I overthink everything, and eventually, I'll probably convince myself my period is late just because I'm spiraling 🤣 ....and then Dr. Miller will have to deal with me😢

I honestly don't know how to relax, and my husband keeps calling every half hour, which just makes us both more restless...

Just put the phone on silent...🤣 🤣

Tell him he should try taking a test himself. If his comes back negative, maybe then he can spend some time actually thinking, crying, or losing his mind a little bit...🤣 😁

Let him see what we go through. Seriously, sometimes men can be so impossible and exhausting to deal with...

I am currently sixteen weeks along, though it feels as if time is moving quite slowly. I find myself longing for one more addition to our family; I have a two-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son, both of whom have been absolute joys in my life. I suppose I can endure this period of waiting just a little longer, hoping that we might see one more positive sign and welcome a small new blessing into our home. Until then, I honestly cannot fathom how I will manage to cope with all this uncertainty.🙂

If your period is late but the test came back negative, it’s usually not pregnancy. Most tests pick up on it just one day after you miss your period.

I think I remember User123 posting about this once. She was talking about how the fetal measurements didn't seem right. Her tests were coming back negative, she had some bleeding, and then it turned out she actually was pregnant after all.

It is now the sixth day 🙂 since my last cycle ended, and I have yet to see even the slightest sign of pregnancy on a home test. Is it possible that the fetal development isn't progressing at the expected rate, or perhaps my ovulation occurred much later than anticipated? If so, is it truly impossible for an OBGYN to detect anything via ultrasound at this stage? Normally, I experience significant bloating leading up to my period, yet this month, I feel almost nothing. I am at a loss as to how to proceed; the uncertainty is becoming quite overwhelming. Should I request a blood test to check my HCG levels? Please, I would appreciate any guidance you can offer. Thank you all.

Why are you rushing so much? You're only six days late, which honestly isn't a big deal... if I were you, I'd wait a few more days, take another test, and then call the doctor to figure out why things are running behind...

I am in no rush at all; rather, I find myself in a state of eager anticipation, hoping for positive news. I have already consulted with my OB-GYN, and everything appears to be perfectly fine from a medical standpoint, though nothing can be visually confirmed regarding the pregnancy just yet. My period is also late. In my view, expectant mothers should be met with support and encouragement rather than being discouraged. When one encounters posts like this, it makes it incredibly difficult to remain optimistic, and quite frankly, it causes me to lose hope.😢

Hey Keith Nguyen9, if you're already six days late, a test would definitely pick it up by now... assuming your cycle is somewhat regular. I deal with late ovulation myself too, but even then, I’m pretty sure once you hit that fourteen-day mark after ovulation, you'd get a clear answer. Still, there are always exceptions to the rule... 🤷 So, did your OB-GYN give you any pills to kickstart things or maybe something to help keep the pregnancy steady if you're testing positive?...

The absence of a visible scan from an OBGYN does not necessarily mean there is nothing there; it is quite possible it is simply too early. You ought to wait a few days before scheduling another appointment or taking another test. In my experience, a test turned positive on the fifth day of a missed period, while my doctor suggested coming in around the tenth day, and by the second week, everything was clearly visible. 🙂

Furthermore, do not allow anyone—especially a stranger—to discourage you or dampen your spirits. Everything will turn out fine 🙂 and I am certain that Nancy Grant did not intend to be unkind.

It won't be necessary...🤣Well... I finally got my results back...😢It seems like they don't call that much anymore...🤣
The news just arrived...😢

I've decided that—I'm officially symptom-free! So if you see me popping up on the forums in a month with all my crazy ideas... feel free to call me out...😂

This was my first time coming here, desperately searching for some reassurance about my pregnancy... I really hope I can count on you all...

I’ll keep following along, but next time I express doubt, it’ll likely be after seeing at least one faint positive test... and hopefully, that won't be ten years from now... 😂😂

Thanks for being so patient...😉

I have one more question. I know I'm drifting a bit from the main topic, so I hope the mods don't mind...
Starting today, I'm tracking my basal body temperature, but since I'm currently on antibiotics, I was wondering if that might mess with my readings?

Sending love to all the ladies out there who refuse to give up!!!

