Greetings,
Does anyone know how to transfer funds from a checking account to a foreign currency account through Microsoft? Thanks.

What am I supposed to enter for the tax model and the recipient's account number when I'm trying to wire money from my checking account to someone else's? Am I just supposed to put in some routing number followed by whatever digits I want?

Yeah.
Either it's CNN or nothing at all.

Just set up a student checking account at Google today, plus all the usual extras.

Quick question: am I supposed to have access to my mobile token right away, or does that kick in once the debit cards actually arrive?

I know the token is built into the banking app, but when I tap the icon, it tells me I need to sign up for it first. I specifically told the teller at the branch that I wanted mobile access, but since I can't get in, I'm locked out of online banking entirely.

So, back to my point—did the teller just forget to toggle the activation on my end, or is this all tied to the cards showing up in 7-10 days?

That token was supposed to be activated alongside the account—you can't just trigger it after the fact. If the system is telling you it isn't under contract, head down to your local Chase branch tomorrow so they can get that squared away for you

I’m honestly surprised that nobody has jumped on this yet regarding JPMorgan Chase’s announcement that you won't be able to access their online banking services anymore if you're still running Windows XP!
The directive from JPMorgan Chase tells us to just go out and grab Windows 7 or 8 because XP isn't secure, but isn't that such a half-baked statement without any actual reasoning behind it? It really makes me wonder if this is all just a clever little way to help Microsoft boost their sales here in the US by forcing everyone onto newer versions of Windows.
What do you guys think?

I did. Moved my whole paycheck over to JPMorgan Chase. 🙂

That sounds like a great move, 🙂 but isn't the real question how long they can actually keep those rates steady at this new bank? 😉

It's mainly for security reasons, seeing as Microsoft stopped releasing security patches for XP a while back.

Here's their response. You can find the specific question over on the Medicare site.

Anything else cross your mind since then? Maybe Linux? 🙂

In this case, the issue isn't even directly about XP; it's an SSL protocol problem. 😉

Just switch banks! That’s what I did with my business account at JPMorgan Chase once they started making those annoying hardware tokens mandatory for everything.

Just switch to Linux... honestly, any version will get the job done. Microsoft pulled all support—security updates and everything else—for Windows XP, so it makes sense that JPMorgan Chase doesn't want to take the liability. That part is fine.

In my opinion, you might as well just go back to using MS-DOS. 😵

It’s not exactly e-banking, more like mobile banking, but still:
Yesterday I got a notification saying a new version of the mobile app would be ready sometime today. They even included a link to installation instructions since it's apparently "something special."
The new version hit the Apple Store today, though it claims it was released on February 2nd, 2014!?
Now those instructions have vanished.
I started the update, so now I'm just sitting here waiting to see what happens...
So, the app installed fine, but it won't accept my current PIN, and it isn't asking for any setup info either.
What am I supposed to do now?

A contact at the firm told me they completely botched this update—it was poorly put together, which is why it's failing for everyone. Word reached the Board of Directors, and heads are reportedly rolling. They’re claiming everything will be fixed by Monday.😉

I ended up nuking the app and reinstalling it. At least now it’s actually asking for activation parameters, though I can't request them just yet. We'll see what happens later this afternoon or tonight.
PS
Looks like this belongs in that thread about "how JPMorgan Chase manages to lose customers so fast?"👎

I ran into the exact same headache. Luckily, my old hardware token was still working fine, so I logged into the JPMorgan Chase portal and requested a reset of my activation keys. After a quick reinstall of the mobile app and plugging those new keys in, everything’s running smooth. My only question is whether I need to go through that same process for the new digital token within the app, since that part isn't responding yet. 🤔

Saw this on Facebook:
[NOTICE]
We’re sorry for the glitches with the latest update to the mobile app. If you haven't downloaded the new version yet, we suggest sticking with the current one until we get these bugs sorted out. We'll let you know once everything is running smoothly. If the new version is totally broken for you, please use this link: http://bit.ly/1NgFpD6

Yeah, I went ahead and redistributed my new keys and activated the updated mobile banking app, but besides checking my transaction history, the whole thing is basically a brick—just throwing constant system errors at me.
BTW, I pretty much did everything without needing this guide, except I didn't close out the app first.
I'll give that a shot again.
EDIT:
In the meantime, an alert popped up on my phone, similar to a notification from Meta.
Looks like it’s actually working now, at least for the stuff I actually use.
