So, how much RAM are you actually running at home these days? You've got that 2gb ST, 2gb Ballistix, 2gb Dominator, and I'm betting there's probably a few more gigs of Kingmax tucked away somewhere too.

I gave some ST to a buddy, sold off my Dominatore yesterday as part of an HTPC build, gifted some Kingmax to my brother-in-law, handed over 1GB of DDR to my girlfriend, just had those 2GB Ballistix arrive yesterday, and I've actually had the OCZ 2 x2GBje sitting in my rig for quite a while now...

I have to say, though, memory really is the most inconsequential component in any computer system... I mean, honestly, if someone claims they can actually tell the difference between Kingmax and Crucial, they clearly have way too much free time on their hands...😁

They’ve always said it’s better to have more than it is to be fast 😁

I mean, that's true, but honestly, you really want both.😁

Still nothing on my end.😕🤷

Regarding my Sempron, I guess it could hit 2.2GHz, but I probably won't bother. 2.0GHz is enough for basic stuff... though if I need to convert a video or something, I can easily bump it up in Windows using EasyTuna

Come on, let someone admit it... though I guess it's just fun for people to debate... I mean, as far as I'm concerned...🙂

It’s honestly pretty much the same deal as when people obsess over hard drives, getting into those endless, pointless debates about HD tach results when you can't even see the difference with your own eyes...

And don't even get me started on LCD monitors, like those Samsung LCD-i or various other panels out there... nobody is actually going to notice the difference between a Samsung panel and a CMO panel, yet everyone acts like an expert because they ran some tests using gear worth several thousand dollars...

There are so many parallels between RAM speed and IQ, man, maybe I'm just being thick... but hey, I just wanted to look at my monitor and see "1200MHz+" staring back at me... the hardware isn't actually bigger, it's just the ego... 👍

I can adjust the CPU clock ratio multiplier—or something along those lines—directly on the motherboard, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything at all...
It’s a bit strange; I can change the multiplier, yet the frequency just won't budge...
The setup uses a Pentium 4 with a Willamette core...

Also, I was wondering if it's possible that the motherboard is responsible for all these voltage issues—since they seem way too low—causing my PC to shut down? I've already double-checked the power supply, and it provides full voltage when tested with a similar configuration.

Does anyone actually know how to overclock my graphics card, a Club3D ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 512MB? I've heard people talking about using atitool, but seriously, can someone please walk me through it with some kind of picture guide or just explain what the hell I actually need to do...

If you're looking for my personal take, I can't recommend RivaTuner enough!

Is the Gigabyte MA770-DS3 actually any good if I want to push some overclocking? I've been scouring the web for reviews on this board, but I can't seem to find anything concrete or helpful.

I suppose you should download ATI Tray Tools—you'll need to have the Catalyst drivers installed first—and then you can just right-click that little red icon in your system tray, go to hardware, and select overclocking... from there, you can just bump up the clock speeds and that's basically it; just hit apply, and you're good to go. I guess you'll just have to test it out in-game and then keep tweaking the speeds if needed.

So, which processor are you planning on pairing with it?

I’d probably go with the X2 5000+ BE. I actually took a quick look at PCMag earlier and saw some really solid reviews regarding the MA770-DS3 paired with this specific CPU; apparently, it's a great motherboard for overclocking and all that.

So, just to clarify, the Black Edition can be overclocked simply by increasing the multiplier; it actually doesn't depend on the motherboard at all.

Is there any more headroom left for overclocking? I suspect you might be able to push it further with some superior cooling, but regardless, this motherboard seems like a solid platform for overclocking.

edit: Since the multiplier is unlocked, shouldn't there be room to crank up the CPU clock even higher? Sorry if I sound like a total newbie here...
