Here’s how it goes down: The doctor is gonna start with your history—basically grilling you on when things started, any past health issues, specific symptoms, meds you're on, etc. They need the full picture. After that, it's a physical exam. They'll feel for nodes, not just in your neck but under your arms and in your groin too, poke at your stomach, listen to your heart and lungs... I doubt they'll order an ultrasound right off the bat. If they think it's necessary, they'll prescribe more tests after the initial exam.

I am looking for an exceptionally skilled neurosurgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. This is urgent. Hitnooooo!

Check out the Mayo Clinic on Selska—if you're near the downtown area, that's your best bet.

Since I'm moving to Washington, D.C., I'm on the hunt for a solid primary care doctor around the downtown area.
Also, quick question: if I see a doctor who isn't my regular GP—like a private specialist or just someone I walk into because of an emergency—can they actually write me a doctor's note for sick leave? My actual doctor is stuck in a different city right now.
