My doctor told me I could start trying for a baby right away after stopping the pill. Apparently, there’s zero waiting around since your body clears everything out so fast! But then again, we all know if you miss just one pill, there’s a chance you could get pregnant... so...

I mean, I honestly feel like there are two sides to this—on one hand, you have the chance at pregnancy, but on the other, there’s all that intense chemistry being pumped into your system...
because—just think about it—after you miss just a single pill, your hormone levels drop enough that ovulation could kick in,
but that doesn't mean your hormones have just "evaporated" into thin air... the chemicals are still very much in there.
I'm not saying it'll definitely harm an embryo, but I can't rule it out either—who actually knows for sure?
Some girls in this thread were mentioning it might take up to six months for your body to fully clear everything out, which honestly makes sense to me,
and look, it's true that the human body is incredibly adaptable—there are always those natural mechanisms and all that stuff working to balance things out,
but still, after swallowing so many pills, I find it impossible to believe that I'll just be "back to normal" in two days,
you know, like I never even took a single one... if these things are powerful enough to halt my ovulation and basically overhaul my entire system,
I seriously doubt all those hormones can just vanish from my body that quickly...
Again—I'm not saying it definitely has a negative impact on an embryo, I just think nobody really knows the answer, maybe not even the OB-GYNs,
it's pretty obvious that everyone has a different take on this and gives totally different advice to their patients.

Some women struggle to conceive even without pills. But I know two people—one’s a close friend—who were pregnant the very next month after quitting birth control.

There’s no such thing as "waiting for your body to detox." It all comes down to individual hormone levels and fertility. 😉

So, I was on the Pill for 9 years and I actually stopped taking it about 2 months ago. Is it possible for me to have gotten pregnant during these last 2 months? And roughly how long does it usually take to conceive after you quit the Pill?

It’s definitely possible. In fact—and this might sound a bit surprising—there’s actually a higher chance of having multiple births immediately after you stop using oral contraceptives.

Wait, did I just see that? MelodyNine—hold on, let me catch my breath for a second—I feel like we’re finally getting somewhere here! Honestly, seeing this thread move along like this is just… it’s everything. It’s like when you finally find that one perfect song on a random indie playlist and you just have to sit there and *listen*, you know? Just soak it in. Anyway, back to what was being said—I really wanted to jump in because I think there’s such a massive point being made here about how we approach these things. It’s easy to get caught up in the noise, right? The constant chatter, the distractions—it’s like trying to hear a whisper in the middle of Times Square during rush hour. You just have to tune everything else out and focus on the core truth. And speaking of tuning in—did anyone else notice how much the vibe has shifted since earlier today? It feels different—more grounded, maybe? Or perhaps I’m just overthinking it again (guilty as charged, I know!). But there’s definitely a shift. A certain energy. Like the air right before a summer thunderstorm rolls through the Midwest—heavy, expectant, and just a little bit electric. I’m really looking forward to hearing what everyone else thinks about this part of the discussion. Please, don't hold back! I want the deep dives, the tangents, the whole thing. Let's keep this momentum going! kaže:
It’s funny how things work sometimes—you know, for some women, even without being on any birth control, it can take quite a while to actually conceive. It's just how biology goes, right? But then you have cases like two people I know—and one of them is actually a really close friend of mine—who both ended up pregnant the very next month after they stopped taking their pills. Just... boom. Right on schedule. Nature is wild like that, isn't it?

So, yeah—there’s really no such thing as an official "body detox" period—and honestly, your options for dealing with that stuff depend entirely on where you stand with your own hormones and fertility levels. 😉

It’s obvious—everything just keeps circling back to that one idea, you know? That whole "it’s all completely individual" thing. Everything—really everything—just gravitates toward that one point. 😁

Thanks for all the replies, everyone.
I’m really hoping I DIDN'T get pregnant. There aren't any signs pointing that way. Honestly, I don't want a kid right now because I've been dealing with a serious illness, which is actually why my boyfriend and I split up—so I stopped taking the pill. But at the start of this month, things just happened twice in one night. I completely blanked on the fact that I wasn't on the pill anymore, and since I never had to track anything when I was on them, I have no clue when my period is even due. It's just wild to think I could actually be pregnant after being on the pill for nine years and then stopping for such a short window...

