Probably the same people paying to fix up museums, hospitals, theaters, the Capitol, and all that... 🤷
Basically, that 87% of Catholics and the other 13% here in America. ☕

A split between the City, the Department of Culture, and the Church...

Does anyone have a rough idea of how much air traffic actually tanked during the pandemic? Personally, I’ve noticed hardly any planes in the sky over the last few days—even though if you look at this real-time map, it doesn't exactly look empty:

Not that I really have any clue what things looked like normally before all this 🤔--it's hard to judge without a baseline, I guess.

I'm not sure if it's just how things work now or if airports have simply adjusted, but you see a lot of empty flights. Certain airlines have to maintain a specific number of flights from certain airports, so they run those empty routes just to hold onto their slots.

Here’s a breakdown of how that works:

I’d say we’re looking at a drop of roughly 90 to 95%. I actually work out here at the airport, and since all this madness started, most days there's basically just one single arrival per day.

Thx Derrick. Well, that’s just how things work here—I can tell because I’ve spotted one plane in two days—but what I’m actually curious about is the US and Western Europe.

Looking at this map, you can clearly see there are flights running, but is this maybe only 20% of the total flight volume we used to see? Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue.

How can I tell the difference between cargo flights and passenger flights around here?

No clue?
Honestly, it doesn't even matter—I was just wondering if anyone happened to have some actual data on how much commercial air travel has actually dropped

It is perhaps a bit late in the evening, but I suppose I could ask my neighbor, who actually has internet access, first thing tomorrow morning.

What specifically are you looking to find out? Are you curious about the daily flight frequency, or rather how many were actually grounded?

Everything is laid out right here in pretty great detail:

And I’ve included what you were looking for at the bottom—check out the FlightRadar views from February 29th and March 29th. You can see the massive difference in density with the naked eye immediately!

What kind of neighbor are we talking about if you can't just give them a ring at midnight? 🙂

Thx Derrick 👍

This is a massive hit to business, honestly. 🙏

I don't live in Washington, D.C., but I know that Cathedral has been under renovation since the first time I heard about it.

I remember seeing scaffolding on those towers 15 or 20 years ago, man.

So the Cathedral belongs to the City of Washington, D.C.?

Which means, if you crunch the numbers, it's 4/5 government, 1/5 owner.

I assume this kind of split will apply to other private properties too. ☕
