Let me be quite clear once more: spotting is not a definitive diagnostic tool. A significant number of women experience light bleeding during early pregnancy, so one shouldn't place much weight on discharge or those typical pregnancy symptoms. It would be most prudent to simply go out and purchase a test so you can have some certainty. I realize you are likely feeling desperate and in a state of absolute panic right now, but I suggest you attempt to remain calm and refrain from dwelling on every possible worst-case scenario.👍

Please don't do that again. I've already had to delete three of your posts.

Just so you know, that clear or whitish discharge usually shows up a few days before ovulation. And honestly, pregnancy can happen even without full intercourse due to pre-ejaculate.

So, yeah, it's possible. Though I wouldn't bet on it. Have you thought about just taking a test?

But here’s the real kicker: I’m dealing with every single PMS symptom imaginable. It’s the same old story, really. I have that constant, nagging feeling that my period is going to drop any second now, yet it’s just... late. It’s driving me absolutely crazy... It hasn’t been out by much, but this usually happens like clockwork—maybe a day or a day and a half at most. Now, my stomach is bloated as hell, just like always, and honestly? I feel completely gross and heavy...

You honestly expect a diagnosis here?

Go grab a Starbucks, snap a photo of your SOC, and then maybe we'll give you some actual insight.

Has it crossed your mind that the stress might actually be what's causing the delay? You even mentioned that you're feeling all those typical pre-period symptoms.

Did you know that stress can also impact your cycle?

Don't sweat it too much. If you think you might be pregnant, just take a test. If you don't (and I'm leaning towards you aren't), just wait for it to happen. Mine was five days late once and I wasn't pregnant at all.

If you can't handle it, don't get involved.🙄

One should be prepared for these kinds of situations, for heaven's sake.

It's not as if we're all going to jump off a bridge over this.

I know 😢

but you actually have to use some logic here

one thing is venting about how terrified you are because there's even a slim chance you might be pregnant

the other is expecting us to tell you whether you're pregnant or not based on the stars, right?

keep a cool head given the circumstances

You've essentially cluttered this entire subforum with posts, asking questions that we can't even begin to answer since you haven't bothered to put together a proper test, and then you have the audacity to call someone else rude. 😲

desiree, I really appreciate you being so honest and for the kind words. I know I’m spiraling a bit here, but honestly, what am I supposed to do? I just don't feel mature enough to handle motherhood yet. It feels like everyone goes through something similar to what happened to me... that one split second where you let your guard down, and just like that, your entire life is different... thanks to everyone else for weighing in too...

Yeah, she’s harsh, but she isn't wrong.

As the thread title suggests... just buy a test.

Edit: You don't need to be mature enough to be a parent to have sex, but you do need enough maturity to understand this:
a) prevention,
b) how to find out,
c) what to do if it happens (and no, I don't just mean abortion; you can choose to give birth, but you have to be capable of making that call).

So, look at this... everything I wrote, and somehow it all lands right on my doorstep?? It’ll happen to you guys too eventually—something you won't see coming—and then you'll be looking for help, only to find that when someone tries to step in without any actual reason, things aren't going to go quite so smoothly...

It’s already happened. I went out and bought a test. 😎

If it’s only been 13 days since that risky encounter, isn't it a little early for a test? Results might be a dud at this stage. Maybe hang tight for a few more days to see what happens, or just hit up an OB-GYN if you're losing sleep over it...
But seriously, try not to stress too much.

After the fact... there is no use in regrets. It is a simple, albeit harsh, truth. Taylor Swift, everyone here is attempting to offer their unsolicited advice from one angle or another, but if you aren't planning on starting a family in the immediate future, you simply have to practice protection. You are currently in this situation; there is no sense in preemptive panic. When would your next period be expected?

No, it isn't too early, considering the luteal phase usually lasts about 14 days (anywhere from 10 to 16 is pretty standard) and she was actually due for her period yesterday or the day before.
