I just had an absolute brain fart regarding the oleander🤣—total idiot move on my part (honestly, I'm questioning myself here)🙄

What do you guys think about mint leaves?

😁 yeah, I actually have one at my place, but it didn't exactly win the popularity contest for home decor, haha

I guess if the groom is a Dalmatian, maybe some Swiss chard would work pretty well too! 👍

Give me a break—you don't just find Swiss chard down South. 😁

Both of us are Slavonian, but we weren't really planning on adding any regional flair to the whole thing.😁

Michael Jones23 said:Anyone got ideas for cake decorations? I want strictly natural stuff—not flowers, though. Maybe some leaves from a plant, a tree, or a shrub... just please, no ivy!

So this is gonna be my cake... with a few little tweaks. Instead of those flowers in the photo, I'm doing tiny kale leaves on top. And yeah, I'm keeping the ivy, but I'll coat it in wax first so it's safe.
It looks so good because it’s just simple and clean.

This is what I’m aiming for—well, something along those lines... it’s basically just a photo to give you an idea of the vibe I'm going for
Jesse Ross11, that cake of yours looks absolutely incredible

Check out the Foodie section—there was this user named margarita who made absolutely killer cakes 🙏 The thread was called something like Artistic Creations, and she posted links to all her cake photos. She even talked about starting her own business just doing that! There were a few other girls too, though I can't remember their handles right now, who were basically magicians with frosting. 😍

Take a look, maybe you'll grab some inspiration. 😉

She actually had plans to start her own boutique bakery and just focus on that full-time. There were a few other ladies too, though I can't quite recall their names now, who were doing some pretty miraculous things with sugar and flour. 😍

Go dig around a bit, you might actually stumble onto some inspiration... 😉

I actually spotted that decoration sitting in the window of the Candy shop over on Zvonimirov😁

Ekica said:Hey, listen, if you happen to be passing by Vincek on Zvonimirova, maybe swing by? It doesn't hurt to ask, and who knows, you might run into an even cuter auntie there...

Anyway, if I hear anything, I'll let you know—and please, do the same for me!🙏

Time for my status report: I checked out Vincek over on Zvonimirova and they told me straight up it’s not their own brand. Checked the Candy shop too, nothing. Even hit the Hershey's discount outlet in Oakwood, and still nothing. I even dragged myself over to Walmart just to be thorough, but with about a million different decorations on display, none of them were what we're looking for. 😢

Ladies, any ideas on where else we should look? Ekica already checked everything from Everything and more to the Cheerful shop.

So who’s actually making that cake you need the chocolate bars for? Honestly, it's not even that hard to just DIY it. You just melt some high-quality chocolate for the glaze, toss in a little oil and heavy cream, spread it out on some parchment paper, smooth it with a knife, and shove it in the fridge. Once it sets, you just peel it off the paper and boom—you're done!

It might not look perfectly smooth or factory-made, but I bet nobody will even notice. 😉

You’re totally right... I honestly think that’s exactly how it’s going to go down. I actually ordered my cake from SB
so they better figure it out. I’ve been all over town on my bike, practically circling half the city, and let me tell you—nobody has ever even heard of those famous chocolate bars or pieces.

Michael Jones23, what’s your take on grapevine leaves? Maybe even some little clusters of grapes? A friend of mine had one, and man, it looked incredible!

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. It’s either that or some kind of succulent—I can't remember the name, but it has this gorgeous, tiny shimmer to it.🙂

I think that's a killer idea. A friend of mine did something similar—she had everything themed like that, from custom candy shop boxes to denim jackets, she even worked leaves and grape clusters into her bouquets.

Hey, does anyone know someone in the Indianapolis area or somewhere nearby who makes killer desserts for weddings?
I'm trying to figure out how many pounds I’d actually need for about 150 guests, plus enough extra to fill some gift boxes and stuff for my spouse and me to take to work...

how many pounds of sweets should I even be looking at for about 150 guests? plus the little favor boxes we need to prep... oh, and my husband and I need enough to bring into the office too...

I'm actually wondering the same thing—how much cake and dessert weight am I looking at for roughly 170 people? Again, that includes those little individual gift boxes! Any advice would be huge....😍
