Hey guys, I really need some help here... I don't even know what to think right now. My husband and I have been trying to conceive, and today is day 28 since my last period—but I usually get mine around day 26 or 27. So, things are already feeling a bit off. I ended up taking five different tests. Two of them were Clearblue from $8.75 and both came back positive! But then I did three cheapo sticks from $17 and all three of those were negative!!! What am I even supposed to do with this????? 🤷

It’s possible it might just be too early—meaning, maybe there isn't enough hCG in your urine yet for the PrimaStick to pick up. I think I've read elsewhere that Clearblue tends to be a bit more sensitive 🤷
Just try testing again in two days.

For what it's worth, I had a very faint line on a PrimaStick really early on—before my period was even late (though I knew exactly when I ovulated). I ended up buying the Clearblue one—the more expensive version—and the plus sign was definitely easier to see than on the PrimaStick. Still, it was pretty pale. I guess that's just because the hormone levels in your system are still so low.
Seriously though, just wait and retest in maybe two days.

So, back when I first found out I was pregnant—and man, I didn't even suspect a thing because my stomach was cramping so bad—I honestly thought I was just dealing with some nasty period pains. I mean, I totally had this idea in my head that being pregnant meant you wouldn't feel any discomfort at all, which, looking back, was such a naive way to think about it 🙂 By then, I was already almost a week late, and the test turned positive immediately! Now I’m just sitting here spiraling, trying to process everything... Honestly, my biggest stressor right now is work. My job is pretty physically demanding and I'm worried about whether I can actually keep up with the heavy lifting, which is terrifying! I did read somewhere that those Clearblue tests are pretty spot-on with their accuracy, so fingers crossed that's true 🙂

I am hoping someone can provide some clarity here because I am feeling quite uncertain. My period is now eight days late. I took a pregnancy test five days ago and it was negative. However, since I have had intercourse since then, I decided to test again today. Initially, the result appeared negative, but after more than ten minutes, I noticed a second line that is extremely faint.😕The instructions on the box state that results should not be read after the ten-minute mark.😕I am truly at a loss as to whether I am pregnant or not.🤷Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation?

Just retake the test. It’s probably best to wait another two days—because if you are pregnant, the line should show up sooner and be much clearer by then.

Ladies, could breakouts on my face be an early sign of pregnancy?

To be honest, over the last few days, my face and neck have been completely covered in breakouts. I feel like I’m back in middle school—and truth be told, I didn't even deal with this much acne during actual puberty. Usually, I don't really struggle with it during my cycle either; maybe one or two spots at most. I'm just completely baffled as to why this is happening now.

Then there's this intense emotional sensitivity... I mean, I wouldn't say I've always been particularly tough—I tend to cry easily enough—but this current state feels overwhelming. Tears just start flowing for absolutely no reason. For instance, yesterday, I was out grabbing coffee with my partner at Starbucks, and I suddenly just started tearing up. Normally, I'm the type of person who wouldn't shed a tear in public even if my life depended on it. I'm just so confused.

Quoting myself from another thread:
I’ve been MIA here for a bit... ugh, my period is nowhere to be found, though honestly, it's always super irregular for me (usually anywhere from 28 to 40 days). Right now, my stomach is cramping so hard I feel like I'm about to get my period, but nothing is happening. I had some brownish spotting about 10 days ago—today is actually day 39—and it lasted for two days, then stopped, then came back for a few more days before finally disappearing (it was total chaos for like 3 or 4 days). I took a pregnancy test today, but since I didn't use my first morning urine, it came back negative.
Back during my first pregnancy, I had implantation bleeding for just one day and then tested positive right around day 37... plus, I had almost these exact same symptoms.
I really need to head to the OBGYN, right?

Update: It’s actually day 40 now (my bad, I miscounted earlier, it wasn't 39)... I did a stick test using my first morning pee and it was negative. Still no period, everything hurts, and my breasts are definitely swelling up. Honestly, I don't even think there's much of a chance I'm pregnant. I tried calling my doctor, but her office is slammed and they're closed for the next three days. Should I just wait until next week for an appointment, or should I try testing again?

