Have you finally finished tapering off the Velfax? Or are you still in the thick of it? Once you make the jump over to the Zoloft, I’d suggest starting slow—maybe just a quarter dose every three or four days—until you eventually hit that 75mg mark. If things get a little bumpy with side effects, just reach for an anxiolytic like Xanax or whatever else you have on hand... that should help everything settle down quickly, though you might get lucky and skip the side effects entirely! Personally, I never had any issues with Zoloft even when I was up at 5 mg; it really worked wonders for my anxiety.

Guys, I need help!!

So, I started taking half of a 50 mg Zoloft pill about four days ago. Yesterday was rough, but today? Today is straight-up killing me!!! I’ve seriously never felt this bad in my entire life... I feel like I'm actually going to crawl out of my own skin. I even popped an unspecified 0.25, but it did absolutely nothing for me!!!
Are these kinds of brutal side effects actually normal?! I am low-key freaking out here....

The Zoloft worked wonders for me initially. Though, after maybe just a single pill, I did start feeling those side effects—roughly in the same ballpark as what you're describing. You have to keep in mind that it's just part of the process, I suppose... my body has adjusted by now, though I still get these little waves of discomfort periodically after a certain dose, but once they pass, I feel totally renewed. If it helps at all, it will pass 🙄
I’ve also found that it works much better if I take it at night—maybe even right before bed. I don't have those dark, existential thoughts about life 😁, I sleep more soundly, and I feel fine the entire next day. So, perhaps that might be worth a try?

But if you're truly feeling this bad, why not check in with your doctor?

Are you still on it? How are you holding up now?!

Yes, I am still using it to manage tension headaches 😵 (it’s almost like a new way to release pressure... my mental stress eventually manifested physically—I was quite lucky though, because my neurologist is also a neuropsychiatrist, a real expert who truly knows his stuff 😁 ).
I feel good—much better than I did before... knock on wood 😁🎉

I mostly hang out on the OKP forums, but I pop in here every now and then.
I finally managed to get myself off Ambien.
Honestly, I thought it was going to be impossible, but I actually did it.

I used to take 10 mg of Ambien.
My doctor told me they wouldn't prescribe it anymore because I’d been using it way too long—apparently, the new rules say you can only get it for maybe two or three weeks max.
So, I started cutting my dose in half to 5 mg and took some 0.25 mg Valium along with it for a week.

After that, I dropped down to just a quarter pill of Ambien and kept taking the Valium for another week.

Then I moved on to just taking the Valium. Now? I'm not even touching that anymore.

I'm just sticking to my regular prescribed meds now.

Anyway, I just wanted to reach out and encourage anyone else here who's trying to kick Ambien. Just wanted to say that it really is possible.

Hays. Not yet, I need to finish this month before seeing my doctor. As for the Zoloft, the weakness and feeling totally lost were awful—it was so bad I almost quit. But I'm at 50 mg now along with the 75 mg of Effexor, and things have stabilized a bit. I'm definitely using Xanax though, otherwise I wouldn't make it. We'll see how it goes🙄. It’s just been way too much adjusting to Effexor with all those side effects, and now this...🤦.
I guess humans can handle just about anything though.....

I started on half a 50mg pill a week ago, then moved up to the full dose last Sunday. It was awful—just weakness, jitters, feeling totally lost. I almost quit, but somehow I didn't. I take Xanax, and honestly, it's the only thing saving me. I can tell you that things finally leveled out for me yesterday and today, so maybe just hang in there as long as you can. How are you feeling right now? Maybe try asking about an anxiolytic.

So you basically started on 25 mg? Try taking a stronger dose of Misar—if that doesn't do the trick, you really need to call your doctor. Zoloft isn't the only option out there.🙂

Ivona and Rejica, thanks for the input...

The thing is, I'm 20 weeks pregnant and my conscience is absolutely eating me alive because of this Zoloft, so now I'm terrified of touching any Xanax... Honestly, I popped a 0.25 Misar yesterday and it did zero for me, so I figured if the anxiety meds aren't even working, why bother poisoning myself for nothing?

I know, I know—taking ADs while pregnant isn't exactly winning any prizes, but I was hitting a breaking point. The panic attacks were just getting too intense to handle...

Is anyone taking Eglonyl alongside an antidepressant? I'm curious to hear about your experiences.

Day 5 on Zoloft. Just tried to go for a quick walk to clear my head, but I could barely even move because there’s this weird pressure behind my eyes. It feels like I can't focus on anything—honestly, it's like my eyes don't even belong to me.

Is this what derealization feels like? And can Zoloft actually pull this kind of stunt?

Yeah, maybe. It's definitely possible.

Anyone else out there taking Lyrica? My stomach is seriously bloating up. I can actually feel this constant pressure in my gut... honestly, at this rate, I’m gonna look like I’m pregnant by next week.

My appetite has definitely gone up, too, though I'm trying my best to hold back.
Loud noises are driving me crazy lately, and crowds just totally set me off. I get so incredibly agitated when things get hectic.
I just hope I don't end up slapping someone in public, haha.😠

Now my face is breaking out in eczema—just these little blisters everywhere. I can't tell if it's the meds or if some new moisturizer I used is messing with me.

That sounds like textbook derealization, and if you haven't experienced it before, it's certainly possible that the Zoloft is the culprit.
It generally tends to subside as your body adjusts over time.

However, one shouldn't rule out the possibility that it's simply a result of low blood pressure, assuming you struggle with that.
