I actually took a look myself, and honestly, the selection is pretty thin. Everything seems overpriced and they aren't even offering free shipping, though maybe I just wasn't looking in the right places.🤷

You absolutely have to check out Dolac Vita over in San Jose. Honestly, they’re going to be part of our wedding spread! We find ourselves popping in there all the time because their cakes are just... perfection. 😉Plus, get this—they actually snagged 2nd place at that big international competition last year!

So I called up the bakery, and the lady on the phone is telling me it’s either $12one whole cake or maybe 40 individual slices—I can't quite remember...
But we’re expecting about 47 guests...
Is that enough? 🤣
Or am I totally overthinking it and it's way too much? 😂

As for the price, yeah, that's wayyyy overpriced...it's only 47 people, at least that's how it looks to me...🤷
But hey, I always just fall back on the "omg, it's my first time getting married, I should be able to have whatever I want" excuse...🤣

It’s just hard for me to commit to that amount, so I figured I’d ask since maybe it’s overkill or something.
Then again, I'm kinda terrified of showing this picture to the woman at the restaurant—you know, the one who's actually making the desserts—because if the final product doesn't look exactly like this photo, what then?
And I'm definitely no genius 🙂

From what I can tell, most people base their pricing on $5.00/slice, so you decide...

Personally, I’d say $20-$8.25/slice is fair—though that really depends on what you're aiming for. Decorations and skill aren't free... plus, high-end ingredients aren't cheap either...
But regarding yours—if the cake is just whatever is sitting on top right now, like that little fondant bow, and nothing else?
I mean, if that bow is truly the most complicated part of the whole design, it isn't worth even $333, at least not in my book.

I stumbled upon this cake yesterday and I called them up immediately just to get a quote—and honestly, I was floored 😲
. I mean, yeah, I’m definitely going to go check out their other options because there is no way this price makes sense for a group of maybe 50 people at most...
Once I read that they provided both the cake and all the pastries for $1200 people serving a crowd of 80, then my initial estimate felt way too expensive
. It is a beautiful cake, though, and I'm really hoping I can find someone who can recreate this exact look for me. I’m pretty lost on this one, so if anyone has a lead on where I could go to get a cake made just like the photo—please, just speak up and help me out 😍

Hey, did you check out Angie cakes yet? Word is they're delicious and look amazing, and they can basically do whatever you want... the owner is from Sesvat and she's on Facebook under that name, so go take a look..😉

Honestly, looking at it, I think those aren't slices from a big cake—they look more like individual mini-cakes rather than actual portions you'd cut from a large centerpiece...
So, if you have 50 people coming, you'd basically need 50 of those little individual treats. That explains why the price is what it is—handling fifty separate items is a massive amount of extra work for the baker—plus, it really depends on how big they actually turn out to be in person...

I'm having Angie's Cakes out of small-town Ohio whip it up for me 😍
They can stack it two or three tiers high—but it'll be the identical design 🙂

The wedding cake is $4.25 per unit. As for the pastries, they're usually around $23/lb.