I would simply take another test in a few days.
If your period fails to show up, you should certainly visit your doctor to determine the underlying cause.

Thanks so much, Jacob White37! Honestly, I think I'm gonna skip the testing again... such a bummer, right? But hey, I'll just head straight to the in-laws next week instead...

I dealt with that same uncertainty a few months ago and ended up buying the cheapest test available, I believe it was $5.25. Regardless, since I use a private clinic, a full exam would cost me significantly more than a 😁 test anyway, and I started my period the very next day ☕ regardless, so good luck with whatever you're hoping for.

Honestly, I haven't even thought about what kind of...🙂 I’m just sticking with Social Security for now since it’s cheaper and way more reliable. And hey, maybe something better will pop up in the meantime 🙂

Nah, I just skimmed it... you read it fine 🙂
elvital - just hold off until January 13th before you run the test.

Hey everyone :-)
So... I took a pregnancy test yesterday morning and it came up positive.... then by the afternoon, it was negative. Same thing happened again this morning. I burned through three tests just yesterday, and since it's Sunday, nothing is open... my appointment with the OBGYN isn't for another two weeks. But honestly, what the hell is going on? Has anyone else dealt with this before? What could this even mean... I haven't got a clue. First it's positive... then it's negative, it's kind of ridiculous and 🤷

If that first morning urine was positive, then in my opinion, it’s a positive. For instance, I took a test on day 28 of my cycle and saw that faint second line indicating pregnancy, and I really was pregnant.

When was your last period? Are your cycles usually regular or irregular?

You should always use your first urine of the morning for a pregnancy test; you shouldn't have even bothered testing this afternoon. It would have been better to save it and wait to test again in a few days if you think there's no way you could be pregnant.

Man, Justin Baker3, I don't think I've ever even seen your username before, let alone met you, so it makes sense... but honestly, I just want to give you a massive hug right now. I'm seriously so glad you're here :-D

My period is usually pretty on schedule... based on how things usually go, I should be due in about six days, so that's my only real baseline right now. Then there's the OBGYN. And look, you have no idea how much I'm kicking myself for burning through three tests yesterday. I should've just saved one for the morning, obviously, and I'll definitely be testing first thing tomorrow. But I just don't get why it's giving me different results in the morning versus the afternoon...

Oh, I almost forgot... my last period started on December 17th of last year. 😁

Do you have any other pregnancy symptoms that prompted you to take a test this early, like before your period was even due?

It makes sense to me that results might vary in the morning since your urine is most concentrated after sleeping through the night. But honestly, since you tested so early, I'm not entirely sure anymore. Your best bet is to wait for your next period; if it shows up, fine, and if not, just head to Planned Parenthood like you mentioned once you hit your deadline. There's no point in buying more tests right now.

If I'm following you correctly, your period hasn't even been late yet? Generally speaking, you shouldn't even bother with pregnancy tests until you've actually missed your period. If you're only a few days along, it's perfectly normal for tests to be inconsistent—there just might not be enough hCG in your system yet for a clear reading. Though, I'm inclined to agree with Justin Baker3; if you caught a positive result this morning, there's a 90% chance you're pregnant. Save your money and stop buying tests until you see if your period actually shows up. Not that it's a guarantee, though—I've had my period while being pregnant before. Anyway, good luck! 😉

I'm heading straight to CVS first thing tomorrow morning to grab a new test, then I guess I'll just wait a few days and see what happens, damn it. It's like none of you guys have any clue either🤷.
I bought the test because I’ve been feeling nauseous every single morning... it feels like something is actually moving around in my lower abdomen... so I checked the calendar and realized we were most active right during my fertile window
.
And then I get this incredibly "precise" result that says positive-negative🤷

But honestly, I just have this gut feeling that something is actually happening...
