Hey, does anyone know if there's anywhere to train Jeet Kune Do in the area? I guess maybe somewhere near downtown?
I was scouring the web for absolutely nothing, I guess.

Lol, I doubt he’s going to answer you since he’s based out of LA.
There is no JKD in San Diego.😢
Maybe at some random club... but there isn't a dedicated school.

I remember seeing some guy on this forum—I think he was from somewhere out west like Portland—who used to train Jeet Kune Do. I can't quite recall which thread it was, maybe sometime in the latter half of last year...🙂

Hey, does anyone know if there’s someone teaching judo over in the Cleveland area? I was hoping to pick someone's brain and get some details... you know, like what the membership fees look like or if they're cool with older beginners joining in on the action...

Right, there was someone training somewhere out in the Pacific Northwest, but I just can't wrap my head around his username. 🤷

If memory serves, I think he went by mistyviper2... and the subject matter he obsessed over... (dramatic silence) ... "Bruce Lee..." 😉

I think there were some posts about Jeet Kune Do training in that old abandoned military base where those various non-profit community groups set up shop now—that whole scene. I also heard there’s Jeet Kune Do in River City, but since I'm not from around there, I haven't a clue where. I suspect someone mentioned it on the forum once. Honestly, finding a decent Jeet Kune Do club is like trying to grab a dragon by its testicles. A Japanese dragon, specifically, given the wings. Jeet Kune Do in the city? Where exactly?

I'm curious if anyone knows of a solid gym over in the Savica area or near that neighborhood. I realize this isn't strictly relevant to the main topic, but I figured you all might know a quality spot, so I thought I'd ask.

Trenk’s running training sessions at both the high school over on El Paso and the Amika sports center—I think that one just opened up—over on Stefanovecka.

I was hoping to ask them a few specific questions, so if you guys happen to run into them at your own gym or training session, could you please --->pm me?

Regarding Tiger, I was just passing along what I heard firsthand from the crew training there. If things have changed, then hey, good for Tiger and everyone else—more competition just makes the game better.
Greetings to the Tigers, see you all in the ring.

Hey tiger, I know one instructor who's absolutely top-tier. Unfortunately, he’s rarely around because his side hustle keeps him busy. Apparently, his students just adore him? Why? Because he treats everyone as an individual. He actually takes the time to sit down with you and break everything down to the tiniest detail. Honestly, it's such a shame there aren't more instructors like him out there. Major respect to the coach!

Is there anyone out there who dabbles in amateur filmmaking for kung fu or just any kind of martial arts movies? I’m talking about those DIY projects with choreographed fight scenes and all that good stuff. It’s a huge interest of mine, but I have no clue where to find a crew like that. Specifically looking for people in the Greater Los Angeles area, by the way.

Is there anyone in Los Angeles who actually practices Wing Tsun? Ideally the Leung Ting style. I’m aware there isn’t a dedicated club nearby, but I’m wondering if there’s just a group of enthusiasts out there training on their own, or if anyone would even be down to start something similar?

Greetings!

I have a question for you experts out there—what would you recommend in terms of martial arts? To be clear, I’m not really looking for judo or anything involving grappling. I’m searching for something more rhythmic, almost akin to dance... if that makes sense? More like "karate-dance." I’m not quite sure how to put it into words—I remember watching an old movie years ago that featured this exact style.

If you know exactly what I’m referring to, please let me know! If my explanation is a bit muddled, then that’s on me—I’m having a little trouble articulating it properly. Thanks!

@hiddensailor14, if I actually knew what this sport was called—honestly—I would have just used Google, wouldn't I?🙂 Ali, since I wasn't there—I figured I'd just ask here... Thanks for the response. 🙂

Hey, I have a quick question here

I'm from Columbus and just started training Aikido. I think it's an awesome martial art, but I feel like I need a way to release more energy. Even though I haven't been at it long—and I'm definitely still a beginner—I feel like it doesn't translate much to real-world self-defense outside of the dojo.

I'm looking for the best mix of punches, kicks, and even throws. What do you guys think about Karate, Taekwondo, or Wing Chun?

Any advice would be great!