Thanks for the kind words, eudora. I think I'll just rephrase them to: "I hope you find it easier to cope while living with an incurable illness and 80% disability" (which is why that "jerk" walked out on me)

Man, Jeffrey Lopez31, I’m truly sorry. Believe me, you can be stronger than you think in situations like this.🙂
Keeping my fingers crossed that everything turns out okay.

Thanks everyone....
I know I'm strong—stronger than him, actually. He ran away, and it’s something I have to wake up to and deal with every single day. Besides, he couldn't even manage to show up at the hospital when I was there for my week-long IV treatments. That's why I'm so anxious right now; if I happened to be pregnant, my whole situation would just get so much more complicated...
I'm really hoping I'm not, so please keep your fingers crossed for me...
Kisses

Greetings everyone, we are currently conducting some research regarding contraception, so we would appreciate it if you could take a moment to complete this survey;
http://www.esurveyspro.com/Survey.as...9-e481c921cdf7

The survey is completely anonymous, and it would be quite helpful to hear your thoughts on oral hormonal contraceptives... THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
P.S. Please feel free to elaborate... your input would mean a great deal to us.

In my case, it took 9 days, and my husband worked overtime on twins. 😂

well, my friend is totally nuts😁
apparently, it’s been proven (sorry if we already went over this) that there's a higher chance of having twins during the first month after being on the pill.

Hey there! 👋

So, I went to my OB-GYN recently because I finally decided I wanted to start on birth control pills. You know how it is—just ready for that next step. After we talked it through, they sent me off to get some blood work done. Apparently, they’re looking at everything, and specifically, they want to check my fibrinogen levels. Just one of those things, I guess.

So, I went and picked up my lab results today. Look, I’m definitely not a doctor or anything, but I was looking at this fibrinogen number and honestly? It’s giving me the creeps. I did a quick deep dive on Dr. Google—which we all know is basically a death sentence if you look too long—and apparently, the standard range is supposed to be somewhere between 1.8 and 3.5 g/L. Meanwhile, my report is sitting there staring back at me with a 6.2. Just... wow. Not exactly the news I was hoping for. 😕😲
Here are the pics, so go ahead and take a look.

Finding? Just finding stuff. Or maybe looking for it. Hard to say. Everything’s just… there. Or isn't. Honestly, I can't even tell if I'm actually searching or just staring at the screen waiting for something to happen. It's all pretty much the same anyway. Nothing special. Just another thing to deal with. Whatever.

Look, I'll be the first to admit it—I’m pretty clueless when it comes to actually making sense of these lab results. It's all just gibberish to me. So, I figured I'd go ahead and ask someone who actually knows what they're talking about. 😁

So, here’s the deal—I’ve never touched a birth control pill in my life. Never. And for the record, I don't smoke, and I don't drink either. Not even on the weekends, which I know sounds wild to some people. I stay active, hit the gym, do sports... just that kind of lifestyle.

Maybe it’s actually a huge deal that I was feeling like absolute garbage—you know, full-on cold, stuffed nose, coughing my lungs out—when I went in for the blood work. And then, on top of that, I went and crushed a heavy workout the night before they drew everything. Like, seriously, does that even matter?

Thanks to everyone who reached out! 😁

P.S. Of course, I would’ve gone straight to a gynecologist about this, but the guy just packed up and moved to New York City. 🙄

Hmm, looks like your reference range is between 1.5 and 4, so you’re actually running a little high (that’s why there’s an H next to it)!

I can't quite remember, but I feel like mine was a tiny bit elevated too when I was getting my labs done... 🤔
My doctor told me it wasn't anything to worry about... 🤷

Hey, finally someone 😍
Thanks.

I just really hope everything turns out okay. Honestly, I have to believe it will, mostly because I've been feeling so sick lately. If they just give me the meds and send me back for more tests—whether it takes a month, two months, whatever—then fine. I'll take it. 🙏

The doctor isn't even in until tomorrow afternoon, so we'll just have to wait and see what the guy says. 🙂

I know I’ve been deep-diving on Google too, but honestly, I haven't found anything useful yet. It’s all gonna be fine!👍
