brightpilot6 said:How are you supposed to deal with a group that treats the word "vulgar" like a personal assault? You can't. There's really no way to win.

The only thing left to do is keep a record of those who have made themselves notorious. Paul Martinez73, Charles Roberts33, Justin James10, and Noah Roberts46. While most of them don't particularly surprise me, there is one among them that truly leaves me wondering. ☕

Oops, my bad—looks like we've officially made the list. 😢

😂

I’m curious—what exactly did you decide was an "attack" in my argument that prompted you to build this whole defense around it? 🤔 Your entire tone is hyper-defensive. The moment anyone disagrees with you—not just here, but in basically every single thread you've ever touched—you snap.

Regardless of how the debate is going, it’s never enough for you if the other person is simply wrong. They have to be stupid, brainwashed, uninformed, corrupt, or malicious too. You refuse to even consider why someone might see things differently. But hey, you're certainly not the only over-sensitive person on this board.

Look, since you somehow managed to misread my words as "low-class American provincialism" and proceeded to build an entire tower of resentment based on the idea that I was labeling you as backward or unrefined, it really wasn't that difficult to deduce exactly where things went sideways.

Am I being too aggressive? My apologies, snowflakes; I’ll be sure to tread more lightly from here on out. Though, critics might argue that it’s hardly surprising someone comes across as overbearing when their interlocutor starts hallucinating insults and attacks that simply aren't there.

You’ve been spending far too much time on Prem lately; it seems you're slowly adopting their limp, colorless way of speaking. ☕

You’re doing exactly what you accuse me of doing—attributing all sorts of motives to me that have absolutely nothing to do with the actual debate, all based on your own delusion that I labeled everyone from the "West" as primitive. It’s either this, or it's something else entirely.

And wasn't I, if anything, quite explicit in what I wrote?

brightpilot6 said:At the end of the day, everything really boils down to the individual—their upbringing and their level of social intelligence. Someone who constantly irritates everyone else through sheer clumsiness, shouting in public spaces, littering, letting their kids run wild, or parking illegally is likely going to treat their dog with that same lack of consideration. They won't keep it on a leash, they'll tolerate its unruly behavior or let it crowd strangers, and they won't bother buying decent food for it. Dog owners who fall into this category of inconsiderate people aren't any worse than reckless drivers or negligent parents.

It’s simply another symptom of the ongoing decay of our established social norms.

I can see most of the arguments, though I must admit I don't quite grasp why so many of you find the presence of a dog in a dining area to be such a hygienic catastrophe. It isn't exactly licking your steak, is it? Honestly, a waiter exhaling onto your food while carrying it to the table presents a far greater health risk. But, whatever.

At no point have I suggested to anyone that they are being dim-witted, narrow-minded, uninformed, or morally corrupt simply because they don't want a dog in a restaurant, or because they have certain grievances regarding the behavior of some rather ill-mannered pet owners.

But you’ve already decided that’s who I am, haven't you? You’ve locked that idea in your head, effectively confirming your own bias, so you can just go ahead and deal with him however you like.

And along the way, I suppose I’ve become the most hardcore debater on this forum—fitting perfectly into the stereotypical image of a corrupt, dim-witted leftist (what kind of logic is 🙏 anyway?) who is immediately and pejoratively labeled as progressive, liberal, a supporter of every niche social cause, and a fan of the 🤣
vegan lifestyle.

And finally—the point of that ironic post which seems to have upset you so much wasn't to call you a primitive; it was simply my wonder at why an average American (which is basically what we all are here on Offside Chat) would be so bothered by this specific, relatively minor issue. Out of all the possible and widespread displays of malice and rudeness one might encounter in our country, why does this particular thing—people with dogs in general, and especially dogs in restaurants—trigger such a reaction? I don't recall any other topic sparking such intense rants from so many different people. Selfish drivers, cyclists, e-scooter riders, pedestrians, loudmouths in public spaces, thieves, cheaters, liars, annoying neighbors... you name it. Nothing else has ever managed to pull together such a diverse yet unified coalition of outrage. There you have it. Whatever.

