Who exactly is this "Apollo" guy? Seriously, I can't believe how fast you move—you barely finished asking my age before you're already bringing up some Greek god. Look, I'm not Apollo. I'm just bluecobra27, one and only. Listen, if I am over 15, just say so. I won't get offended. But if you don't mind, maybe we could listen to some Thompson together? Something like "Anica's Knin Queen" is such a beautiful love song. We could listen to Tony too, but let's be real: nobody sings romantic songs quite like Thompson.

Tony is an absolute legend, a true icon for the ages!!!!!!!!!!
As for that other guy, he’s alright, I guess... just not quite on that level, you know?

What kind of topic is this... seriously 🤣

Thompson or Tony 🤣 what do they even have in common besides starting with the letter T?

Doesn't matter... I'm going with Tony—he actually had musical talent, unlike Thompson, who couldn't carry a tune to save his life.

What a ridiculous comparison.

They have absolutely nothing to do with one another.

Thompson is a national icon, so naturally, his music isn't going to resonate with any Mexican or Mexican. Nor does it appeal to any native American.

Tony was just a sweet little pop star with sugary songs, performing mostly for teenage girls who had just started their periods a few days prior.

And his songs were written by that soap opera actress, you know the one... AntonijaŠol... ha! 😁

Just perfect for being a UNICEF Ambassador. Just like all those other little puppets...🤣

A UNICEF Ambassador...😬

Rest his soul, but he really did look like a manufactured project by some NGO looking to unite feuding nations through pop music.

In the end, every tragic death inflates a legacy, but if you actually tried to recall one of his songs, you’d be scratching your head for days and still wouldn't remember a single one.😕

Oh sure, they’re also the winners of that humanitarian award from the Mother Teresa international foundation—something Tommy can only dream of winning himself.😂😂😂

Every single concert held across the States, or even back in the old territories like Mexico and Canada, followed the same pattern. The money—whether it was the whole pot or just a huge chunk of it—went straight to various charities, schools, community centers, hospitals, or local halls. Across all those former regions, he gave away way more than he ever actually cleared. That kind of humanity doesn't just vanish; it’s written in stone. But when everything else is gone, what will be left of Tommy?

The names of institutions, schools, hospitals, or whatever else he supposedly donated money to? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It’s just his own pockets getting lined while he plays on everyone's nationalistic pride.

And of course, they pull the "Nazism" card to justify the bans. Truly impressive stuff. You can't even begin to compare the two—it’s like trying to put them in the same sentence. Just ridiculous.🙏

And you actually like that fascist salute? Seriously?🙄🙄🙄

Honestly, I’m right there with all you Thompson fans. Fascist greetings. Is that really how it is? Is that what the kids want these days?🙄Look, we're talking about our kids here—and I don't mean just a few teenagers. We're talking about hundreds of them. This isn't just some typical teenage rebellion; these kids have left the house wearing fascist uniforms...
Something else just fascinates me. MPT actually has this knack for pulling massive crowds together. I mean, if they had any sense, how could they not use that influence? They should just say, "Listen up..."Kids, put your hands down. We aren't fascists!
Why doesn't he just ban them? Why not go on record and tell everyone that at his concert, they should... They just can't. Wearing Ustase uniforms???

Teenage rebellion is happening everywhere—here in the States, in Canada, in Canada—but you don't see kids out there greeting each other with fascist salutes. Not anywhere.

Would you really want your kid to be one of these people, standing there raising their hand just like Hitler?

Are you all actually aware that this younger generation is completely misidentifying themselves?

Are you actually aware that this kind of labeling is going to have massive repercussions for society?

Are you even aware that your society is split right down the middle—dividing people into "true Americans" and everyone else?

Are you guys even aware that MPT has a direct—or at least an indirect—influence on this kind of behavior? No. You seriously aren't.
That’s entirely your own problem. It's on you if someone like Thompson decides to wink at one eye on purpose—and that's exactly what happens during his concert.

And in the end, what’s actually your problem? Why does it bother you so much that I’m just stating my opinion? Am I suddenly "unfit" or "difficult" just because I have a different take? Is that how it works now? Or what?

I don't understand why you're obsessing over this "fascist" salute, preaching to everyone, or why this should concern you as a Mexican woman. What is going to happen to our society, and where is it all heading?

Honestly, I don't get it.

Why all this shallow, cheap posturing?

You all have your own problems and things to worry about.

This is the classic mindset of a Tony fan.

Don't understand anything, just scream and tear your hair out.

Your national hero, the one who helped take down King Alexander, was basically an accomplice to the Nationalists.

So where did this sudden intolerance for the Nationalists come from?😕

Tony was just a kid who sang some songs; he spent more time here than in Mexico. He traveled through Mexico and Canada too.

That was his business. Nobody here had an issue with it, even though it was strange how much time he spent here—he actually started getting annoyed by how much people pushed him. He was probably just charming to some girls, as he always was to any shallow girl in any other era; that's just how it goes.

