Alexander Lewis said:Don't read too much into this. People who bother filling out online polls clearly don't represent the actual voting population. You have far too many retirees and people who aren't even active online trying to use a digital survey to predict meaningful election results.

The value of using a forum poll to estimate election outcomes is roughly on par with polling Esquimalt locals or a group of toddlers in the USA.☕

Exactly. Like, I didn't bother with any of those random internet surveys about whether people liked the European Union or not. But I showed up at my local polling station yesterday and checked the box FOR it.

I cast my vote FOR the European Union, all in the name of a better life. My reasoning? Our buddies over in Europe aren't just going to sit back and watch us starve if things get rough; they'll actually step up and lend a hand 😉😉

Nah, I didn't head out, just wasn't feeling it.

Besides, this poll pretty much proves the same old story: even when the local skeptics show up in force, the referendum still doesn't pass. It’s like the same loop over and over again—it just goes to show that what we're all venting about here on the forums is miles away from what the general public actually thinks.

I voted against it, just as I intended.

Look, you can't really trust forum crowds or the general internet population to give you the real picture.
People hanging out in forums or active online tend to have much better access to actual information.
The average American voter? Most of them just swallow whatever the mainstream media spits out—you know, the stuff controlled by the lizard people or the Masons.
So, when they finally hit the polls, they ended up voting for the European Union.
Now, if you look at the truly informed folks—the ones actually digging through forums and deep web sites—they probably made up maybe 20 percent of those who showed up for the referendum.
And even among those online users, let's say 40% of them weren't actually checking independent outlets like Breitbart or similar sites; instead, they just stuck to the establishment media, like CNN or Fox News.

Bottom line: forum polls aren't exactly a reliable metric. 🍵

I haven't really shared much about this on the forums, aside from posting that one alert about Together (United Europe) once before.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4btQBoD0xM

When President Josipović called for everyone to show up for the referendum, I didn't sit there second-guessing things. I just grabbed my ID, headed out, and voted YES, exactly like he suggested we should.😉

My logic was pretty simple: if I don't have all the answers, someone else probably does, so I just followed the lead of the President of the Republic and checked that box.😛

Look, I’m all FOR it, even if I didn't cast a vote,

I just really hope we stop seeing this level of blatant corruption—you know, painting tunnels for three times the actual cost, building public restrooms at $12,000 per square foot, hiring entire families through nepotism, skipping public bidding processes to hand out jobs under the table, unpaid wages, scavenging through trash, and letting people drive 155 miles miles per hour while getting slapped with nothing more than a slap on the wrist 🙂

Beyond that, there was that one day when everyone else seemed to be rushing into the European Union. Do you honestly think we're some version of Switzerland where we can just afford to sit this one out? We aren't.

But I am truly hoping that joining the European Union might actually force us to become a civilized society and tackle these issues, among so many others. 🙂

I cast my vote against.

It will likely be the last time I bother with such things.

I cast my vote against, even though I knew deep down the tally wouldn't actually matter. Our politicians simply did exactly what the European Union expected of them. They were just there to rubber-stamp Mislav Bago's polling numbers. Honestly, the victory speech was likely drafted before the polls even closed.
No one can convince me that 66% of the population genuinely voted for something that offers zero benefit to the average citizen—and frankly, I highly doubt any of that 66% has the slightest clue what was actually negotiated behind closed doors with the European Union.

For God's sake, Vladić, do you even live here or pay taxes in America? Just asking, by the way. If you don't have skin in the game, why are you even bothering to vote yes or no?

So your whole point is that we "opponents" know exactly why we're against it, while we "supporters" are just too stupid to understand our own reasoning? Is that really the gist of your message?

Just because I listed a different city and state doesn't mean I'm not living in America☕. Starting next year, we'll be paying our taxes directly to the European Union while the citizens are worked like galley slaves.
I wasn't implying anyone was stupid; rather, it seems you lot don't actually know what you voted for yourselves.😉 You're all just blindly charging after politicians like lost sheep in a thick fog.☕

So, you're telling me you aren't in favor of stricter laws and actual sanctions? You’re actually okay with this whole thing falling apart? Beautiful. Honestly, Stipić—is that the guy who does the tunnel painting?—and his little crew are probably the only ones who can afford to be against this. It makes sense if you're looking at it from their perspective; they’re the ones profiting from the status quo. But let's be real: most of us aren't seeing those benefits. The majority of us are just left dealing with the mess. 👍

I’m out here grinding like a damn slave right now, too. Honestly, I’m just sitting here wondering how much this paycheck is actually going to be worth—if it even shows up at all. How many more nights am I supposed to pull and how many more Sundays am I going to waste working for peanuts? It feels like I'm busting my back just to make ends meet. 🙂

EDIT: Aha, I see you decided to scrub your post, but I’m going to give you my answer anyway:

I already laid out what the average working man stands to gain above—that was just one part of the whole picture.

We’re going to settle up with the relatives and the godparents once and for all. We’ll make sure that final paycheck and those last few cents are paid out—we aren't going to play games by withholding them entirely. And let's be clear: we aren't going to act like idiots by slapping on a $250 hourly fine for... $33

Look, let’s stop digging through the trash. We aren't going to sit here and pretend that "building" a bathroom for $12,000 a square foot is anything other than a blatant scam. It’s an absolute robbery. I mean, come on—if that thing were actually made of solid gold, it wouldn't even be that expensive. This isn't just bad math; it's daylight robbery. 👍

Man, if only it were that simple. But I'm afraid your dreams might crash pretty fast...

Once foreign interests take over everything, your relationship becomes Bank-vs-You. Just think about what kind of dynamic that creates... 😉

I was against it, then I went neutral, and now this is the last time I'm ever voting in this circus called the United States...

Hah! Well, we were the ones counting the votes, weren't we? It was all perfectly legitimate—we handed them over to the commission before 8:00. You might want to dial back the conspiracy theories just a hair. Besides, the actual result was over 75% IN FAVOR.

A situation like this simply cannot be sustained anymore. I am sick to death of hearing about "the well-connected few."
I hope things change. I think they might, though maybe I'm just being naive—we'll see. But someone has to step up and impose order. We clearly can't do it ourselves; individuals have only ever imposed their own rules for their own benefit, while the rest of us can just go to hell.👍

But isn't that exact same "inner circle" actually the one running the show right now?!

Please. They aren't in power. They have much smarter things to do than bother with politics—especially when they can make way more money elsewhere...

Maybe we finally managed to step out from the shadows. But if we haven't, I’m terrified because it feels like there's nowhere left to go. We don't even know how to get in, and honestly, I swear to Bog, we wouldn't even know how to get back out.👍
