So, I usually have really heavy periods that last about 6 days, on a 30-day cycle. My last one was July 1st.

Back in August, my period was 10 days late.. which was actually the day before I took a pregnancy test and got a positive result.. though the line was super faint. As soon as I saw it, I felt absolutely terrible. I mean, intense stomach cramps, back pain, vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, even passing out..
That lasted for four days, then I took another test (which was negative) and went to see my OBGYN. They did an ultrasound and everything looked totally normal.. but since the test came back negative, the doctor concluded it was just a chemical pregnancy.

This month, my period showed up right on time, but it barely lasted two days... and the test was positive again.. once more, just a barely visible line. No pregnancy symptoms at all, no pain, nothing except maybe some lower back aches..

My doctor basically told me there’s no point in coming in because it’s probably just some hormonal imbalance and that could be messing with the test results?!?!
What do you all make of this..?

Check your thyroid and get another beta hCG blood test—that's really all there is to it. A private doctor I saw once mentioned that false positives can happen due to certain thyroid issues... but in the meantime, definitely get that beta hCG checked again. There's always a chance you actually are pregnant, regardless of what the doctor says.

Look, people might laugh at me or think I’ve completely lost my mind and have no clue what’s going on with my own body.
But let's be real—you notice when your body starts acting weird immediately.

About two weeks ago, I started feeling this intense pulsing in my stomach, like a heartbeat thumping inside my gut. It was totally new.

Pregnancy wasn't even on my radar because my period has always been clockwork.
But last Monday, things went sideways:
Nausea in the morning, burping, bloating, then these pre-menstrual cramps (even though I shouldn't have been due), heavy discharge, visible veins in my groin, more headaches, and random leg cramps. It was just one weird symptom after another all week. I’m usually pretty healthy and I definitely know when something is off.

That’s when the "what if" hit me. I grabbed a pregnancy test—negative. Still felt suspicious, so I bought another one—also negative. Trusting the tests, I went to see my primary care doctor, but she was stumped too. Her advice? Go to an OB/GYN and get some stool samples done...
The thing is, I still feel like something is up. I truly feel pregnant.
The only window where it could have happened was about three months ago, and we were using a condom, though I thought it was my fertile window.

Plus, I’ve had three regular periods since then—same flow, same duration as always. So, I'm basically saying I've been pregnant for three months despite having periods and negative tests... 😕, and by the time the nausea kicked in, I would've been about eleven weeks along.
I’ve been scrolling through forums, and apparently, there are women out there who have dealt with this exact same thing.

I feel okay physically right now, but my stomach feels like it's growing. In the morning it looks flat, but by evening, I look six months pregnant. The veins in my belly and groin are getting more prominent, that pulsing hasn't stopped, and my digestion is a mess—constantly alternating between constipation and diarrhea with non-stop stomach growling.

Obviously, I’m rushing to the OB/GYN, but I wanted to ask anyone with experience: could this actually be pregnancy based on these symptoms? Has anyone else lived through this? I know the comments will be full of people telling me it’s impossible or that I’m making it up, but I really trust my gut on this one.

I would assert that pregnancy is highly unlikely given the use of protection, three missed periods, and two negative tests. If I were in your position, I would insist on seeing an OB-GYN for a full examination and blood work to rule out other issues.

Hey, just got back from the hospital... basically, I headed over to Mercy Hospital on Thursday because my OB said I needed an exam—my HCG levels were climbing, but they couldn't see anything in my uterus. So, I show up around 9 AM and don't actually see a doctor until 2:30 PM. Once Dr. Martin saw my results, things started looking sketchy, so we moved to ultrasound. Then she goes, "Well, I don't see anything outside the uterus..." Honestly, she was muttering to herself, but then her brain finally kicked in and she called for another doctor. He looks at the screen and goes, "What do you mean you don't see it? It's right there." She’s like, "Oh, right," and honestly, I almost lost it—I was about two seconds away from kicking her in the head. Anyway, long story short, I ended up staying in the hospital and surgery was scheduled for the next day. When the doctor came into my room this morning, he told me: "Conception happened in the fallopian tube; we have to remove one." I completely lost it—even though he kept trying to reassure me that everything would be fine without it. They decided to go with a laparoscopy. When I woke up, the doctor explained it was basically like I'd had chlamydia—I'd cleared the infection, but it left behind scar tissue that blocked the egg from reaching the uterus, so it ended up in the tube instead. He said they removed the affected part—it was about 2cm—but they cleaned everything out and didn't have to remove the whole tube or anything. I finally made it home on Sunday and I'm feeling pretty rough today. Just slowly recovering from the whole shock of it all. Dr. Baumann suggested I head to some hot springs in Colorado for about ten days to recover... I'll see if I can make that happen once I check the prices and stuff. For now, I'm just on antibiotics and hoping to feel better soon. Once this treatment is done, my boyfriend and I need to get urine cultures and swabs to make sure there aren't any lingering bacteria before we try for a baby again. I have to admit, after all this, I'm actually terrified of being pregnant—I'm scared it'll just happen all over again...

