Why is he acting like this is some massive emergency that just can't wait until Monday? 🤷 And honestly, it's for such a tiny amount of money, too.

I wouldn't even think about sending him anything on a Saturday—I’d wait until I actually see the cash hit my account first.

I don't know, I guess...
$20 It's not a massive amount, but honestly, every dollar counts these days, you know?
If anyone here happens to be a pro at online banking, maybe hit me up and I'll send over a screenshot so you can tell me what's going on
like if this payment actually went through or whatever,
I'm just kinda confused, is it possible you can't transfer money online over the weekend because of the holidays or something??

I'm not entirely sure if I've grasped the situation correctly, but here is how I see it:
If I'm transferring funds to an account held at Z, I can make the payment today—meaning with today's date—and the amount will be debited from my checking account immediately. Plus, I can simply email the confirmation receipt to whoever needs it...
However, if I am paying into an account that isn't with Z, the earliest available date for the transaction shows up as November 4th... though, again, I could still send over the confirmation via email...
☕

Edit: if you want, just shoot me a screenshot in a DM—it seems to me the payment went through fine, provided it said "transaction successfully completed"... 🤷

If his account isn't sufficiently funded by Monday, the transfer won't clear—leaving you to decide just how much risk you're willing to stomach. You could tell him to drop the cash off this Saturday and make a direct deposit at your local Chase branch (which guarantees the funds hit your account immediately), or simply wait until Monday afternoon for the Z transfer to settle 🤷

edit: He wasn't playing you. Under US banking regulations, a bank can't pull funds if they can't facilitate the transfer the same day—and since the Fed doesn't process these until Monday morning, he's stuck. Essentially, he set up the instruction to send you the money first thing Monday, but if his balance is empty when the system runs, nothing moves

He mentioned the transaction and order went through fine, so he said the actual transfer would happen on the first business day, which is Monday.
And now he's just telling me it might be stuck waiting until Monday, I guess.

Oh, please... if the transaction was processed (and that's what the record shows), the money will be debited from his account regardless—even if it pushes him into an unauthorized overdraft... the thing is, if a transfer hits a different bank after 3:00 PM, it usually won't be posted until the next business day. In this specific case—given the holiday weekend—that wouldn't be until Monday. As far as I can see, everything is proceeding normally and the order has been executed... 🤷

That's not right. If there isn't enough cash in the account by Monday, nothing will be withdrawn—and they certainly won't trigger an unauthorized overdraft for it. Overdrafts happen because of interest, service fees, or credit card payments, not because of a pending transfer. Even when you schedule a payment in advance, the system explicitly tells you that you need to have sufficient funds available on that date, otherwise, the transaction just fails.

The order went through without a hitch, but whether that money actually hits the other account is a whole different ballgame. 😉
Anasib makes a fair point—if you're looking to gamble with an open field, be my guest.

So you're saying you absolutely need a positive balance to pull this off? Like, they won't even let you dip into your authorized overdraft limit?

She’s talking about an unauthorized overdraft here. 😳

Urgent question here—I was told that a transfer was made from a Chase account to my Bank of America card this past Saturday, but the funds still haven't shown up in my balance today... does anyone know how many business days it usually takes for money to actually hit the account?

Good afternoon,

So, I just received my new debit card in the mail and went ahead and activated it about half an hour ago, feeling quite ready to get things moving. I attempted to jump online to make a transaction—specifically to fund my Google Ads account—but unfortunately, the whole thing keeps failing, insisting that my details are incorrect, even though I am looking right at them and they are absolutely spot on. This leaves me wondering, does one typically have to wait a certain amount of time after activation before the card is actually functional for online use, or is it supposed to be instantaneous? Is there perhaps a necessary waiting period of a few hours before the system recognizes it?

It usually takes a full day—honestly, you might even see a notification pop up on your Chase app regarding the delay. 🤔
You should be good to go by tomorrow.

Wait, really? Are we talking about a full 24 hours, or could it actually stretch out even longer than that?

Is this kind of delay just something you deal with at Chase, because I don’t recall things ever being quite that sluggish when I was dealing with Bank of America.

I've got a few questions about setting up some recurring payments for my monthly bills:

1. Is there a fee for setting up a standard standing order or an automated ACH transfer?
a) at a local branch
b) via online banking

2. Once these bills actually go through, does the bank charge any transaction fees ($0.33 if I'm sending it to another account here at Chase or $0.67 to an external bank)?

1. Honestly, the fee for setting up a recurring payment usually just depends on which specific banking package you're currently using with them.
2. As for the actual transfers, you shouldn't have to worry about any extra fees.

I’ve got a question about the e-token setup, specifically regarding Microsoft.

When we try to install the Microsoft app and enter the code, we keep hitting error 1000: Communication error, please check your internet settings... We already called Verizon, and they told us to mess around with our network settings, but nothing is working. Has anyone else dealt with these kinds of errors??

To whom it may concern—I have a situation involving an acquaintance who holds a position at JPMorgan Chase. This individual has been accessing my personal accounts without any authorization—not just mine, but also those belonging to my mother and the rest of my family. How does one go about filing a formal complaint to ensure this person faces actual consequences? It isn't a matter of some teller peeking at files; this person holds a more senior role, specifically catering to high-net-worth clients. I am currently based in Savannah, while this individual operates out of Washington, D.C. And let me be clear: this wasn't a singular lapse in judgment—this person has accessed our private information multiple times within a very short window of time.

How exactly did you find out she was snooping?
