Nicholas Howard60 said:Hey, hi... I have a quick question. About two weeks ago, I hooked up with my boyfriendβ€”it was the 6th day after my period ended. We used the "pull out" method. We also slept together about 5 or 6 days before that, using the same method. The issue is that for the last few days, I’ve been feeling nauseous (I actually threw up yesterday morning), and I think smells are hitting me a bit harder than usual. My head has been killing me at times, I get these sudden hot flashes, and for the last two days, my stomach has been cramping like I'm about to start my period. I have some spotting, too, and my breasts are sore (not specifically the nipples, just the sides, I guess...). This morning, around 3:00 AM, I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. But can I actually trust it? My last periods were on March 10th, February 14th, and even January 24th... they're a little irregular. I don't know... maybe all these symptoms are just from stress. Sorry for the long post.

Since your last cycle was 24 days, you likely ovulate around day 10. If you had sex on day 6, there's a tiny chance of pregnancy since those could have been fertile days, but since you used the pull-out method, the odds are pretty slim. You're only on day 20 of your cycle right now, so it's definitely way too early to rely on a test. As for the nausea and hot flashes, my boyfriend is actually dealing with those exact same things right now πŸ˜‰ because he caught a virus πŸ˜‰

The withdrawal method is incredibly unreliable. My partner and I actually ended up conceiving that way β˜•, even though it was during a window when we weren't supposed to be fertile according to my usually predictable cycleβ€”ovulation just happened to be delayed by about a week πŸ™‚...
A man releases small amounts of sperm before he even reaches climax, so if one of those cells manages to make the journey, you're looking at 😁

I’d suggest waiting a few days, and if your period still hasn't arrived, just take another test...
It is entirely possible that you are pregnant but the HCA Healthcare levels aren't high enough to detect yet, or perhaps you simply aren't πŸŽ‰

Well, he’s actually really good at pulling out on time because we've been using that method for a year now and haven't had any luck making a baby 🀣.

We’ve been doing things that way for six years, and I haven't even gotten pregnant.

We’re really hoping I am pregnant (even though we weren't exactly planning thisβ€”it’s actually the first time we’ve even tried the "pull out" method, despite being together for a loooong time...) but honestly, part of me is worried it might just be all this stress. I don't know... deep down, I feel like it probably isn't happening. 😒

If you didn't manage to conceive using withdrawal, maybe give regular intercourse a try instead.🀣

I once had a negative test result when I was actually pregnant. πŸ˜‰ Maybe wait a little longer before testing again, or just head to the OB-GYN for an ultrasound or a blood test request.

That method of contraception is even less reliable than tracking fertile days. Just because someone hasn't gotten pregnant for years using that method doesn't mean they're safe.

So I took another test today, day 23 of my cycleβ€”the STEP 1 kind. A faint blue line showed up right at the edge of the little window instead of being close to the actual test line. What does that even mean? Honestly, I'm pretty confused right now.

What does the manual actually say regarding that? 🀷

I am simply bumping this thread back to the top because Little Lola has gone on another one of her little tantrums, claiming that discussing actual symptoms is somehow problematic β˜•

We were there for five years before I finally stopped. We actually decided to try for a baby, and about a year after our first one arrived, we realized the withdrawal method wasn't exactly foolproof. So, we went ahead and had our second little one. 😍

So, what happened in the end? Did you retake the test?

James Sanders22 said:Look, ladies, if there isn't a legitimate concern involved, then what is the point of even taking a test? Why does this thread even exist if those of you who recognize the symptoms won't step up and offer some insight? It shouldn't be this difficult. For some people, $10 is more than enough. I don't envy anyone going through this uncertainty, though I am certainly not indifferent myself. However, I have no intention of rushing to a CVS just because I feel slightly nauseous. Nausea can stem from countless different issues. I refuse to buy a pregnancy test every single time my stomach turns. Please, try to be helpful when we ask questions; remember how unsettling it felt for you when you were facing that same uncertainty.

Hey there! I’m finally jumping into this forum... though I really just want to pick your brains about some crazy anxiety I've been dealing with, haha... So, here's the deal (and just a heads up, my cycles are usually pretty irregular), I was sleeping over at my boyfriend's place back in late February. We got a little carried away and started without a condom, though we did switch to using one later on... The thing is, that was right around when I should have been ovulating, so now I'm spiralingβ€”is a tiny amount of semen really enough to cause a pregnancy? I did get my period afterward, but it was incredibly light, almost like it barely happened at all. I took a few testsβ€”an Intim+ and then a Gravignost Mini, if I remember correctlyβ€”and they both came back negative! Everything would be fine if my friends hadn't gone and told me that spotting can actually happen during the first few months of pregnancy, which has me totally worried... Now I've had another period, but once again, it was super light... Hmm... I don't really feel any specific symptoms, so I'm starting to think I might just be imagining things... God, my imagination is out of control!!😁

Look, I mean, what kind of relationship are you even having if you two haven't been intimate since late February? 😁 I honestly think enough time has passed now that any standard test would give you a definitive answer, and if it comes back negative, then there really isn't anything left to worry about at all. πŸ˜‰

Heh.🀣
Look, instead of wasting my breath questioning the whole situation, I’m just sitting here worrying about the possibility of being pregnant.πŸ™‚

Had unprotected sex twice right during my ovulation window. A few days later, I noticed some light brown spotting. My breasts are swollen and sore, and I’ve got these cramps in my lower abdomen that feel just like PMS. The discharge hasn't stopped either. My period isn't due until April 14th. I've never had spotting like this before. Is there any chance I'm pregnant? Has anyone else dealt with these specific symptoms and ended up pregnant? Not sure if it's even worth taking a test yet. Usually, I ovulate a few days after my period ends, sometimes right around day 12 or 14 of my cycle.