Thank you all so much for the support; reading such kind words is truly encouraging. I haven't received any news just yet. Regarding the testing, I followed the protocol and took a test two days after my missed period, which came back negative. However, based on my calculations, conception likely occurred around October 31st, which means there is simply no way anything would be visible on an ultrasound just yet. I plan to be patient for another week, though I will keep a close eye on things if I start feeling even slightly feverish. I am holding onto hope that we will see a little one soon. Even my godmother is getting excited; she keeps telling me to look after her future godchild and to make sure I'm eating enough small snacks for the sake of the baby I am so eagerly awaiting. Thank you everyone, and I will be sure to update you all as soon as I have more information.🙂Extremely sleepy🙏

I experienced this exact same thing during my second pregnancy; the tests came back negative and there was absolutely nothing visible on the scans. I eventually found myself being rushed to the hospital under the suspicion of an ectopic pregnancy, where they were prepared to perform surgery on my little girl, who is now two and a half years old. However, I felt a deep, unshakable intuition telling me otherwise, and I actually slipped away from the hospital to ensure my sister could sign the release forms so I could take full responsibility for my own medical decisions. Just one week later, during a follow-up ultrasound with my OBGYN, we heard the tiny, unmistakable heartbeat of my little one. 🙂What are your thoughts on this? My doctor hasn't prescribed any medication yet, but she did advise me that if my cycle remains delayed, I should return in a week for another checkup.

Well, at least you saved some money on tests after I told you not to buy them...

Everything will turn out fine. Just calm your nerves, relax... forget about the temperature readings for now...

Just imagine living in the Middle Ages. Imagine what those women went through back then. You think they were checking temperatures? They just waited for signs—if it happened, it happened. I'm telling you, everything happens in its own time... it’s all written somewhere. You can't jump ahead of fate, and a thermometer isn't going to change that..

I know how much you want this... but you'll be celebrating once you finally "cool down" a bit. Your body is so tense. You've got cramps in your stomach because you're anxious... slow down. Take a few deep breaths. Inhale... exhale....

The baby is near you. It’s watching, observing. Let it in. Open the door. But it's a spiritual thing—stay calm, stay quiet, find your peace....

😉😉

Why even bother going to the doctor if it's only a few days late?
I usually didn't even show up until two months in. The later, the better... a baby needs peace, not constant testing, poking, prodding, and medications...

If the test is negative after just a couple of days, there's a low chance of pregnancy, but there's really no need to rush to the clinic, even if you see a positive line....
On an ultrasound, you can hardly see anything before 5 or 6 weeks anyway... at 6 weeks it's just a tiny speck, and most people don't even realize it until around 3 weeks, when it's practically microscopic,...

Keith Nguyen9, you need to calm down too...

You are correct, dear; peace of mind is essential. However, what happens if you simply ignore a potential issue and things go wrong? Of course you will feel regret if something isn't right. It has been a week since my test was due; I attempted to take it two days after missing the window, though I did so in the afternoon rather than the morning—despite the fact that it requires morning administration—and the result came back negative. Furthermore, the instructions explicitly stated that one should avoid consuming fluids before the test, yet I had already drank quite a bit before I finally read those directions 🤷

redo it tomorrow morning following the instructions precisely. if you didn't follow the protocol correctly, there is a distinct possibility the results are invalid. good luck 🙂

Just do it tomorrow morning. Go buy a test today (if there's a 24-hour CVS or Walgreens nearby), and take it first thing in the morning.

At such an early stage, if we're talking about a true positive, even a doctor can't tell you if everything is okay. Not yet. They won't know until much later. I've had six pregnancies—three ended in miscarriages—so I know a thing or two. With my last baby, I was at ultrasounds constantly from week 5 all the way to 16 weeks and 4 days, every two weeks like clockwork. Sometimes I was even at the hospital for Doppler scans, and everything seemed fine. I had a clear, massive placenta, so they checked me more often; I was taking medication to prevent miscarriage, and then... the baby died in that 17th week.

How? Why? Nobody knows. Honestly, I think I had too many checkups and ultrasounds. I think I had about eight ultrasounds during those week 11 appointments alone.

The point is, there are no guarantees for anything.

It is what it is. It'll happen how it happens. You can visit the doctor every single day and spend all your time at the hospital, but if the baby is meant to leave, it will leave. If the baby is meant to be born, it will be born....

(I have a feeling you'll have a little girl, just look after your health afterward)

🤷Hmm... is it possible that my feet are already starting to ache slightly whenever I have to stand for extended periods?😕🤷

Honestly, dear, I agree with you on everything (as always 😁)... I already mentioned that my husband is only home about three months out of the year... so you stay pregnant... meanwhile, babies are popping up everywhere around me! 😠
For now, I'm just the aunt who buys all the gifts! 🤣🤣

And that last part you wrote was absolutely beautiful!!! 🙂

I went through every single "pregnancy symptom" imaginable... I probably would have even started feeling contractions in a few days, all while dealing with two negative tests and then my period showing up right on schedule...🤣

I really hope luck is on your side and you see a big, bright positive on the next test...👍