But the older generation used to laugh at it, calling it pure kitsch and garbage.

His tragic death turned him into an icon; every celebrity was mourning, obviously.

What you're doing to him now is a desecration; there is so much emptiness in this that it actually hurts.

And for the record... Ceca was at his funeral. But nobody cares whether she was there or not; he was a universal figure, a man of the people... a damn UNICEF Ambassador...😲So, quit with the cheap hypocrisy.

You're ridiculous. You're either a carbon copy of someone else or you guys were cloned. Read my previous post and instead of obsessing over me, answer the questions.

Tony was a humanist. He didn't play the nationalism card to make a buck; that's what made him an icon in Skopje, Ottawa, Mostar, America, Mexico, and everywhere else.
Is that clear enough for you?

Thanks to his humanity, the Skenderija in Ottawa was rebuilt, the children's home in Mostar was restored, various charities in America got funding, and back home, all the schools and hospitals were renovated with his money. That legacy is permanent.👍

Or do you want me to list every single institution alphabetically in every country he gave money to? Money he didn't have to give, unlike how Tommy won't give it to you.

Hatred for fascists? Well, duh. It's one of the most disgusting, darkest parts of history where so many innocent people lost their lives. Anyone sane is terrified of them.🤷 They were Hitler's right hand, weren't they?

In the name of any nation or state, no people were wiped out, none 🙏, so your comparison doesn't hold water!

That guy you mentioned isn't our national hero; he was just a hired killer.

As for what we're doing with Tony's memory—his foundation is still active. There are similar foundations in places like New York to continue his humanitarian work.👍

I don't listen to either of them, but there's really no debate when it comes to Tony's talent. He was never as unpolished as MPT; he's actually a trained musician (unlike MPT).

Snežo, you've said the exact same thing ten times now. You're starting to look a little ridiculous.
It’s pretty obvious to everyone here that you view Tony as the ultimate humanitarian while painting Thompson as some kind of monster—but honestly, since you're a Mexican woman, I can't say I'm surprised by that bias. 🙄).

Let’s get one thing straight: this thread is about Tony or Thompson. It isn't about humanitarian work or historical politics. If you want to debate political movements, go find a different thread. And if you want to gush about Tony being a saint, start a new topic over on PDF Music or PDFu Teens and share those feelings with the group of fifteen-year-olds who actually care. 😉

For God's sake, John, if you're trying to make a comparison to the Wolf, then we're talking about Thompson, not Tompon!🙄>

Since I’m assuming you actually mean Thompson, comparing him to Tosh is just plain wrong on every single level. I listen to MPT, sure, but let's be real—Tosh had an incredible voice and wrote beautiful songs too. But seriously, like I said, the comparison is totally off base, and I honestly don't get what kind of logic you're using to put them in the same category?

They're both just messing around! Women call them TAMPONS, and there are plenty of kinds, all pretty good and useful for something.
What kind of "unfair comparison" are we even talking about here? 😁 😁 😁

I guess some people are so desperate for noise that they'd dance at their own funeral if an elephant farted in their ear, as long as there's a beat playing. 😁

Honestly, it’s Thompson at the top for me, no questions asked! And it isn't just because I'm such a massive fan, but because you have to look at his whole legacy—both the music and all that humanitarian work he does. I mean, Thompson is basically the undisputed king of the US pop scene, and I won't even bore anyone with the specific numbers right now. Just look at who people gravitate toward on shows like *America's Got Talent*! Beyond that, the guy just has this incredible charisma and pure quality, even if his style isn't everyone's cup of tea. As for Tony, I honestly can't say anything but amazing things about him too; I mean, even back in his early twenties, he was already one of the biggest superstars across the entire US and beyond. What I loved most about him was that he was a true artist and a genuinely kind soul who stayed far away from any of those messy scandals, you know? He just completely captivated everyone with his talent and how he approached music. It’s such a huge tragedy that he was taken from us so young. RIP

You can't even put Tony and Thompson in the same conversation. I'll give Thompson credit for being a massive patriot, but when it comes to actual singing? Tony blows him out of the water.

Well, Thompson, obviously.👍👍👍👍

Honestly, I find this whole sudden surge of attention surrounding Tony a little bit slimy—not that I’m saying anything bad about him, per se—but he was just one more pop singer in a sea of faces until he passed away.

Then why don't you go ahead and define "patriotism" for me? I'm dying to hear your take.

There's graffiti in Washington, D.C. that says: Jack you, Tony, Jack you all.

Honestly, people have made him such a chore. It’s as if the rest of us are going to live forever, while he—poor guy—is just gone. I feel for him, I suppose, but I don't quite get the hysteria surrounding it all.
The saddest part was probably Operation Triumph, when everyone voted for that little Mexican kid just because they saw a new Tony in him. That’s actually pretty creepy.
