Brian Moore12 said:Exactly. Run from American "banks" and credit offers as fast as you can. Just issue yourself a restraining order against every financial institution within ten miles. And stay away from those tacky street festivals too.

As for that guy offering you a few bucks in exchange for twenty-two, he clearly doesn't realize he's basically offering a payday loan. Even if you signed something like that, it would be legally void, and he'd be facing charges under Section 242 of the Penal Code of the United States. He's probably just a loan shark himself—or maybe even a banker looking for a quick cut...

She’s not exactly dim, though, so she wouldn't sign something like that just to whine about it later 😬...

Besides, turning four bucks into twenty-two doesn't require any shady business, but trying to explain that to you would probably exceed my meager pedagogical skills—not that I'm qualified or anything 😉... Unless I can also snag a piglet like that math professor of yours?

Brian Moore12 said:What’s so obvious here? It’s pretty clear you’ve churned out nearly 10,000 posts in less than a decade. If anything is "obvious," it's that you live on your computer. People like you usually have zero clue what’s actually happening in the real world. Your folks did you a favor by telling you to get out of your room, see what's actually going on, and try socializing with actual humans for once.

And what else is news? Your old man just kept some things to himself. 😁

That's coming from someone who hit a hundred posts in less than a month 😍...

If it weren't for Dad lugging those piglets over to the math teacher, you might realize you spend way more time typing away on here 😬

I bow down to your supernatural abilities. 🙏
Well, that's exactly what the law says.

Anyone hit 100 posts in less than a month? 😍...
Yeah, you sure do know everything...

So, let me get this straight—is it normal for someone I lent $100,000 to a few years back to suddenly start accusing me of never actually having the cash in the first place? Like, now they’re claiming lending money is somehow illegal, complaining the interest we agreed on is way too high, whining that the plot of land they bought has dropped in value, and pointing out that the house they used as collateral is their only property... all while suggesting they might—and I mean *might*—consider paying back what they took, but only if we scrap the interest entirely and pay it back in old currency at whatever the exchange rate was back then, even though the dollar is worth way more now...

I mean, I'm not exactly an idiot...

Maybe the only people I'd trust to actually honor a deal are the guys down at a local dive bar or a greasy spoon, because at least they seem to respect a handshake...

So you plan on paying back the debt with your future paycheck? How exactly do you think you'll borrow money you clearly can't repay? Even your best friend wouldn't touch this, knowing you can't pay them back.

Not sure if you noticed, but you're replying to a post from 2011.

The stuff people have been posting the last couple days is actually responding to this question here:

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone knows how to score a quick loan? I need $1333 ASAP, but I have zero interest in getting mixed up in any shady schemes. The problem is, I'm on a temporary contract right now, so traditional banks won't touch me. I could pay it back in 2-4 months with interest, obviously. Anyone know a decent person who could help me out? Let me know. Thanks!

I’m telling you, if someone who isn't actually family—you know, not your dad, or your mom, or even a sibling or an aunt—is the one handing you that loan... they probably aren't exactly a saint 😉

Well, what are you offering as collateral, and where should I drop off the cash?

Can you explain that a bit more?
I mean, I lend him 4 bucks, he gives me 5 back in a few months—doesn't sound like everyone wins there!

The issue is I don't own any real estate or assets. I've got nothing to put up as collateral..

Well then, look at it this way... imagine you were handing over cash to some total stranger. Would you even do that? I guess not!

Of course not. But if you had a notarized agreement or something? Why not, if there's a signed legal document making them liable? If they don't pay, you sue. Honestly, wouldn't be smart for anyone to dodge a debt when the legal fees would end up costing way more than the actual money..

I've actually got two court judgments sitting right here at home—one from all the way back in 2011 and another from just last year....
....and nope, still no cash in sight, even after dragging things through the courts for seven years.☕

Give him all five, just hand the guy the cash already.😉

So did you actually try reaching out to these debtors or sit down with them to see what the hold-up is?

Oh, you definitely do—I mean, there’s always a special corner of heaven reserved just for the greenhorns...

Nah, it’s not that... he basically just blew his cash on legal fees just for the hell of it. What's the problem? The problem is they aren't paying him back.😬

I might just put my funeral on a credit card.—if that's how it goes.
