Thanks 🙂

Honestly, everyone over at Rebro is solid; I personally saw Dr. Mrazovac once and they were fine.

I personally see Elizabeth Taylor, and honestly, she’s fantastic. Just give her office a call and ask about their pricing directly.

Sam Castillo5 said:I’ve been dealing with a spinal issue in my cervical vertebrae since I was in middle school, but honestly, the doctors back then never gave me anything remotely helpful or even remotely satisfying. It's been ten years since I last saw Dr. Anticetic for an exam.

Now, almost twelve years later, the problems are resurfacing, so I finally went to my GP to get a referral for an orthopedist. To be blunt, I didn't like Dr. Anticetic even when I was a kid; the guy just doesn't have a clue.
My primary doctor actually told me she doesn't recommend him either and thinks he's pretty bad, so I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with orthopedists or can suggest someone truly competent who specializes in the spine?
I really can't afford a private specialist right now, so I need someone covered by insurance. :/

Thanks a lot. ^^

You should head over to Mayo Clinic. A friend of mine had successful spinal surgery there—I'm not sure which specific surgeon she saw, but I trust their entire team is top-tier.

I’m looking for a dermatologist in NYC who isn't private—mostly because I don't feel right paying $100 out of pocket for an exam I’m entitled to through my insurance, especially since I only see the dentist and my OBGYN once a year. Here’s the situation: about six months ago, I broke out in tiny, fluid-filled blisters around my mouth area. Everything was red, swollen, stinging, and felt really tight. My primary doctor prescribed Virolex, assuming it was some kind of skin herpes. But after that, things just flared up even worse—it started peeling and stinging terribly. Then she gave me Belogent and Rojazol, which actually worked great and calmed everything down quickly. However, it has all come back again (going from perfectly clear skin to total chaos in just three days), but this time the previous meds aren't doing anything—if anything, it seems to be getting worse. First, the skin turns red, then a colony of tiny surface blisters appears (about the size of a pinhead), and then they burst. They never turn white or can be squeezed out; instead, a clear liquid just leaks out, leaving the area slightly swollen—kind of like a nettle sting—but still red, and eventually it starts peeling a bit.
My doctor referred me to Siget Dermatology, but their next available appointment isn't until late May, so they told me to head to the emergency room at Vinogradski. But when I got there, they wouldn't see me, saying I had to be seen at Siget instead. To make matters worse, my doctor put "Acne" as the diagnosis on my referral, which obviously doesn't qualify as an emergency—and honestly, this has nothing to do with acne.
For context, I don't have PCOS, stomach issues, dental problems, tonsil issues, acne, or any known allergies. I'm 37 years old.
Does anyone have any advice? Thanks sooooo much in advance!

I suggest heading over to the salad bar; they actually take walk-ins at the ER too, you just have to hang out for an hour or two.

Ophthalmologist in San Francisco

I’m looking for some solid recommendations for a good ophthalmologist here in San Francisco. I've been pretty nearsighted for quite a few years now, and for the last seven, I've been relying on soft contact lenses (my current prescription is OD -3.25 -0.75 CYL 180° & OS -3.5 -0.75 CYL 180°). Honestly, I’d rather avoid those specialized contact lens clinics if possible; I’ve been there before and it felt like such a drag—I should have made my exit from those places ages ago. Even Dr. Grgić would likely suggest looking elsewhere.

Has anyone actually seen the dermatologist Branka Jozić-Rogić? I’m reading that she’s great, but I want some real-deal feedback from someone who's been there... Apparently, her office is over in Siget.

kat Filipović-Ljubičić—anyone know what she's like? I need to see her, but I really don't want to regret it..

I'm dealing with early gum disease. I'm only 20, and my bone is already receding everywhere, even though my teeth look fine—just signs of gum recession. My teeth are actually healthy, except for two with fillings.
Does anyone know if there are any discounts on exams or periodontal treatment since I have insurance through my university? Also, does anyone know what periodontal procedures cost in Indianapolis—like bone grafts and stuff? Are they cheaper with insurance, or does it not cover that kind of thing?

Thanks.

Neurologist in Washington, D.C.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a private neurologist here in Washington, D.C.? It’s regarding some head issues for someone I know. It’s really important that they have enough time to actually sit down, go through all her previous test results, and figure out a real plan for what comes next.

Has anyone here had experience with a neurologist at the Intel clinic in Washington, D.C.? It's located over in the vlaški area. Or, if you have any other great private neurologists you could recommend, please let me know. I don't mind if you want to send a private message.

Thanks so much in advance.

Has anyone here actually been to the ABR Neurology Clinic or dealt with Dr. Petelin? She’s a neurologist, and I think she also practices over at Rebro. I was just browsing through their website, and I'm wondering if anyone has firsthand experience there... specifically regarding what the costs look like for consultations or neurological testing? Maybe you could send me a private message if you know. Or, if you have any other recommendations for a good neurologist, I'd really appreciate that too.

Not sure what the protocol is in Washington, D.C., but at the medical center here, they won't even think about discharging you until they run a full battery of baseline tests. I don't have the exact checklist in front of me, but it usually covers the essentials.
-thyroid hormones
-chest X-ray
-imaging for the abdomen and neck soft tissue
-HBV, HCV, HIV, EBV, CMV, Adeno, Influenza A and B
-liver enzymes
-globulin levels (if globulin is high or spiking over a month, they'll dig deeper into things like autoimmune issues, tumor markers, etc.)
-and finally, they run Coxsackie

And if none of that hits, they just slap you with a diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome or some vague "unspecified subfebrile state."

Try to push your doctors in this direction.🙂

Does anyone know a decent dermatologist who actually sees patients in a reasonable timeframe? I’ve got a referral for a mole check, but the wait times at the hospital in Washington, D.C. are absolutely insane—I'm already booked out until next year.

I don't have a specific name to throw your way, but I think there's an outreach program coming up soon (or maybe it's already happening?) that offers free skin screenings. It might be worth checking out! Getting a second opinion never hurts, and you might even get a great recommendation while you're there.

On another note, I'm actually looking for an ENT specialist who has experience with nasal valve reconstruction surgery. If anyone knows a pro in that field, please let me know! 👍

I think they were offering free mole screenings over at the Leptir Clinic. They actually ran an ad for it in the Washington, D.C. News. If I recall correctly, they might have moved locations recently—I believe they're now on Broadway near Črnomerec.

Hi everyone,

I have an appointment scheduled with Prof. Radman at Rebro because I've been dealing with some swollen lymph nodes in my neck. Has anyone here seen him before? What’s his bedside manner like?

Thanks

hey, Dr. Radman is a solid doctor, just like the rest of the hematology crew over at Mount Sinai. You're in good hands 🙂
