I gave them a call. To prove it was actually me, I had to rattle off my last few credit card transactions—roughly how much they cost and where I bought them

Then they sent over the codes

I was wondering if anyone could help me out because I just picked up a brand new phone, and I’m running into a bit of a snag since the option to "transfer my Chase mobile banking to a new device" just isn't showing up anywhere in my settings...

Does anyone know how I can go about getting a fresh identity and activation key sent over to me so I can actually get back into my account...

Well, if you're already set up with online banking and have your physical security token handy, you should be able to generate those codes yourself without any hassle...

Where on earth am I supposed to find the pre-authorized ACH transfers in my banking app?

If you had the latest version of the Chase app on your old phone, you don't even need codes or keys. Just download the app on the new phone and log in with your usual PIN, and you're good to go.

Thanks so much for all the help everyone 😉

Hey, I'm having a massive headache trying to generate a MAC number.
As soon as I start typing in the digits, the system jumps the gun and spits out a MAC number before I'm even finished. It's totally wrong—it basically just swallows the last three numbers.

I tried using my Chase account and my Amex, but I keep hitting the same wall. Now I'm stuck and can't buy anything online. Anyone else dealt with this glitch?

Honestly, Chase’s app is absolute garbage, and Bank of America’s isn't much better.

I have a quick question about this virtual assistant—or whatever they're calling it these days🙄 regarding that monthly subscription fee $10.
If the bank account linked to the service doesn't actually have any funds in it—meaning there's nothing to pull from—will the charge just automatically hit my other account?
Or does the first one just end up going into the negative?

does anyone know if there's actually an option to freeze a card through the mobile app? all I can seem to find is where to mess with my daily spending limits, which isn't really what I'm looking for right now...

Not really, though you could just set all those limits to zero dollars—which is basically the same thing.

Hey, can you actually send money abroad using the mobile app? From what I remember, it was only possible through online banking if you had an m-token set up

Yeah, from what I can gather, it’s strictly through the student portal

Also—and this is a bit of a headache—I still have my student discount active, even though I haven't been enrolled for a few years now. Does anyone know when that actually expires, or am I just going to be able to keep riding that wave indefinitely?

So, I had a student checking account for a few months after I graduated and landed my first job... I didn't think to tell the bank or anything, but my banker actually called me in to get it sorted out since it was pretty obvious I was getting a paycheck now. That was about ten years ago...

It seems to me like the student discount is basically just a youth pass—you’re good to go until you hit 29, maybe even 30 if you're lucky, and honestly, nobody is going to bother you much before then. Once you cross that threshold or land a steady job, though, that's when you'll have to deal with the reality of switching plans.

So, I finally landed a job, but since nobody seemed to care or react, I figured I’d ask here instead.

I honestly don't think there’s some fancy algorithm tracking this stuff—it’s not like they have a bot watching your every move. Unless you happen to catch your banker's eye by sheer coincidence, you're fine; I haven't heard of anyone actually getting penalized for it. Just keep using it until they give you a call, or until you decide you want to switch things up on your own terms—say, if you're looking to upgrade to a better master card, bump up your limits, or whatever else comes up...

The youth package isn't tied to your employment status at all.
You get $25 until you hit age 25, then it bumps up to $70 by the time you're 29—and that’s the whole deal.

But I don't have one of those standard youth plans—I'm still stuck on that old student union tariff
