Jeffrey Hughes91 said:Exactly this 👍. It’s a brutally objective look at what life is actually like in Cuba. I guess I suspected this might happen—behind all our romanticized notions of that socialist corner of the world, there's just basic human nature, which is pretty much the same everywhere. If anyone wants that lifestyle, they should just move to their "paradise." Sure, America isn't Norway by any standard, but I wouldn't want to live in Cuba either. This system works because it gives you the freedom to shape your own life. Want to focus on your career? You can. Study, work hard, and suddenly the whole EU market is open to your ambitions. Want to prioritize family? You can, and the state even helps out with various incentives for having kids. Want to travel and see the world? Go ahead. Freedom implies responsibility, and I suppose some people just prefer being spoon-fed through life. That's different. ☕ Anyone still preaching about how "great" Cuba is should probably ditch their computer, phone, and all those other Western evils and just move there. ☕

So, maybe just use your brain and actually earn something on the market. I assume you have some actual skills, besides just leaking passwords?

I mean, yeah, but wouldn't she just... if you didn't have to stress about competition, landing contracts, hiring people, salaries, taxes, or all those other headaches... maybe someone else would handle the boring stuff😁

I wish I could go back to being a kid too, where someone else wipes my ass and feeds me, but life doesn't really work that way. Still, I suppose there's some logic there... for a seven-year-old, anyway.☕.

Now they'll probably start spouting some tired slogan about Harmon and the Church.🤣.

if you're hand-picked for the job,
then sign me up too.

I know I'm probably a little smarter than average,
but honestly, I'd jump at the chance to fit right into a role like that.😁

And honestly, same... everyone wants that if things were different right now.😁
But I've been slammed with work lately, so I'm stuck here and can't really get away.☕

The answer is actually pretty simple:
we just need to drink away this whole Franjo Harmon style capitalism! 🙂

The fix for that isn't really what you're always preaching about, haiku.

By the way, sex work with foreigners is totally commonplace there. And we aren't talking about professional prostitutes—we're talking about married women who have actual jobs, like teachers, nurses, doctors, civil servants...
Even their husbands don't seem to care much about it.
So a woman hooks up with some foreigner and uses the cash to buy groceries for the week. It’s not like she’s throwing money away on nonsense; let's face it, you can't survive on a standard salary alone.

What a wonderful country.

It’s like Franjo Harmon and the church are basically just coddling her—basically wiping her butt and holding her hand for life while everyone else picks up the tab.
Honestly, she should probably give them some credit too, just like how people used to praise Josip Broz Marshall and the whole socialist vibe back in the day. 😁

Look, you were totally misinformed from the jump,
so honestly, your take doesn't carry any weight here.
When it comes down to the actual conclusions...😁

It’s hardly surprising. Opportunism is just... human, I suppose. If Franjo Harmon had handed me a factory, I’d be singing his praises right along with her. It’s the same deal if I’d been born under Josip Broz Marshall and joined the Party. Everyone wants a free lunch. Who wouldn't?

Look, I'm telling you right now, that kind of stuff just didn't exist back under socialism.
So, I was checking out the latest absolute circus happening over at the local precinct today, and honestly, it’s just straight-up banditry at this point. It feels like every single thing they touch turns into some kind of shady, low-life hustle.
I am just way too much.

Sure, everyone else had machinery while we were stuck doing everything by hand😍. It’s always been about the little guy getting screwed; selling smoke has always been a business. The difference is, back then, the working class actually saw some benefit from it, whereas now it’s all for the elite. I guess people romanticize that era because we have media outlets reporting on every crime and scandal now, whereas before, you just didn't hear about the drugs or the violence. Honestly, America might have actually lasted if the USSR hadn't collapsed. Because of all that political maneuvering, we basically had a guaranteed market in Middle Eastern countries, social rights were actually decent, and credit was flowing. When it finally came time to actually handle reforms and do the heavy lifting, the whole thing fell apart because the foundation was built on sand. I don't think America collapsed because of some "Western conspiracy"—it rotted from the inside, just like every other empire.

That’s pretty much the same excuse the low-level Nazi officers used—the ones actually pulling the triggers and sending people into the gas chambers.
