Steven Reed said:Both options function as bundled accounts (or rather, 😍 services where you pay a monthly fee to cover everything included in the package 😉)
The distinction lies in the fact that the basic banking assistants don't bundle credit cards—you can have them, sure, but they’ll hit you with an annual fee rather than being part of the flat monthly rate—whereas the premium bundles include one or more credit cards as part of the membership. There is also the matter of overdraft limits: the assistant tops out at $3333, while the premium tiers go up to $30,000 or even higher depending on which tier you pick (and, obviously, based on your salary). Then there's the interest rate on those negative balances—the premium bundles offer much lower rates—plus the number of fee-free transactions, which is higher in the bundles since, well, you're paying more for them. It goes on and on...
@Kimberly Nguyen sorry, I know this post is a bit of a mess, but take a look at the clock (😵) 😍

Someone’s clearly keeping her awake. 😉
Man, such cute little problems.

Now I realize the problem is actually me—someone finally caught on to what Steven Reed was trying to say...

@Susan Ward4 ... worries are sweet, 😍 alright, honey-sweet 😍 when I spend my entire day dealing with nothing but breasts and diapers 🤣 😂 ... as for sex? Is that even something you can eat? 🤔

My husband has that $20 fan, so we dropped by our local banker's office the other day to cancel it—we just don't need it. Everyone manages their household budget differently... we decided we aren't handing over $240 annually because we don't touch credit cards. We don't need an overdraft either; we live within our means and still manage to save. Honestly, the woman practically started foaming at the mouth... we were caught completely off guard. We've known her for years—she's been our personal banker through everything from various accounts to our mortgage... so when she started hysterical, we were speechless. She actually asked how people like us expect to get by in the real world without a credit card?? I calmly explained that I pay for everything with my debit card—it works for me because I can see my balance and transactions in real-time, and I have no interest in dealing with monthly installments. Then she went off about "unforeseen circumstances"... insurance, emergency repairs, subscriptions... anyway, we didn't have time for the lecture, so we told her we'd come back the next day to finalize things, sticking to our guns. She called me the following day to apologize for her outburst... though she made sure to mention she still thinks we're making a mistake.

hahaha...unbelievable...I seriously love it when people try to tell me what I need...I had such a massive letdown today...so, I started asking about a mortgage payment moratorium since I'm on maternity leave and my paycheck is basically gonna be the same amount as my monthly payment...and they were just so "helpful," telling me I can either pay ONLY the interest (which is basically 75% of the installment anyway) or I can give them an extra 3% APR on the total remaining balance (around $3667)...I mean, who actually thinks that's a good deal? Where's the benefit in that? Calling it a "moratorium" is a joke if it doesn't even actually defer the payments...and I was only looking for 6 months, not 10 years...honestly, I think I'll skip the freeze altogether. If I can swing $1,800, I might as well just pay the full $2,300 installment and call it a day.

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of nonsense? What ended up happening for you guys?🤷🤷🤷

Hey there...
I was wondering if using a Zaba fan (or pretty much any kind of fan) actually lowers the interest on my negative checking account balance or the interest on my GO card? And if it does, by how much?
Thanks... 🙂

The interest rate on those supplemental premiums varies depending on which Zaba fan tier you’re in—which, if you ask me, sounds absolutely ridiculous 😂. Everything is laid out right there on their official websites... here is the link to the dynamic breakdown... and as for the Go! plan? I honestly don't think

My husband and I both have the Optimum model and an e-account. Since we aren't interested in carrying any credit cards or paying for insurance, I'm wondering what happens regarding that Zaba fan? I mean, why should we be stuck paying more than $13 a month if we don't want any of those extra services—which, let's face it, usually just feel like the bank finding new ways to pick our pockets?

There are also those "payment assistant" packages starting at $6.75 per month—which, if you ask me, basically bundle everything you’re already doing anyway (online banking, checking accounts, and various free digital transactions).

