Honestly, Carl Clark, you can find stuff like that all over the rural Midwest... if you happen to have some friends or family out that way, maybe they could lend a hand? I’ll check with my grandmother; she actually sells it (not to me, obviously), and if I recall correctly, it goes for about $4 or $5 a gallon... (though at a gas station, you're looking at closer to $10 :rolleyes). If you don't strike gold nearby, just shoot me a DM and we'll figure something out! 😉

Look, there's some near me, but it's total garbage... they dump so much sugar in it that it's actually ridiculous. 😢
If I can't track some down, I'll let you know. 😉

does anyone know where I can pick up some decent, authentic local moonshine?

Actually, there's this one family down in Savannah that makes incredible small-batch brandy! It’s really reasonably priced, too, and they’ll even send over a sample if you want to test it out first. If you're interested, just shoot me a DM and I'll send you their number!

Hey.
I'm wondering how much a haircut for a young woman actually runs at a salon these days.
Anyone know anything about that Magellan salon over in Des Moines? Looking for some info... specifically if their pricing covers a trial hairstyle or if that’s an extra charge.

I’ve been hearing all this too. Honestly, I even heard the food isn't actually that bad and they have plenty of it, but lately, the word on the street is about how slow the service is. People say you go out to hit the dance floor and by the time you get back, your order is long gone. So, I’ll make sure to give them a heads-up so they don't pull that on us. Plus, I figure things will probably smooth out a bit by then anyway.

Now I'm just stressing over the music. I haven't got a clue what kind of vibe to go for or how much of it we'll need.

Hey, I had my wedding last November and none of that happened to us. There was tons of food left over and they let us take it all home—they definitely didn't rush us through the meal. The stew was great and the servers were always on it and super professional... honestly, we didn't have a single complaint after the wedding and were thrilled with how everything was organized and handled. That's just my experience..

Hey there! I was wondering if anyone could point me toward some great catering options—ideally something that won't break the bank—around the Slough County area? Specifically looking for recommendations in Gary, Indiana. I’d really appreciate any leads you guys might have!
P.S. Also, I’m totally new to this forum, so hello everyone! Big news on my end—I’m getting married on August 18th of this year! 😍

The food at the Matičević center is actually top-tier. I’ve been there four times for wedding receptions, and I’m heading back again this Friday—I'm pretty sure it'll be just as good as always. 😁

I found a guy who handles everything—setup, serving, all of it. All I need is him at my place for a few hours in the yard before the ceremony. He does pastries, crackers, desserts, and sets up platters with cheese, fruit, veggies, and deli meats. It sounds like he can even source everything himself.
He doesn't fly solo, obviously 🙂; he brings his own servers. He just suggests a headcount based on how many guests are coming
The price is solid, and I've heard nothing but good things about him. Everything is negotiable, and he seems like a straight shooter. Since he's working my event in a month, I won't know for sure until then 😁
If that kind of setup works for you, I can pass along his number so you can reach out 😉

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! 🙂

So, up to this point, I've really only heard about Matićević Catering and Grapevine... so I think I'll reach out to them first to see what's up... I was actually hoping there might be another all-in-one catering option I haven't stumbled upon yet—you know, someone who handles absolutely everything? My family is being super particular; they really don't want any of the stress that comes with all those last-minute prep details...

And oh my gosh, here's another huge question... does anyone know where I can find some gorgeous champagne-colored heels or sandals for the wedding party? Honestly, around here in the Midwest, it feels like there just isn't a single shop with a decent selection of nice dress shoes 🙂

I saw some gorgeous champagne satin heels over at a shoe store near the University of Osijek, but the heels were way too high for me—about 4 inches.

Hey there. Does anyone actually have the inside scoop on that hall over in that small town in the Midwest? I'm looking for specifics—like, what’s the damage on the price tag, and how many people can we actually cram in there before it gets ridiculous?

deja0106 Onyx does catering too, and you should check out Lepida's wedding on Facebook.

For those of us who need a bit more support in the bust department, I hit up a Target today and scored this gorgeous white push-up bra in a 36D. It fits perfectly. It has straps, but honestly, I don't mind them at all, especially since it was only about $25.

Ladies, does anyone happen to know where I can track down this specific mesh for a birdcage veil, similar to the one in this photo? I am absolutely refusing to give up on finding this style of headpiece, but I'm completely stumped on where to buy, source, or even rent one. Please, if you have any leads, let me know!

Has anyone ever made the trip over to Mexico just to stock up on booze? I need to grab another 10L of herbal liqueur, 15L of bourbon, 10L of vodka, and 90L of concentrated juice (TO)

I’m honestly not sure if it’s worth making two or three separate trips for this. I have no clue what the price difference is between here and there, so if anyone can help me out, please! I need to get moving soon since the wedding is less than a month away. 🙂

The herbal liqueur is probably about half the price of the rest, and I guess everything else might be cheaper too.🙂

This is what I have in mind. Does anyone happen to know where I might be able to buy, rent, or perhaps even commission something similar in the Midwest? Thanks. 🙂
