Yeah, honestly, a hall for 180 guests sounds perfect for this setup X. Thatโ€™s exactly how I pictured it. Having about nine people per table feels just right ๐Ÿ™‚
I'm really hoping things turn out that way for us in the end ๐Ÿ™‚
And trust me, it won't look half-empty if you have 160 people. The tables are spaced pretty close together, so you'd actually have eight people per table since there are 20 of them.
That's a great plan ๐Ÿ™‚

Iโ€™m bringing a little bit of that Midwest charm to the mix... Iโ€™ve realized that getting professional thank-you cards printed is getting surprisingly pricey (since Iโ€™m insisting on that ultra-minimalist lookโ€”just crisp black ink on pure white paper, and theyโ€™re charging me $1.50/piece for it), so I think Iโ€™ll just print them myself at home after I pick up some high-quality cardstock. However, I do have one nagging question floating around my headโ€”does anyone happen to know where I might be able to rent some round tables out here in the Midwest? I checked with the folks over in Indianapolis, and they told me they don't have any available... ๐Ÿคท
On a side note, the banquet hall at the Park Hotel in Indianapolis is, frankly, an absolute eyesore. One wall is a garish red, another is this dark wood brown, and then there's this peach-colored one that really completes the disaster. But, the manager did promise me heโ€™d repaint everything white, so perhaps thereโ€™s a glimmer of hope for the aesthetic! ๐Ÿ˜‚

velvetwalker742, regarding those round tables, try contacting Gastronomy in a Small town, USA

So, itโ€™s Womenโ€™s Night or whatever, and my mom mentioned she heard Major League is an incredible band, though apparently they charge way more than everyone else. Now I'm curiousโ€”does anyone actually know what their booking fee looks like? ๐Ÿ™‚

Matthew Brown76, did you call about the salad?
I have zero clue about Major League; I couldn't even name them if I tried. You're better off contacting them directly. I don't recall anyone mentioning them on this forum...

I'm just waiting for my better half to get back from San Francisco so we can head out together. Should be in a few daysโ€”fingers crossed everything doesn't sell out before then ๐Ÿ™‚
I reached out to them on Facebook (Major League) to grab a cell number, so I'll give them a ring tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚
swiftsailor63, sorry for bombarding you with all these questions ๐Ÿคฃ
You mentioned you were there in September 2013, right? How's your progress coming along? Is everything pretty much sorted on your end yet? ๐ŸŽ‰

September 21, 2013. So, ๐Ÿ™‚ everything that needed getting sorted is officially done ๐Ÿ™‚
The venue, the band, and the photographer are all locked in. Iโ€™ve also decided to sew my own wedding dress. I know exactly what I want for the rest, just haven't figured out where to shop yet X
There's still plenty of time ๐Ÿ™‚

Please tell me which photographer you ended up hiring... I honestly can't deal with that kind of stress. I've already sorted out the venue and the band, but finding the right photographer is proving to be an absolute nightmare... ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿ™‚

Check out Inch Photography and Click Photography from Savannah. They both have Facebook pages where you can browse their work. Regarding Click, Iโ€™ve actually done some shoots there myself and caught the guy putting together a wedding albumโ€”the shots were honestly stunning. They opened back in 2010, so their gear is still pretty modern, which matters, and since they aren't some legacy studio with decades of overhead, I don't think they're overpriced. As for Inch, I've heard good things, but I haven't personally worked with them yet.

If you need a photographer, I suggest Artis (Maya Perry and Jane Russell) based out of Indianapolis. Their work is flawless; theyโ€™re handling my shoot during my sixth month.

Iโ€™ve heard about two photographers from OSK who handle weddings, but word on the street is theyโ€™re way too pricey.๐Ÿคท

Must be nice. Iโ€™m stuck in a total stalemate here. ๐Ÿ™‚
In my family, everyone seems to have their own little manifesto regarding MY wedding. ๐Ÿคฃ

. Granted, my dear also gets a vote ๐Ÿ™‚

So, I finally pulled the trigger and booked my photo and video sessions with that YouTube studio over in Indianapolis... theyโ€™re a young crew, really easy to talk to, and incredibly accommodating when it comes to actually listening to what you want. Honestly, after vetting at least 15 or 20 different studiosโ€”if not way moreโ€”they were a breath of fresh air. Unlike almost everyone else I spoke to, they don't force these rigid, overpriced packages down your throat; instead, everything is totally customizable, from the total shot count to the actual length of the shoot, and the price is adjusted accordingly based on our specific needs. But what I truly appreciate most is their lack of ego. When you're in the middle of planning a wedding, it feels like every single vendor you encounter thinks they're some kind of untouchable genius who knows better than you do! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi ladies!
So... I have a few questions to get things started...
1. For those of you in the Indianapolis area or nearby, where did you pick up your wedding rings? We haven't actually started looking yet, so any tips or recommendations would be amazing ๐Ÿ˜‰
2. Does anyone have a recommendation for live music (like a band or musicians)?
3. Has anyone used Chic Salon in Indianapolis for hair and makeup? Were you happy with the results? Also, do they offer trials for hair and makeup? I'm wondering how long everything lasted through the night. ๐Ÿ˜•
4. Does anyone know a florist that carries veeery large candelabras???
5. And damn, where can I find comfortable shoes that will let me dance all night long?๐Ÿคท

Hey OP ๐Ÿคฃ

I'm currently hunting for a band for a big Midwestern wedding, and since my first choice for a sax player is already booked for my dates, I'm back to square one... everyone keeps mentioning Twist Off, but I can't find a single trace of them onlineโ€”no website, nothing on YouTube, not even a Facebook page... does anyone have a link where I can actually hear them play???

Hey everyone!

Does anyone have a good catering recommendation in the Midwest, specifically near Indianapolis? I need something for a little get-together at my place before the wedding.

By the way, the Google band is playing my event. I haven't seen them live yet, but I see nothing but good things about them on here. Theyโ€™ve been incredibly professional during the booking process.

I went with Nutrition Catering. They were easily the most reliable and friendly crew out there.