Is there anything in the instructions that isn't quite making sense? 🤷

I’m honestly terrified I’ll mess this up and end up having to retake the whole course just because of one mistake... I really don't want to screw this up.😢
The instructions are a bit vague to me... it says to remove the cap from the handle and place it over the end of the testing stick. So, does that mean once I take the cap off, I just slide it back onto the end of the stick when I'm finished?
Is that actually what they mean? I'm just worried I'm going to get it wrong...

Just take the cap off, pee on it, and then put the cap back on exactly how it was before—except now there's urine trapped under the cap.

Just take it easy, though. It isn't exactly rocket science, haha. 😁

Good luck!

I was just sitting here thinking about how much I love our little community discussions, because honestly, there’s nothing quite like diving into these deep conversations with all of you... It really makes my day to see everyone sharing their thoughts so openly, and I just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone while I enjoy my morning coffee... kaže:
So, I just got the news from the doctor, and they told me that fertilization actually happened in the fallopian tube, which means we’re going to have to have one removed...

I have to be honest with you all, after everything I’ve just been through, I’m feeling pretty shaken up... I find myself looking toward the future with this heavy sense of dread regarding pregnancy, mostly because I’m just terrified that we might have to go through this exact same ordeal—or perhaps something even more intense—all over again...

Oh my goodness, I was just sitting here wondering, where exactly is this whole fertilization process supposed to take place...

I honestly just feel so bad that it didn't descend into the uterus properly... and I can't help but feel a bit frustrated because I knew exactly what was happening when I could smell that ectopic pregnancy starting...

As for what comes next with the pregnancy, I really think everything is going to turn out just fine... I mean, a close friend of my mom's actually dealt with an ectopic pregnancy between her two kids, and despite how scary that sounds, she ended up being completely okay in the end... 🙂

Hahaha, oh man, I was doing the exact same thing with my research before I even sat down to write my first draft... 😁

Hey there! 🙂 Honestly, I’m sitting here wondering if I might actually be pregnant. My period is a couple of days late, and ever since Wednesday, I’ve been feeling this weird pressure in my lower abdomen—plus some other little changes that I haven't really seen listed as early signs anywhere, so I won't go on about them just to list stuff for the sake of it. I took a test yesterday and it came back negative 🤷 Fingers crossed it was just a bit too early, but... part of me is terrified that I’m just imagining things because I want it so badly. Should I try testing again today or tomorrow, or am I better off just waiting another 3 or 4 days?

So, here’s another one wondering if it’s happening or not 🙂 I only started questioning things today after digging through some early pregnancy symptoms—honestly, it hadn't even crossed my mind that I could be pregnant until now.
Let's walk through the timeline—my boyfriend and I slept together two days after my period ended. No protection. Since it was so soon after my cycle and we hadn't seen each other in ages, we didn't think twice about it. My last period actually lasted quite late this time; usually, it’s four days, but this time it was only two.
About seven days after my period, I dealt with a nasty UTI—stinging, blood in my urine, the whole bit. Since I also had a brutal sore throat at the exact same time, I knocked out an entire course of antibiotics. Once the infections cleared up, I naturally ended up with a yeast infection thanks to the meds.
Just as I finally cleared the yeast infection, something else hit—unbearable breast pain. I've even noticed these tiny blue veins appearing; they feel heavy, and I am just constantly exhausted and sleeping all day. On top of the fact that I don't eat very regularly, I've also noticed I'm getting much hungrier—though I'm still just eating normal three-meal-a-day portions.
My period isn't due for another seven days, but this breast pain has been going on for five.
If I am actually pregnant, this kid is going to be a total hero for surviving all these infections. :P

