Did you guys go in for a tasting, how did you handle the logistics/planning, and were you actually happy with the results? I'm feeling a bit hesitant about making the trip out to Indianapolis if I'm not going to get anything else done while I'm there.

Jonathan Thomas28 said:I met them at a trade show a couple months ago and got the scoop then—haven't actually pulled the trigger yet, so I don't know if they're worth it, but I'm hoping they are 🤣)

they usually ship their stuff to Walmart (at least in my area), so maybe just hit them up and see if they deliver to a Walmart near you. might solve that whole tasting issue...

We picked up their wedding mix at the expo and tried it once we got home. Based on that, we decided to book them. Since we were driving through Indianapolis anyway, we stopped by to ask for a tasting of their cream cakes and wedding cakes. They gave us four pieces to take home, so we signed the contract and paid the deposit right then and there. I plan to handle the rest via email or phone.

Honestly, try to get your hands on some of their desserts if you haven't already. Regardless of what anyone else says about them, they might be perfect for you. Plus, it gives you a chance to see how they treat you in person 🙂

Hilton in Indianapolis

Has anyone ever ordered wedding cakes from that Hilton? Looking for some honest feedback on their quality.

Thanks. 🙂

So, I’m currently scouting out wedding cake toppers—you know, those little plastic bride and groom figurines—and honestly, it blows my mind how much they charge for cheap plastic. Like, $150-$167?! Give me a break. That whole look is getting pretty stale anyway, and it's way too pricey for what it is. So, I decided to just grab some decorative doves from a craft store for maybe $40 total. Then I'll stick two cute little picks in there with some nice paper that says "Happily Ever After". What kind of decor did you guys end up going with?

We didn't bother buying those fancy wedding toppers—instead, we picked up two little dough bunnies from a local bakery, along with some other little animals they’d made. It was all handmade stuff. Honestly, it felt much more special, everyone loved them, and they didn't cost us a dime.

Can someone actually explain what this cookie certificate is all about? Like, what does it look like, what’s on it, and who even issues it? I'm assuming it isn't just some scrap of paper the bakery prints out and signs themselves.

I am not entirely certain what a "certificate" looks like in this context. My understanding is that there must be a receipt provided. Ultimately, the entity that issues the receipt holds legal liability for the product sold—ensuring safety, for instance—and fulfills their tax obligations accordingly.

I was thinking about ordering something like this:

I am not entirely sure about the price, though I assume it should be reasonable.
Another option would be to have the bakery design something custom, but it seems like they charge quite a premium for that service. Plus, I prefer having a keepsake like this sign to hold onto later.

They are selling the signage, not the actual butterflies.😉

Well, they told me in the meeting that the cookies needed to have a certificate. They didn't say a word about receipts. 🤷 Now I'm stuck wondering what the actual certificate is. I'm guessing it's some kind of health inspection document for the baked goods.

I went down the same rabbit hole of thinking about those little bride and groom cake toppers and all that stuff, but I eventually bailed because the prices were ridiculous and honestly, most of what I saw was just tacky.
Instead, I brought out this cake decorated with artificial orchids—literally every single flower was an orchid—and they looked absolutely stunning. 😍

The logo is alright, I guess—but honestly, I wouldn't have even thought about the butterflies if I hadn't seen this.

We’ve decided to go with a playful theme for the cake 😁 featuring Miss Piggy and Kermit holding hands out of fondant on top. 😁 The color scheme will be green and pink.

We weren't fans of those traditional bride and groom toppers; had we opted for an elegant look, we would have just ordered some metallic hearts from Amazon.

I thought I'd ask here too—does anyone have recommendations for great cakes or pastries in San Francisco? Or maybe somewhere that offers delivery out to Sioux Falls?

Hey, has anyone here ordered a custom cake in Savannah or the surrounding areas?
It feels like my options are pretty limited out here.😢

So, what's the plan for serving those tiny little cookies on the tables that stay out for the whole wedding reception?

I will likely go with white plastic trays topped with clear plastic lids; you can find those sold together as a complete set
If not that, then I'll just use airtight containers. It seems pointless to leave them sitting out open where they might dry out or get contaminated by everyone's saliva

Chris Morgan, where can I actually buy one of those?
What’s the deal with them? And does anyone know what you'd even call that in English?

The bakery sent over our pastries on trays with lids. I ended up returning them later.
Go ask the restaurant management about their policy, because they told us those trays absolutely require covers.

My intention was more along the lines of finding something for one-time use, which should be available wherever they stock other plastic goods, though I am unsure about the exact pricing.
I am currently on my Android using Reddit, so it is a bit cumbersome to upload an image here, but you can find some examples at this link:
