Taylor Morales31 said:So, you're telling me you aren't in favor of stricter laws and actual sanctions? You’re actually okay with this whole thing falling apart? Beautiful. Honestly, Stipić—is that the guy who does the tunnel painting?—and his little crew are probably the only ones who can afford to be against this. It makes sense if you're looking at it from their perspective; they’re the ones profiting from the status quo. But let's be real: most of us aren't seeing those benefits. The majority of us are just left dealing with the mess. 👍

I’m out here grinding like a damn slave right now, too. Honestly, I’m just sitting here wondering how much this paycheck is actually going to be worth—if it even shows up at all. How many more nights am I supposed to pull and how many more Sundays am I going to waste working for peanuts? It feels like I'm busting my back just to make ends meet. 🙂

EDIT: Aha, I see you decided to scrub your post, but I’m going to give you my answer anyway:

I already laid out what the average working man stands to gain above—that was just one part of the whole picture.

We’re going to settle up with the relatives and the godparents once and for all. We’ll make sure that final paycheck and those last few cents are paid out—we aren't going to play games by withholding them entirely. And let's be clear: we aren't going to act like idiots by slapping on a $250 hourly fine for... $33

Look, let’s stop digging through the trash. We aren't going to sit here and pretend that "building" a bathroom for $12,000 a square foot is anything other than a blatant scam. It’s an absolute robbery. I mean, come on—if that thing were actually made of solid gold, it wouldn't even be that expensive. This isn't just bad math; it's daylight robbery. 👍

Ajde, why don't you explain exactly how the European Banking Union is going to fix that specific issue? 😁 😁 And why on earth would they care about fixing it in the first place?

With this disastrous decision, we’ve effectively surrendered our voting rights. We've downgraded our Congressional elections to the level of picking a local neighborhood council. We’ve stepped into an institution run purely by the interests of big capital, banks, and massive corporations—the same entities that have already gutted several countries within the European Union, including our own economy. That "golden toilet" you mentioned is a joke compared to the fire sale of our banks, telecom companies, and other prime assets being handed over to the masters of the European Union at a fraction of their actual value, likely with plenty of grease applied under the table. And then, our "brilliant" leaders, out of pure gratitude, vote to pay a yearly tribute of 600 million euros. They're basically signing up to fund those very same banks by paying off debts that were created using the exact same shady tactics. On top of that, those same leaders gave away the power to regulate our laws, tax policy, and economic "growth" on our own soil—a move that has already proven painful for both ourselves and others. This is just the tip of the iceberg; we've walked straight into a black hole.

After dealing with this brainwashing, the censorship, and the very likely possibility that everything is rigged, I'm done. I'm officially stepping away from participating in any elections here.

I honestly don't understand how some people expect everything to magically become orderly and law-abiding just because we join the European Union.
You don't even need to look at Romania or Bulgaria to see the issues; just take a glance at Greece or Italy, which have been members for much longer, along with several other countries.
If we don't secure stability through our own hard work, our behavior, and a genuine respect for the rule of law, nobody is going to hand it to us on a silver platter. When it comes to the European Union, the only thing we can really expect to receive if we fail is sanctions.
And that is exactly what will happen unless the government and our state institutions undergo real reform.

I showed up for the referendum—maybe not with total conviction, but I voted NO, and God help us all!

😂

And you're actually okay with the way things are right now?

That all sounds wonderful, but you conveniently forgot to mention that we'll be digging through the trash next.

Listen, comparing Congress to a neighborhood council election? That's a thousand times better than when we joined the alliance with the Mađar.

Do you honestly think he's done anything remotely intelligent in the last twenty years that wasn't basically a local precinct election? If it isn't a fight for a tiny district, it's just him securing his own bloated pension and orchestrating a total heist of the state. That is your Congress if it isn't just a local scrap.

Anyway, I'm heading to the grocery store before they close up shop. 👍

To make America better—so basically, AGAINST the European Union—I headed out to the referendum in those early morning hours and marked my vote AGAINST.