I don't really know what to tell you regarding whether you are or aren't, I just wanted to say that when I actually got pregnant, my bed became my best friend 🙂 I just wanted to sleep... p.s. we were trying for six months, and every single month I thought I "had symptoms," but when I actually got pregnant, there wasn't a single symptom to speak of—I just knew. I took a test four days before my expected period and the line was so faint I probably needed a microscope to see it, but it was there. 🙂)))

So, here’s the deal—this is what’s going on:
So, okay, looking back at my calendar—last month, the very last day of my period was August 25th—and yeah, that’s when we actually had sex. Just putting that out there, I guess...
Ugh, I’m honestly so stressed out right now—my period is late again this month, and it’s totally throwing me off. Like, it was definitely supposed to show up by now... and the worst part is the physical stuff. My stomach is killing me, my breasts are super sore, and I just have this constant, nagging feeling that it’s gonna start any second, but then... nothing. Just waiting. It's driving me kind of crazy, I guess.
So, I was reading up on this and apparently stress can be a factor—though, honestly, I don't feel like my life has been quite chaotic enough lately for that to be the main culprit, you know? I mean, I did get into a bit of a spat with my husband—nothing major, just one of those things where we both said too much—and then, well, there was definitely way too much wine involved in the aftermath. Plus, I’ve been feeling pretty under the weather for about ten days now... probably just some nasty flu or a cold going around, just constant sneezing and coughing, nothing life-threatening, I guess, but still annoying. And, uh, I think I actually dropped a few pounds, too.
So, I finally had sex last night—it’s been a minute, honestly—and I’ve been kind of spiraling about it ever since... 😁 So, ever since the 2nd—and I’m talking right from when things started going sideways—I went to hit the bathroom and noticed my urine was looking super dark, like this deep, dark yellow color... which, honestly, felt like a pretty solid hint that some blood was about to show up in the mix lol.
Woke up in Chicago this morning—and man, let me tell you, I am sitting at exactly zero points right now. Just nothing. Zilch. Total shutout. 😕
Ugh, I’ve seriously had this weird, nagging feeling all day—like, I'm just waiting for something bad to happen at any second—and my stomach is absolutely killing me. It's just... yeah. Not great.
So, I mean—I guess I just kind of went down the rabbit hole thinking about pregnancy, you know? Like, I just started following that line of thought and just... ran with it. Honestly, there aren't really any actual symptoms or anything yet—aside from the fact that my period is MIA—but still. No dizziness, no morning sickness, nothing like that... just a whole lot of wondering, I suppose.
So I was just sitting here thinking—and honestly, I’m probably overthinking this, which is kind of my thing—like, should I just go ahead and grab a test now, or maybe just hold off for a day or two? I don't know, man. Maybe waiting is smarter, or maybe I'm just stressing myself out for nothing... I guess we'll see.
I mean, obviously I’m planning on hitting up the gynecologist and all that—it’s on my list, for sure—but I’m just waiting until my paycheck actually clears. Money is... well, let's just say things are a little tight right now, so I'm playing it by ear.
So, I guess this is gonna be my first time ever doing this... kind of nervous, maybe? Just a total newbie here, honestly.
So, I’m sitting here wondering what you guys all think... like, what are the actual reasons why she hasn't shown up yet? Is it even possible that I'm pregnant? Should I just go out and grab a test right this second? I don't know—I'm kind of spiraling a bit, I guess. What do you think?
Thanks in advance!

Hey, small world, we're from the same town! hehe
Just go grab a test so you can stop stressing... if even a faint line shows up, that means you're pregnant.

I honestly thought that right away, but a friend told me it might be too early—told me to just hang tight until Monday maybe...

But, I don't know, I guess I could use some other opinions, maybe from people who've actually been through this, who knows...

Hey, do whatever you think is best. Personally, that expensive test gave me nothing but a faint little line, and that was still four days before my period was even due.

So, uh, how much are these things actually running people for? Like, which one is supposed to be the gold standard? What’s the priciest option out there versus the absolute cheapest one you can grab at Walgreens?
