened there? Absolutely nothing. Everything stayed exactly the same. And regarding the registration of business premises—if there hasn't been any movement by now, I find it hard to believe anything will happen at the eleventh hour when the deadline is staring us in the face. If they actually had any intention of scrapping this requirement, wouldn't the meeting have happened months ago? Instead, they wait until a day or two before the deadline when it's far too late for meaningful changes, after people have already wasted countless hours filling out these nonsensical forms. This law has been in effect since the start of the year—that's seven months of pure futility.

How are you handling the locations that aren't being used anymore? Are you verifying them just to close them out, or are you ignoring them entirely?
I took some time to dig through the legal code myself, and nowhere does it mention locations that have *already* been closed. It only refers to spaces that *are* closing or where activity *is being* conducted (present tense, not past). Does that mean we don't need to do anything for places that were shut down previously?

Section 19. (Federal Code 115/16, effective July 1, 2017)

"(1) Taxpayers subject to fiscalization under Section 15, Paragraph 2 of this Act are required to submit data to the Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service regarding all business premises where business is being conducted.
(7) The taxpayer shall provide the date of closure for a business premise as specified in Section 2, Point 8 of this Article if the business premise is temporarily or permanently closing.
"
Transitional and Final Provisions from Federal Code 115/16
Section 19.
Taxpayers who submitted data regarding all business premises to the Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service prior to the enactment of this Act are required, within 30 days of the effective date of Section 6 of this Act, to resubmit data for all business premises where they conduct business in accordance with Section 6 of this Act.

Does anyone actually know if there's a requirement to report anything to the IRS when a business closes for a 15-day vacation? Do we need to file some kind of notice regarding temporary closure or add a specific note during fiscalization? None of this makes any sense, and frankly, these regulations are just pure nonsense.

I'll just provide the answer myself since it's clearly necessary: yes, it is.🙂
If anyone actually needs guidance on this, you can find the instructions from the IRS on page 44.🙂

Can anyone weigh in here? I'm looking over my mother's tax records and there's some outstanding debt listed for $167 court fees.

4227 court fee collection

I want to settle this via online banking, but I'm second-guessing if I have the right details:

For payments using revenue codes between 4200 and 4413
taxpayers using payment orders should enter
model number "68" in the "model" field, and then use
the first revenue code being paid as the data for the "approval number" field, along with
the taxpayer's SSN—the one issued by the Department of the Treasury – the Internal Revenue Service.

So, the payment goes to account:

US121001005186300016 (US Treasury)

US68 4227-SSN

I found this information on link.

Does this look right to you? Thanks.

Your payment reference looks fine, but the routing number is off—you're missing the last digit, which is a 0.

Yeah, I caught that copy-paste error myself—as long as the reference number is spot on, we should be good.

Thanks!

Has anyone actually managed to pull off logging into the IRS portal using that new electronic ID with the built-in certificate? The whole point was that we could finally sign our own forms without having to cough up a fortune for those overpriced official certificates from the central bank.

I can’t get into the IRS portal, and I have an urgent deadline to file a form.

My certificates completely vanished from the USB drive I use for the IRS site. When I launch ActivClient, it shows the USB smartcard reader is connected, but there isn't a single certificate in sight. Just... nothing.

Has anyone else run into this kind of mess?
