Everything just smelled off to me, so I could only stomach watermelon 😂😁

Then the nausea and vomiting hit.. non-stop, day and night, for four months straight...

granitewolf422 said:Hey moms, I have a question and would really appreciate some input... Basically, I’m on birth control, but I’ve been incredibly flaky with it. I miss days and then try to make up for it by taking two or three at once. I haven't been using protection because I'm relying entirely on these pills. My cycle is usually as precise as a Rolex—I take my last pill on Thursday and get my period Friday morning—but this time it didn't show up until Monday night. It wasn't a huge delay, but it was light. About a week before this happened, I felt this weird pressure in my lower abdomen, my breasts are sore 😁, and I have these splitting headaches, which is unusual since I rarely get them. I've also been running to the bathroom constantly, day and night. Now I'm wondering if this could actually be IT... I need an opinion from an experienced mom or someone who's been pregnant. Just to reiterate: I AM ON THE PILLS (even if I am inconsistent about it). Thanks

👎 NEVER, and I mean NEVER, take 2 or 3 pills at once to catch up because you aren't actually making up for the day you missed... those are hormones, girl... do you realize what you're doing to your body?

Can't you see this post is an absolute classic?
I mean... a classic troll job, honestly. 🙂

My period is currently eight days late, and honestly, I’m not feeling any specific symptoms other than this nagging pressure in my lower abdomen. I decided to take matters into my own hands and tried an HCG one-step quick test at 17 days past ovulation, but it came back negative. Then, at 21 DPO, I grabbed a Clearblue—or maybe just a cheaper drugstore version—and saw a faint line; it was much thinner and lighter than the control line. To be safe, I headed over to my OBGYN, where they ran another test at 22 DPO, which turned out negative. Later that evening, I tried a Primastick test and it looked negative initially, but after about 20 or 30 minutes, a line appeared that was as bold as a house! Of course, the instructions specifically warn that reading the test after thirty minutes can result in a false positive...

What do you all think?

Well, that’s exactly why I opted for a blood test to check my beta hCG levels. With those results, there isn't any guesswork involved; I knew exactly where I stood immediately. I’d highly recommend doing the same.

But where would I even go in New York City to get that done? And do I actually need a referral from a doctor for it? I don't have a primary physician here in NYC at the moment. :/

I usually just go private; they typically email the results within about three hours. You could try Saltzer near the intersection of Washington and Lincoln, or the Labor Center at the end of Main Street (it’s near a plaza, though I can't recall the name). There's also the Breyer Center over at 191 Main Street, and I believe Sun Clinic offers the same service. You might also want to call the endocrinology lab near Petrov (that small, low-rise building right behind the Petrov hospital) to ask about their walk-in rates without a referral. I paid roughly $43 at Saltzer, though I worry you might have already spent quite a bit on those intensive tests. A few years back, I used the outpatient wing at Petrov Beta, but there was a waiting period of several days—so if you head there, definitely ask when the results will be ready. If you go private, they'll have them processed the same day.

Hello everyone! I would be so grateful if someone could help me with a few questions...

Basically, I've been driving myself crazy for a few days now. My last period started on April 25th, and my cycle is usually about 25 days (give or take one). On May 3rd, I had unprotected sex (withdrawal method), so there's a chance I might be pregnant (which is just the reality of the situation right now). Since then, I felt some cramping last Thursday that felt just like pre-period discomfort, and that evening I noticed some light pink discharge. As for other symptoms—increased urination, itching, or burning—none of that is happening. This discharge lasted until today, but since this morning, it’s turned a light brown color and remains very minimal (just a tiny spot on a liner). I realize there are plenty of possibilities—like ovulation or maybe an infection—that could explain this, but I'm also terrified of an unplanned pregnancy. Since I have to wait for my appointment at the Sun Clinic, the uncertainty is starting to get to me... I wanted to ask when is the earliest I can get a blood test for Petrov Beta, and when would be the soonest I could take an at-home test? There is still quite a bit of time before my period is due, and the suspense is killing me. Thank you!

