Does anyone happen to know the costs and the various methods for removal? I am primarily referring to surgical options, though I would certainly welcome any home remedy suggestions as well.🙂

Unfortunately, I can't really offer much help here—though I’m actually just as curious about the answer as you are... (though, honestly, if it were something involving a little bit of DIY home repair 😁, I definitely wouldn't be signing up for surgery myself) 🙂

A friend of mine was struggling with massive dark circles under her eyes. She ended up going to the Poliderm Clinic in Chicago. They really are top-tier. I don't know much about the specifics of the procedure, but Dr. Kaliterna is highly skilled and she saw results after just one session. It was quite the relief for her.

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone could point me toward a solid dentist here in Chicago. I'm looking for someone who actually knows what they're doing but isn't going to absolutely fleece me—I really want to avoid those places that charge extra for every single little thing. Ideally, I'd love to find a clinic that offers ozone therapy for cavities and laser whitening. I know there are tons of options out there, but I’d much rather get a real recommendation from someone who’s actually been there. Thanks a bunch! 😍

I'm looking for a solid dentist around the Neighborhood or Knežija area (roughly that part of town🙂). Ideally, someone who accepts my insurance through the major provider.

Does anyone have recommendations for a good dentist, oral surgeon, or orthodontist in Los Angeles?

Thanks!

I am seeking a recommendation for a neurologist at a private clinic in Chicago. This isn't for my own benefit, but rather for my brother, who is looking for a second opinion; we were thinking of taking his medical records to a private practice for a consultation. 🙂

Hello, everyone,

I am seeking a recommendation for a neurosurgeon in Chicago where I can take my mother's medical records regarding her spinal issues.
I have heard that Dr. Gnjidic and Dr. Buljat are excellent practitioners; does anyone have any information about them, or perhaps know the best way to schedule an appointment for a consultation?
Thanks

I recently visited the Sister of Mercy clinic to see the neurologist Vanja Bašić Kes, and I honestly can't say enough good things about her. She and Dr. Vid Demarin are just incredibly kind and professional, which is great, but more importantly, you can tell they actually care about helping their patients...
As for a neurosurgeon, I might suggest Dr. Josip Paladino over at the Mayo Clinic; I haven't personally been in his care, but my sister says he’s absolutely top-notch.

Thank you! 🙂

Well, then your friend must have had some insane luck, because as for being "expert"... whatever.

My bad, just saw the reply.

Yeah, I was, but mostly after they started bouncing me from doctor to doctor and throwing diagnoses at each other. It made me realize they didn't have a clue what they were doing, which sent me into a panic. That probably messed with my TSH levels—which can cause those low-grade fevers—so it might not be a reliable indicator. I've calmed down since then, but the fever hasn't budged.

Anyway, I'm heading back to the Mayo Clinic on Wednesday for the final results, so we'll see if anything has changed.

Thanks anyway 🙂

Honestly, if it were me, I'd go see the academic expert Vid Demarin. She works over at the big hospital downtown, but she does private practice too—I can't remember the exact street right now, my brain is fried! My mom was actually just hospitalized there recently because she wasn't feeling well, and even my husband went to see her a few years back to get his carotid arteries checked out. She’s super down-to-earth, really approachable, and she’ll actually take the time to explain everything you're wondering about. She's totally straightforward, and honestly, we only went to her because someone recommended her to us too. 🙂

Terry Barrett90 said:Whatever you do, don't let anyone steer you toward Elizabeth Taylor's dentist office at 37 Main Street. It's nothing more than a high-end scam. They’ll try to sell you on some ridiculous dental splint by claiming it will somehow fix your joints, and they charge an absolute fortune for it—anywhere from $5,000 to $2333. When you show up for follow-ups, they weigh your teeth on two different digital scales as if they're checking if one side is heavier than the other. It's absurd. You go in for a simple filling, and they spin such a convincing yarn that you end up buying the splint too... and the actual tooth work isn't even done properly. Just stay far away from that practice.

My experience with this group has been entirely different, so I cannot agree with your assessment. I believe it is improper to disparage someone when you have nothing positive to contribute. It only reflects poorly on your own character. As the saying goes: what goes around comes around...
Best regards,

Has anyone here had any experience getting an eye swab done at the Mayo Clinic?
It turns out that eye swabs are only performed at specific specialized facilities, rather than at every local community health center like my doctor originally led me to believe 🙄. I gave them a call this morning, and while they told me I could drop by whenever I liked, everyone was so high-strung and I was feeling so flustered that I completely forgot to ask even the most basic details, like which specific department I should head to once I arrive....

Turns out only certain facilities even offer them—not every community health center like my doctor claimed 🙄. I called them this morning, and they told me to just show up whenever, but everyone was so high-strung and I was so flustered that I didn't even think to ask which department...

Your best bet is to call them back and double-check if you need to head to the Arlington location or the Rockefeller one. If I remember correctly, they do the swabs over at Rockefeller (that's where I went both times), whereas at Arlington, you're basically just dropping off samples if you had the test done somewhere else.

Oh, thank you so much for that heads-up; I’ll definitely give them a ring.

The central office put me in touch with a lab, and one rather grumpy guy 😁 told me I could just stop by their location, but now I'm sitting here wondering if he meant the one in Arlington or the Rockefeller site. 🤷 Does anyone actually know where that Rockefeller clinic is located?

So, the operator patched me through to this lab where some incredibly pissed-off guy 😁 told me I could just swing by—but now I'm sitting here wondering if he meant the Arlington location or the Rockefeller one 🤷 Does anyone even know where that Rockefeller spot is?

If you're heading from Gupch Star toward Arlington, take the first right immediately—before you even hit the CDC area. That's where the CDC lab is, tucked away in this tiny, sketchy little building right across from the infectious disease unit. Honestly, when I went in, I thought I'd totally misunderstood the directions because the place looked so miserable.

And just a heads-up: be prepared for it to be pretty awkward. They pull your lower eyelid down and start scrubbing away with a Q-tip. I thought they’d just do a quick swipe, but this person wouldn't stop. 😢

Please, just be careful with eye hygiene. Honestly, don't even think about using old eye makeup—it’s better to just toss it out. If you wear contact lenses regularly, make sure you change the solution in your case every single time; if you do that, maybe there won't be any issues at all. Just try not to touch your eyes with dirty hands, and I guess everything should be fine.