And honestly? Every single time, I’m voting FOR America and AGAINST any kind of massive, overreaching entity they try to build.

I'm not gonna stop showing up just because I might end up being the last one left standing there defending what I believe in.

I am not talking nonsense; I gave you an answer,

Congress? It's just a bunch of crooks and people looking out for their own, handing out favors and making sure nobody ever gets punished for it.

Besides, you already lost, so why are you getting so worked up? There's no shame in losing—just remember what Snježana used to say about letting go of old stories. 👍

I hear you. I really do. I find myself thinking along those exact lines myself; I love my country, but how is it that every time I head to the polls, the option I actually support fails to win?🤷
It happens every single time.🙂

Either I am truly alone in this world, or this entire situation isn't what I believe it to be and what I hold dear...
Or perhaps I'm living on Mars🤷.

I suspect that once the integration is complete, there won't even be an option left for me to vote for.
Everything has become so diluted, somehow....☕

Against - went out and voted against it (by the way, three members of my family are also against it and didn't even bother showing up to vote).
On top of that, they’re killing us with these stats, claiming 66.27% of citizens in America are FOR it. They conveniently forget to mention there were only 1,299,008 "yes" votes compared to 4,504,765 total votes cast—which means it's actually only about 28.8% of the actual population of America . That 66.27% figure? That's just from the people who showed up. They lie constantly.
I haven't been able to snap out of it since yesterday. America isn't even a real country anymore; it's just some territory called America because it doesn't even function like a state. At what I thought were the prime years of my life—after everything I put in—someone basically pissed all over me, and now I can't even find the point in fighting for independence. The only thing that comforts me is this: if backstabbing economic deals and hegemony were what tore the old federation apart, then this union is doomed for the exact same reasons (it's neither a real economy nor does it have a shred of democracy).
By the way, don't come at me in the comments, because I am absolutely livid.
Cheers, everyone.

Oh, please. Why on earth didn't your three little buddies show up to protest?

And what, does nobody else in the USA have territories? Is everything just "territory" now?
But they’re still territories that actually keep their own names, right? So we won't be the only ones left standing like idiots,

Back in the South, if you even dared to bring that up, people were barely scavenging through trash before heading to the communal kitchen—and if you lied about the government, you got absolutely wrecked.
But go ahead, keep talking. You'll get exactly what's coming to you. 👍

I voted YES. And I will do it a million times over until every last trace of Harmon's influence is wiped out. YES because the people have been pushed to the brink. YES because this isn't a functioning state; it's chaos. There is no justice, no honesty, no honor, and no morality here. Even the clergy are poisoned by hatred, workers aren't getting paid, the Prime Minister was looting the country, and now the largest party in the nation is under investigation for the exact same thing! YES because I believe in a global worker's revolution, and Americans must play their part in it! We were the historical leaders of communist and anti-fascist ideals in the North America, and we will lead again!

The massive voter turnout failure shows a population that is apathetic, disinterested, and disillusioned. Disillusioned by what? Their own country. The grand expectations of the nineties completely crashed, and they clearly aren't coming. Especially not now in the USA, and certainly not through "patriotism," but perhaps only through grueling labor and sacrifice. The first wave of disappointment hit with Harmon's death. He made promises, died, and left nothing behind but empty symbolism at an enormous cost. The reaction was desperation. A coalition was chosen. The Republican revival centered around the San Francisco Waterfront ended in catastrophe, leading to Sanders's imprisonment and electoral defeat. It is now obvious the people have been played. They hold the flag, the crest, and the anthem, while their future is a trash bin. The nineties dream of freedom and prosperity has shattered. The corrupt and the privileged are the only ones winning. All hope seems lost—so what is there even to vote for?

Shut up, you skeptics. You likely come from the ranks of the privileged or those who refuse to face the bitter reality: nationalist rhetoric is spent fuel and is unwelcome in the USA. Then there are the leftist revolutionaries, who sense that in the USA as it stands today, they are losing ground.