So, user Charles Roberts33 mentioned how those e-bike riders are getting on his nerves, so I guess we'll have a little debate about that...
Besides, I’m constantly being lectured by these EV owners who buy a car and suddenly decide they’re the moral authorities on why every other vehicle is basically a rolling pollutant. They act like they have a divine right to plug their cables in everywhere for free, just because companies like Tesla offer them complimentary charging...

Then you’ve got someone like Lola pulling into the garage, plugging into the shared outlet to charge up on everyone else's dime, and then having the audacity to protest when the cable gets unplugged. They claim, "Oh, I get free charging everywhere, I'm just being eco-friendly," while meanwhile, all our garage outlets are blocked up, so now I can't even vacuum my own car...

I am reading through this now, and I find myself wondering what these people are talking about regarding supposed "major problems" and their fear of dogs.🤦

It is truly unbelievable how much of a spineless nation we have become.🤦

Just slap them if you have to, our good colleague ZZ. If necessary, my brother and I will stand right there beside you on the front lines of Madrid, defending good, quality purebred dogs and, ultimately, the one and only eternal America.☕

It’s a breeze for the Cuke crowd at restaurants. I saw this guy walk in with his wife and three kids and just tell the manager straight up to clear all the alcohol and pork off the tables because it clashes with his religious beliefs
Let's go Cuke style: hit the restaurant, but put the pork on the curb
Honestly, these progressives absolutely blow my mind

That’s essentially where we’ve landed, my friend; once the formidable leader Charles Roberts33, I find myself sitting alone in the dim light of my room, picking at half a rotisserie chicken from Walmart, while all those self-proclaimed liberals and progressives flock to his favorite local bistro—a place they’ve recently pressured into becoming pet-friendly through some sort of Masonic maneuvering.

It’s honestly pretty idiotic that we’re tearing each other apart at this level just because of some debate over dogs in restaurants.

I mean, sure, "vulgar" is just a Latin term, but let’s be real—you can't exactly use it as a compliment. Nobody is ever going to use a phrase like "typical American commoner" in a positive light. Trying to hide behind semantics here is just plain stupid.
Everyone knows exactly what you're implying when you label someone as just another typical guy from the suburbs combined with that "common man" label; I’ve never seen anyone use that description unless they were trying to call someone a caveman, a primitive, or something equally insulting.
Anyway, it doesn't even matter.

I get that this whole thing started because certain cult-like types have specific views on dog lovers, but I honestly don't understand why anyone in this thread felt personally attacked when the criticism was meant to be general. And honestly, it’s not like those zealots don't share plenty of other annoying traits besides just bringing their dogs into a restaurant.

The defining trait of a fanatic isn't just one single belief; it's their absolute, stubborn inability to take any kind of criticism.

A true fanatic will walk a dog on a ten-foot leash, or no leash at all, in places where it’s completely inappropriate, then turn around and attack anyone else because they're annoyed by the constant barking of poorly trained pets, or yell at kids for setting off a few firecrackers once a year, all while having brought these animals into a crowded urban environment in the first place.

Who actually believed that Charles Roberts33's insults would just slide by without someone pushing back? They were sorely mistaken ☕

The dog was absolutely livid; perhaps they went and canceled his reservation at the restaurant.

The mob mobilized instantly, launching these first attacks that feel borderline like terrorism. Who on earth is going to secure our borders against illegal immigrants now that our progressive elite will be too busy sipping cocktails at high-end restaurants with their groomed poodles? 🙄

Back in the Midwest again 🤣

Total freak accident 😬

Man, if you pulled the same stunt at a rally in Times Square, there’d be protests all over the place and the EU would be breathing down our necks with some massive condemnation 🤣

There was a total spectacle happening in both Key West and Sopot too, so maybe your notifications just didn't hit your phone in time? 🤷

It’s honestly pretty depressing how people use tragedies just to push these kinds of views.
