Hey everyone.
Got a question... not sure if I'm in the right spot here, but whatever, I need some help...
So, I hooked up with my boyfriend a few days after my period ended—supposedly my fertile window, apparently. We aren't exactly trying for a baby right now, though we wouldn't say no. Anyway, I got my next period totally on schedule, actually a bit heavier than usual, and then I went ahead and took a test just to be sure. It was negative. But lately, I keep hearing stories about women having what they thought was a normal period for months while being pregnant... so now I'm wondering if that could happen to me. I mean, I’ve been starving lately, my breasts feel tight, my stomach feels weird, and I’m running to the bathroom constantly. My OB-GYN told me a long time ago that because of how my uterus is positioned, I’ll have a low belly that puts a lot of pressure on my bladder. Is it possible I'm actually pregnant? It’s not even PMS time yet. Is this a real possibility... or just a bunch of random coincidences happening at once?
Thanks.

Why don't you just go see an OB-GYN for a checkup?

P.S. You're in the wrong thread. This section is for people talking about actual pregnancy symptoms—meaning people who are already pregnant.

This might sound like a pretty silly question... but... I’m in a bit of a panic right now... my period is already ten days late... and I can't stop worrying. I'm honestly stuck—I don't know what else to do besides taking a pregnancy test or booking an appointment with a doctor at a clinic like Mayo Clinic... so, what kind of symptoms should I be looking for? Is there actually any reason to be this stressed out?...
My last sexual encounter was about 23 days ago... and since then, nothing has felt off, other than the fact that my cycle hasn't started... though I have been dealing with a fair amount of stress lately...
What’s my best move here?
Thanks in advance...😢

And why on earth wouldn't you just take a test? I don't follow your logic... symptoms vary wildly from one woman to the next. One person might feel everything while another feels absolutely nothing at all.

And just how on earth would one go about determining whether they are pregnant or not if we aren't talking about using a home test or making an appointment with an OB-GYN?!?! Please, do enlighten us all, I beg of you—what other possible method could there even exist!

Honey... if you hadn't noticed, I'm asking about symptoms...

There really aren't any definitive signs of pregnancy right away, you know? Pregnancy symptoms can manifest as needing to use the restroom more frequently, perhaps some tenderness or swelling in the breasts, or even those little aches in your ovaries. But isn't it interesting how those could also be the exact same symptoms signaling that your period is just around the corner?

Yeah, yeah, thanks for all the birthday wishes. Honestly, if I could just shave a few years off my age, that’d be the dream—though at this rate, I can barely even toast to myself. Heh. Anyway, wishing you all the best, ladies... everyone else too.

My period is three days late—but honestly, I wouldn’t even be surprised since I had this tiny bit of spotting about five days ago. Just like, five drops, and then nothing. I’m actually terrified to go out and buy a test because I can't handle another disappointment—we’ve been trying so hard to conceive. A few days after we hooked up, my stomach was cramping so badly I thought I was going to lose it. On top of all that, everyone who sees me keeps asking if I'm pregnant. It’s not funny at all, though like I said, I'm just scared of getting a negative result again. My breasts feel a little heavy/tight, but they don't really ache or anything.

I would be seriously grateful if you guys could share your thoughts or give me some advice... PLEASE.

My last period was on November 12th, and usually, my cycle is pretty much clockwork. My boyfriend and I have slept together a few times without a condom, even though he never actually finished inside me. But for the last ten days, I’ve been spiraling into this massive panic about being pregnant, and now we’re both absolutely terrified and stressed out. I don't really have any major symptoms—my breasts aren't sensitive at all, I'm not peeing more than usual, and I get these slight waves of nausea, but honestly, I can't tell if that's actual pregnancy or just the result of me being a total nervous wreck and stressing myself out. Also, I feel a bit more "wet" down there than usual. My period should be coming any day now, but aside from sudden mood swings and being super irritable, I don't feel anything else... I've taken two tests so far and both were negative (though, full disclosure, I didn't use my first morning urine). What do you guys think?

I know this probably sounds stupid and irrational, but I am just so scared of everything. If anyone can help... what were your symptoms like in the very early stages? Did you feel different in any way, anything at all... Thanks so much!

It’s only December 31st, so you're basically panicking for no reason. But since you're already there—if I were you, I'd just head to the doctor right now and stop the guessing game.
Most women don't feel anything that early on, and they'll likely just list symptoms that haven't even happened yet, which is the last thing you need to hear right now.

So, I'm about two weeks out from when my period is supposed to show up, and honestly, my breasts are so sore I can barely deal with it. Plus, there’s been this tiny bit of spotting—nothing crazy, just a little something. I popped an at-home pregnancy test today and it came back negative, but I have a feeling it might just be way too early for it to pick up anything yet. Does anyone know if there's a better, more reliable brand out there I should try instead?

Look, you can't really tell if you're pregnant two weeks out... just hang tight and wait until the day you're actually supposed to get your period... or, I guess if you're seriously losing your mind waiting... maybe try testing a day or two early.

I'm currently at 10 DPO—though based on my BBT, I probably ovulated on day 16—and since the second day after ovulation (fingers crossed it was actually conception🙂), I’ve been feeling this weird discomfort... just cramps and pressure, almost like I'm about to get my period. Plus, over the last two or three days, I feel like I'm hitting the bathroom way more often.
Then, I stumbled upon some info saying you can catch an early pregnancy using LH strips, so I figured why not? I've tested a few times now and there's definitely a faint line appearing—it seems to be getting darker every single day!??!!
What do you guys think? Is it worth getting my hopes up?

Just wanted to jump in here and join the conversation

As for my own situation, my husband and I actually started trying for a baby just a couple of months ago. This month, my period is already about 10 days late, which is really unusual for me since my cycle is typically very predictable.
I took a test three days ago, but it came back negative.
Lately, I’ve been feeling like I have to use the bathroom constantly, my breasts feel swollen, and my temperature has been hovering between 98.6 and 99.3 degrees. Honestly, I'm at a bit of a loss—I can't figure out what's going on, though I am noticing some increased white discharge.
I used a standard pregnancy test last night and it was negative again, so I'm feeling pretty conflicted...
Do you think I should keep testing? It doesn't seem like it was too early to check, considering I waited seven days after my expected period date before taking it...
If anyone has any insight, please let me know 🙂
Thanks

Look, those tests can be total flakes sometimes. Honestly, you’re probably better off just hanging tight for a few days and then trying again first thing in the morning. If that one still comes up negative, go see a doctor just so you can finally stop stressing out and get some peace of mind. I'm rooting for you... really hoping you see that positive sign soon... just like all us girls are hoping for.
By the way, do you have any advice for me???

You should try the test again first thing in the morning; evening samples tend to be much less reliable...🙂
If you happen to be in Chicago, you can always go to an urgent care clinic for a blood test. They are incredibly accurate and usually quite affordable...😉