You can generally take a test about 9 to 10 days after ovulation—so roughly 1 to 4 days before your period arrives—though if implantation happens a bit later than usual, you might still see a negative result.

Thanks for getting back to me... I guess all I can do now is wait. 😢 What’s really tripping me up is this discharge paired with that pre-period discomfort; it's just never happened to me before (maybe just a little sharp twinge on one side right around ovulation)...

Hey ladies,

I was wondering if any of you have ever dealt with something as weird as what happened to me recently... I used a Clearblue digital test and the thing just completely lost its mind. First, it showed the little hourglass icon while waiting, then it flickered for five seconds, then it threw an error code, and it just kept cycling through those glitches every few seconds until I finally pulled the battery out and popped it back in. Even then, it kept acting up. Since I couldn't stop thinking about it, I actually decided to crack the device open to see what was going on inside. On the test strip itself, there were two blue lines—the control line was nice and dark, but the second one was a very pale blue. I’ve been reading stuff online saying digital tests can sometimes react to LH levels, though I didn't see anything about that in the actual instructions. To make matters more confusing, three other standard tests I took had lines so faint I wasn't even sure if they were showing up at all...

What do you guys think? Has anyone else had these kinds of crazy experiences with digital tests?

best, :-)

Digital tests always show two lines when they work. You just can't seem to read a single strip properly.

Go grab a basic test from a drugstore—they're only about five bucks. Just take it in two days using your first morning urine, and if you're pregnant, it should show up.

So... I’ve got four positive pregnancy tests here—and I don't mean those faint, questionable lines that make you question everything, but actual, undeniable positive lines—from several different brands... yet my beta levels came back at zero. Wtf????? 😕

I honestly can't trust the tests anymore, and I certainly can't trust my own body. This just doesn't feel right at all.

Next time, I am absolutely not wasting any more money on these things... I'll just wait until my doctor gives me the official word or until I actually start showing... this level of disappointment is honestly just beyond anything I thought was possible...

😢🙂

So, when’s the best time to take a test in my situation? We didn't actually have sex, but things got a little heated... I get that sperm isn't exactly leaking out of a finger, but there's a chance some pre-cum was left on his hands, I don't know... 🤷 basically, this happened on June 11th, and I was supposed to get my period on the 14th. It hasn't shown up yet, which is weird because it’s never been late before and I'm not even stressed out. I honestly have no idea why, and it would be pretty ridiculous if I were pregnant since we didn't even go all the way... 😲
Anyway, I just want to take a test so I can stop overthinking everything in my head... can I take one now, or should I wait a bit longer?? thanks 🙂

So you're about a week late? You can take a test today. Or, if you want to skip the guesswork, go to a private lab like Quest Diagnostics this Friday and get a blood test for beta hCG. You'll get results the same day, and they're 100% accurate. It costs about $50, no brainer. 😉

Hey ladies. 🙂 Look, less than a year ago, I dealt with a similar "issue." And hey, don't blame me for having unprotected sex. 😍 We know the risks; we aren't oblivious to what could happen. (And honestly, part of me wouldn't mind if it did, 😍) But this month, my period showed up on June 14th, three days earlier than usual. It only lasted four days, whereas normally I’m looking at eight or nine. It was lighter, too—barely anything the first day, two days of normal flow, then tapering off by day four. After spiraling through thousands of symptom lists online—including the fact that spotting can actually happen during pregnancy—I started freaking out. For several nights now, I've been getting up to pee constantly. I also have some white discharge, though according to my calendar, it could just be ovulation. Has anyone here been in this exact spot and actually ended up pregnant? 🤷

Crickets. Not a single response from anyone here. 😢 I check this thread every damn day, but it’s just a ghost town. I was hoping for at least a little bit of encouragement. To add to the update: the white discharge has stopped. If ovulation actually happened, it's clearly over by now. Honestly... I’m feeling pretty low about it all, but I’m not throwing in the towel until 😠 finally arrives.