I have to hand it to you—you could have written this yourself. For all intents and purposes, you’ve basically got my signature on this piece.

The late defense attorneys would be spinning in their graves if they knew where all that money actually went and how it was squandered. It’s an absolute disgrace. We had the potential to be like Switzerland, but we were too foolish to see it. We have everything—from the coast to the Midwest—nature gave us a literal paradise to live like lords, but our leaders aren't nearly as efficient at cleaning out the crooks. Or maybe they just don't care. In this country, everyone claims to be a true patriot while lining their own pockets.

Historically speaking, we never had this many Americans who were both starving and drowning in debt at the same time. To actually live a decent life off your own hard work, you’d have to be pulling three shifts a day just to break even, let alone deal with this level of unemployment

Besides, if everyone else is checking all the boxes to get by, we might as well follow suit 👍

So, according to this poll, 52% actually showed up to vote "no." How on earth is there such a massive gap between what everyone was saying here on the forums and the official numbers? Honestly, I see only two ways this happened. Either some group of people just faked the ballots, or Pusićka actually managed to scare the seniors into thinking their pensions would vanish if the referendum failed. Most of those retirees aren't hanging out on forums or scrolling through the internet anyway—they aren't exactly tech-savvy.

Whatever happens, happens, right?

Jason Lee15 said:I cast my vote against, even though I knew deep down the tally wouldn't actually matter. Our politicians simply did exactly what the European Union expected of them. They were just there to rubber-stamp Mislav Bago's polling numbers. Honestly, the victory speech was likely drafted before the polls even closed.
No one can convince me that 66% of the population genuinely voted for something that offers zero benefit to the average citizen—and frankly, I highly doubt any of that 66% has the slightest clue what was actually negotiated behind closed doors with the European Union.

Well, you voted last month too, and it wasn't for the little guy—it was for them.

Jason Lee15 said:Just because I listed a different city and state doesn't mean I'm not living in America☕. Starting next year, we'll be paying our taxes directly to the European Union while the citizens are worked like galley slaves.
I wasn't implying anyone was stupid; rather, it seems you lot don't actually know what you voted for yourselves.😉 You're all just blindly charging after politicians like lost sheep in a thick fog.☕

Look, I know how this goes from when they were negotiating over in Canada. One of their experts mentioned we'd put in 600 million and get back 400 million. The manager tells him we're getting less than we give. The expert points out the truth: if we leave that 600 million sitting in Canada, most of it will just vanish into thin air like smoke, whereas if the USA controls that 400 million, at least something might actually get built. That logic applies to California too.

Taylor Morales31 said:So, you're telling me you aren't in favor of stricter laws and actual sanctions? You’re actually okay with this whole thing falling apart? Beautiful. There are no stricter laws or sanctions. Laws are written, sure, but no matter how strict they look on paper, there's nobody actually enforcing them properly. Whether we're independent or part of the USA, our regulators show up just to "serve" rather than actually showing up to do the work.

By the way, I really hope this whole farce regarding the so-called voter registration list finally comes to an end. Look, I realize turnout wasn't great across the board, but there is simply no way to get a meaningful or accurate picture when you're working with data from the current, official voter registration list🙂

Anyway, turnout was lower everywhere compared to the parliamentary elections just six weeks ago, so I guess people just don't think this matters as much.

Even if the voter registration list isn't perfect, plenty of people don't vote. Some are working off the books, others are driving trucks, some are traveling... it’s just complicated for them to make it to a consulate or whatever.

Just look at the turnout in Canada: it was around 3%. That alone drags the total numbers down significantly, since that represents nearly 10% of the electorate.

There’s a more detailed breakdown in the link in my signature...

(edit) oh yeah, I voted YES.

Besides, why wasn't there such a massive uproar when we joined the United Nations? There are rules there too, membership fees and all that. And the United Nations established the Supreme Court (not the European Union!)