Peter Barnes82 said:What’s the deal with those new Zaba fan bundles?
Word on the street is they want to scrap all the current "Plan 1" options. Then, they’ll basically force us into these Fan deals where the cheapest one starts at $20...
People are actually making more money these days... 🤣

Here’s my take: I had the old All-in-One plan and was perfectly happy with it ($13 per month). One of the perks was getting a free paper statement mailed to my house once a month. Well, last month I was basically forced to sign up for one of these "Dynamic Fan" bundles because—get this—the teller tells me the All-in-One plans are being phased out and I *have* to pick a bundle. I told her: I don't want any new bells and whistles, just what I had before. She goes, "But you get mobile banking and this and that..." I said: I don't want it, I just want what I had at the same price. She keeps pushing the mobile app... I told her, LOOK, I DON'T NEED OR WANT ANY OF THIS... just give me the old setup! She insists, "Fine, but you'll still get the app..." (grrrrrrrrrr) and then lists more stuff (I don't even want to type it all out) and says it'll cost $20 per month and it's mandatory since the All-in-One options are being discontinued. Take it or leave it. So, I signed. Since I have a negative balance at the bank right now, I can't just close everything immediately. But then, I check my account on the Net a few days later and see they already charged me $0.83 for the monthly statement that used to be free. Decision made—I'm closing my account at Chase within the next two months and they won't be seeing me again...

And you’re just rolling over without even checking your options first...
Honestly, one of those paid digital assistants would probably be enough for you. You say you don't want them because you plan on tracking everything through the Net. Besides, most banks are hiking up fees for paper statements anyway—it's their way of forcing everyone onto online banking. Plus, it's better for the environment than wasting tons of paper.

BTW, for the experts here, can you actually cancel the Zaba fan SMS alerts? I've had a digital assistant since $10, and I'm paying $1.75 a month for the Zaba fan SMS service, but it's basically useless at this point. I'm not about to throw $1.75 away for nothing. 🙂

Kimberly Lopez65, just drop by the local branch and tell them you want to cancel the SMS alerts—it’ll be handled in a heartbeat.

Anyone working at Chase want to weigh in here? Stopped by my local branch today to ask about credit cards. Everything seemed fine—they even sent me over to my personal banker. He’s looking through my profile and goes, "Okay, you've got the Gold Visa, the Gold Mastercard, you meet all the requirements, plus the SP+..."

The question is, what the hell is SP+? Is it just some client credit score thing or some other useless metric? 🤷

I honestly think they’re making these bundles a prerequisite for getting any actual service. Every single time I’ve walked into a Chase branch lately, there’s been a representative trying to force those packages on me. It doesn't matter how many times I explain that if they're truly moving toward an "all-in-one" flat rate, then I want everything unbundled right this second. And yet, they still won't just do it.
They are incredibly pushy—honestly, it's exhausting. To give you an example, when a woman offered me one of these deals for the first time, I asked her to price out every single item I have individually, outside of the bundle—and guess what? When I added up the standalone costs, it actually came out cheaper than the package deal! She was standing right there in front of me and didn't even have an answer. Then, when I bring this up to the other reps who try to sell me on these things, they start making excuses about "valuable services" like roadside assistance or glass repair coverage, which, let's be real, nobody ever actually uses. I told her straight up: my car is brand new, so I don't need a tow truck, and I live in a high-rise apartment, so I really don't worry about someone breaking my windows.
I'm still sitting here waiting for them to unbundle everything—which is obviously a total joke, considering they've been talking about phasing out these old structures for months, yet I'm still stuck with that same old "all-in-one" setup.

Could someone please tell me a bit more about the Chase Bank senior account?

Who is this actually intended for? From what I can see, the fee is just $3.25 per month. Also, does having this account mean I’m eligible for that 50% discount on the annual Mastercard membership fee??

It honestly feels a little too inexpensive for today's standards, so I was wondering if anyone here might have some insight...

Thanks!

The Zaba fan is strictly for those who have retired. I suppose if you want to challenge that, you’ll need to provide proof of your pension status.
