Look, you can say whatever you want—really, go for it—but if you aren't bringing actual arguments to the table... posts that just scream "throw your DVD player out the window" are nothing more than mindless trolling, and they’re going to keep getting nuked from orbit.

..."throwing Windows through a window" is actually a pretty solid, vivid metaphor—it clearly illustrates my humble little opinion on the subject...

...deleting posts under the guise of "mindless trolling" ( .. vs. actual trolling, (+ two "l's")...

I really need some help here, because my laptop is stuck in this endless loop where it restarts itself every two hours on the dot... whenever it happens, I get hit with a BSOD that says "end of nt evaluation period," which is driving me crazy. I was trying to Google a fix, but everything just points me toward doing a totally clean install of Windows 7, and honestly, I’m really hoping there's a way to bypass this without having to wipe everything and start from scratch... if anyone knows a little program or a quick trick to fix this without a full reinstall, I'd seriously appreciate it... thanks.

Why are you still running a beta version? Just join us in the present and install the full release 😁

Man, I don't even have a 7600 rtm myself...

It seems to me that you're running some sort of expired beta or RC version of Windows, which would explain why your PC keeps rebooting every two hours. You really need to get your hands on a final release and perform a clean reinstall.

Alright, here’s the issue I'm running into, just so you can see what I mean visually...

Even the desktop had some profanity on it because someone messed up the branding 😁

That’s just a beta, regardless of what the 7600 tag says. The RTM version is officially labeled Windows 7 RTM build 7600.16385.090713-1255. Besides, your installation date is July 20, 2009, but the RTM was built on July 22, 2009, and didn't hit shelves until October 22, 2009. So, based on when you installed it, there's no way it's the final version.

Yeah, looks like I was the one who totally missed the mark on the plot twist here...😢 Reinstalling everything from scratch isn't going to kill me, so I'll just get on with it. Thanks for the help, everyone...

It’s probably just restarting because you aren't using a legitimate license—that’s usually how it goes.

I usually set something to download in the evening and leave it running overnight, but then the computer just shuts itself down into sleep mode... does anyone know why that happens? 🤷

Just hit up your Power Options and tell it to never go to sleep.

Look, "How can I stop my PC from going into sleep or hibernation mode on its own?"

So, I’m running into a massive headache with my Windows 7 setup.
The rig is basically brand new—only about two months old—and everything was smooth sailing until about three weeks ago. Now, File Explorer just refuses to open my Memory stick. It actually detects that something's plugged in, but when I pull up This PC, it’s nowhere to be found. The weird part? I can still access the files on the stick if I use Total Commander, but again, it won't show up as a drive in This PC.
To make matters worse, for the last five days, I've been getting this annoying little pop-up notification saying "USB device not recognized" or some variation of that nonsense.
I already tried nuking the drivers, but no luck there.
I even tried uninstalling the USB hubs in both Safe Mode and regular mode, but as soon as I reboot, the exact same thing happens.

Just to give you some context, I have a Logitech webcam plugged into one of the ports and it works perfectly fine. Plus, the Memory stick itself is totally healthy; I tested it on other computers and it works without a hitch.

I’ve got Avast and Malwarebytes running, so I’m pretty sure I haven't picked up any digital nasties or anything.

Look, just try pulling up Disk Management—you can find it under Administrative Tools inside Computer Management—and if you see that Kingston drive showing up in the list, just try swapping out the drive letter from G to something else, like X.

I think I'll give that a shot.
But wait, what's the deal with this goofy little cloud icon? Just a heads-up, it pops up whenever there isn't a single new device plugged in or any Kingston Memory connected.

This little cloud:

It just shows up out of nowhere 🤷

So, I just went ahead and renamed the Memory stick to X:, and it's still not showing up in Explorer. But get this—if I manually type X: into the address bar, it actually opens.

I mean, why does this damn Explorer struggle with even the most basic tasks? It’s ridiculous.

I honestly feel a little embarrassed having to break out Total Commander, but this is my kids' computer, and they aren't exactly tech-savvy enough to deal with software acting up like this.
