Mom, I have a bit of a mission for you😬—could you track down some cake designs that feature a palette of beige, champagne, and white decorations?😍
Thanks a million, love😘

I’ve already coordinated with the bakery to recreate that second cake from the lineup—the one with the silver pins. It’s going to set me back $367, and while I’m bringing all the decorations myself (except for those little silver beads), the cake needs to serve 170 people.

Honestly, that sounds like quite a steal... from what I’ve gathered while browsing bakery prices around Chicago, you’re usually looking at anywhere from $12 to $5.00 per slice, though I suppose that fluctuates wildly depending on the guest count.

It really is a lovely cake.

Those cakes look incredible. I’m planning on having one for my 4th anniversary... specifically for about 200 guests. It’ll likely weigh around 45 pounds once I finish the $433 sunflower decorations...

I’m thinking about picking up a cake from the Grabar bakery over in Cleveland; I know they have a location in Gajnic too...

So, I wanted to see if anyone here has actually ordered from them before? Any experiences to share?🤷

Oh my god, please, I want one juuuuuust like 🙏
Can someone drop the contact info for that bakery? (Assuming they're actually legit and in the area?)
The thing is, my guest list is closer to 250-300 people...

I’m from the Gajnic area and I’ve stopped by Grabar a few times to grab some sweets... honestly, most of them are pretty terrible. Only their tiramisu is actually any good.

My future maid of honor actually had some experience with them, and unfortunately, it wasn't good. She ordered a cake for a christening, and they did the exact opposite of what she requested. She said the design was tacky beyond belief and she felt embarrassed even presenting it.👎

Help, someone save me!

Is it actually a thing that people hand out little boxes of pastries to guests at the end of a wedding? I'm trying to figure out how weddings usually go over here in the States...

Does that mean you have to order a massive extra batch of desserts from the catering company, or is there some other way to handle it?

That's right, it's pretty standard here too—handing out little favor boxes with treats at the end. Usually, you just make sure every family gets one box to take home.

Thanks for the heads up. So I guess that means I need to step up my game and order way more pastries at the restaurant... and definitely grab some extra pastry boxes too.

I honestly feel like that tradition has mostly faded away, though if it still happens, it definitely still exists.👍

I'm not doing the cookie boxes. Honestly, I don't care much about traditions; I just do what I actually like.👍
I won't even bother with a mountain of dry cookies—which I hate—just a few pounds on the dessert table. Throughout the night, we'll serve the good stuff, like cream pies and cheesecakes...😁

Not really a tradition around here😉
