The processor is 64-bit, but I agree—your friend will be perfectly fine with the 32-bit version; the Professional edition should be plenty too (differences)

Which Asus motherboard are you talking about? 🤔

I've got an asus M4N75TD motherboard here--

Man, please tell me how I can fix this.

Taylor Morales31 said:Since 32-bit can't handle more than 4GB of RAM anyway, there's really no need for 64-bit. In my opinion, 32-bit will work just fine for them.

Thanks! 👍I'll go with the 32-bit (Professional) then.

The page mentions both TurboV (for overclocking) and Asus ep (for power management). I'm sniffing out some kind of "glitch" in the BIOS; try hunting down those specific settings and resetting them back to default values. 🤔

This might sound like a bit of a silly question, but I just can't seem to find the right setting. Regarding these popular sites, is there actually a way to manually assign specific pages within this Opera-like speed dial, or am I stuck with whatever they provide? If there's a way to customize them just like you would in Opera, I'll stick around, but if not, I am definitely making the switch to Internet Explorer...

Regarding those "most popular sites"—can I actually customize the pages in that Opera-like speed dial to whatever I want? Where do I go to do that? If it isn't as flexible as it was in Opera, I am definitely switching back to IE.

There is no way in hell I could ever get used to life without Opera 😳 (truth be told, I still miss it sometimes)
No, you just can't customize it nearly as much as you could in Opera.

Does IE even have mouse gestures?

Roughly speaking (since I don't have access to Vista / 7 at my office to test IE9), it looks like that "Opera-like speed dial" isn't actually doing its job: 😢
How to use the New Tab page in Internet Explorer 9

You could Pin a website to your taskbar, but that’s not quite what we're looking for. 😢

From what I've gathered, it's probably best to leave Suggested Sites turned off entirely (check the final 😠Note
).

@ Taylor Campbell4 Check out these 7 hard-to-find IE9 add-ons😉 (look at slide 5 of 9, under the Article section)

Yeah, me too. Honestly, I'm not switching now either. I can't live without speed dial.

Just based on my "rough guess" (since I don't have Vista / 7 at work, so I don't have IE9 handy), it seems to me that this "Opera-like speed dial" doesn't actually do what it's supposed to do: 😢

From what I've read, it probably isn't even a good idea to enable Suggested Sites (check the last 😠Note
)...

On top of that, they can see which websites I'm visiting. Just wonderful... 😁

Internet Explorer 9
I head over to CNN.com and try to load a video, but I just get hit with this error:
a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
close program 😠
It keeps popping up constantly, even though I make sure Adobe Flash Player is updated regularly. 🤷

It’s an interesting one. I might actually end up using it as a secondary browser alongside Google Chrome. The way they merged the address bar and the tab bar is a clever touch—there are some quirks here and there, but they’ve definitely simplified things in certain areas.

However, I can't just jump ship to Opera; I rely heavily on their mail client and other features. Even with all its flaws, it's my go-to.

With Opera, I have a ton of features built right in by default. It saves me the headache of hunting through a different browser and installing endless add-ons when everything I need is already sitting right there.
Not to mention the customization—I'm a bit of a total geek about this stuff, so I've completely overhauled my address bar. You can move buttons to any bar or toolbar you want; the flexibility is great.
That said, I have to admit Internet Explorer 9 has improved quite a bit. For beginners, it’s a solid choice now. It feels pretty snappy, too.
I think I'll download some mouse gestures for it.

PS: But again, I have to reiterate—there are so many things I've always relied on in Opera that are missing here (like Paste and Go, for instance).

Quick question for all you Opera users out there: is there an Adblock/Flash block extension, or something similar available? 🤔
I've already tracked down versions for Safari, Firefox, and Chrome, and honestly, it’s become my go-to browser "essential." I can barely function without it now.

Honestly, Opera is the only way to go. It’s easily number one. 👍

I finally tracked it down for Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. Honestly, it’s become that one essential little thing for my browser—kind of like the secret sauce. I don't even know if I could get used to browsing without it at this point.

Maybe there's something going on, I guess? Who knows. Honestly, I just install Flash Player on Opera and call it a day. That’s about it. I don't really need anything else. Why bother? 😁

I’ve already tracked down solutions for Safari, Firefox, and Chrome, and honestly, those tools have become such a vital part of my browsing experience that I can hardly function without them.

It exists as an extension—I’m not entirely sure where to find it, but word is it works just as effectively as the version designed for Firefox.

Opera actually comes with built-in capabilities to block content, and it performs reasonably well enough.

However, if you want my honest opinion, it is much more efficient to simply head into your Windows\System32\drivers\etc folder and edit the hosts file. You can drop in a comprehensive list of sites to block; you can find lists online that cover virtually every major US-based advertising network and spyware source, and then you can manually add any specific local sites you encounter (though I won't list them here to avoid getting banned 🙂).

The beauty of this method is that if you use multiple browsers, it blocks access across all of them simultaneously. It doesn't just restrict the browser; it cuts off access for every single application running on your computer.

Seriously, why on earth would you need that?..

So I can hide or just get rid of specific parts of a webpage that annoy me—things like banners, ads, and whatnot. 😁
If it works in Safari, Firefox, or Chrome, why wouldn't it work in Opera? 🤷

What do you guys think? Is this the real deal or just some bait:

http://www.ioffer.com/i/windows-7-pr...egit-145689661

The ratings look okay and they pay via PayPal, so everything seems legit on the surface... anyone actually tried this before?
😕
