Still, I worry anyone with fair skin might end up with a nasty burn if they just slather on olive oil without any prior preparation.

I always make sure to hit the coast before noon👍

At the beach twice a day—once around 9 to 11 AM and again in the late afternoon near 5 PM. It’s just not worth the risk being out there at 1 PM... I can't stay under the sun much longer than two hours a day anyway...

I hit the beach again today. The waves were a bit bigger than usual, which wore me out pretty fast—ended up taking a nap for about an hour. I’ve already posted some stuff about my tan, too. Honestly, I can't stand this pale, washed-out look; there's just zero color. My routine is a bit different from the typical sunbather; I spend way more time in the water than just lying on a towel. It definitely beats just sitting around. I'll post some progress photos soon.

Honestly, I’m starting to look like some guy from Latin America. I’m sick of this pale, sickly tan... it just doesn't look right. I spend forever in the water, just constantly going in and out, swimming instead of just sitting around tanning. It definitely feels better... I'll post some progress photos soon...

It’s definitely better to look Latino than to deal with psoriasis. Between the chemo and not having access to the beach, even when it's hot as hell and you need to wear short sleeves, it's a struggle. Every morning before work, I waste half an hour just trying to camouflage my elbows so people don't keep asking me what's wrong. You're lucky to have the ocean and the sun right now. Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm still lurking and following along. Greetings to the whole forum...

We're all stuck in short sleeves, but I end up wasting like thirty minutes every morning before work just trying to camouflage my elbows so I don't have to deal with everyone constantly asking, "Hey, what's that?" Must be nice for you, having the ocean and sunshine right there. Anyway, hi everyone, it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm still lurking and reading.

Gabby, don't sweat it, you aren't alone in this. I've got the coast relatively close by too, though at this point, I basically just watch the waves on TV. As for the whole "camouflage" thing during this heatwave? Forget it. I'm not even trying to hide my face, let alone my elbows. If someone doesn't like what they see, they can just look away—I'm done answering questions about it.
Cheers!

Just hang in there. ALMOST THERE.

Why is everyone getting so worked up about having psoriasis? It shouldn't stop you from hitting the beach and soaking up the sun like everyone else. Look, I get it, but everyone’s got something going on. I’m heading out to swim first thing after the weekend. Trust me, those "perfect" people around you aren't all healthy either—everyone’s carrying some hidden medical issue under their skin.
I usually just head to the middle of the beach where the nudists hang out. That's not the "official" area, but if they can do their thing, why can't I? And honestly, why would they care about me? I can dress modestly or just enjoy the water and swim like anyone else.
There's room for everybody at the beach, so don't let insecurities win.
Pro tip: Get there early in the morning before the crowds show up. They'll glance your way while they're getting ready, then everyone just goes about their day.

I feel the exact same way about my insecurities; there’s an intense discomfort that comes with feeling like every single person on the beach is staring at you. Those constant eyes are incredibly intrusive. My physical changes have become more pronounced compared to last summer, which is why I’m desperately searching for a secluded spot on the coast where I can soak up the sun without being the center of attention. To be honest, I still haven't fully integrated this illness into my identity, and the shame is so pervasive that I even find myself hesitating during a simple handshake.

The changes have spread out more since last summer, so I'm looking for a spot where I can tan without being a spectacle. I still haven't fully accepted this illness as part of who I am. Honestly, I feel embarrassed even when I have to shake someone's hand.

Stop obsessing over how you look. There are much bigger things in life that people actually have reason to be ashamed of.

Every major news outlet in the country reported today that two famous models, Naomi Campbell and Kate is a lesbian, are involved in prostitution, drugs, and orgies.

Do you really think you need to feel more shame than they do?

Honestly, whenever someone asks me about it, I just tell them straight up—I’m currently running a deficit... and then I ask them to leave me alone. 😁

Man, about two years ago I had this nasty allergic reaction on my hand, and I was convinced it was some kind of early sign of AIDS. 😬

Good afternoon.
I’ve had enough of this drama, so I'm jumping in.
I've been following Michael Ramos3 from the start.
It’s been obvious to me for a long time that OKTO, copperviper102, silentheron25, Michael Ramos3, and maybe a few others,
are all the SAME PERSON!!!
Figure it out yourselves.
I’m staying quiet because people will use any excuse to talk, and I don't lose sleep over fools.
"I can't forgive children!"
I've been on this forum under a different handle for ages...
If you want more info, feel free to ask, though I think I've said enough.

jadesailor14, I think it's time you stepped in. This nonsense needs to stop; having to read this crap is practically a crime against my sanity. It honestly pisses me off when someone tries to label me or compare me to someone else without actually knowing who I am. They're just talking nonsense to try and sound smart.
Personally, I prefer hitting the beach when it's empty—driving out to some secluded spot where there isn't a soul around. If it's peak season and the beaches are packed, I stay home; I'm not looking to get into a fight or deal with the headache. I get why people have to pay attention to this stuff since it's totally out of line. I don't usually go looking for flaws in others, but here we are. Honestly, let's just cut out the constant bickering. Michael Ramos3, everyone knows what your remedy is for; people can choose to use it or not, so just quit the noise. We should just focus on how well it works. The less finger-pointing, the better. 👍 And jadesailor14, don't forget to give a piece of your mind to that woman being so toxic toward me.

No way, 😁

There have been quite a few clones popping up on this thread, so I totally get why people are skeptical.
All I can say is that every one of those users basically has a second account—how do you say it in American slang? A "burner" account? 😬
Plus, they all try so hard to change up their writing style just to throw me off, but honestly, I'm actually pretty good at spotting clones when I see them!

Hey, it's me again. Just posting some photos showing how my son's elbow situation is looking—it’s actually getting better. Like, it cleared up about 90% in just seven days. I'm starting to think this isn't even psoriasis, because it keeps doing this every single time. The worst part? We went through the whole hassle of getting a biopsy, and today the doctor basically told me there's no point anymore since the rash is already gone.😕

Robert Clark2 said:Why are you all stressing so much about having psoriasis and not being able to go swimming or sunbathe like everyone else? Look, I get it, but everyone’s dealing with something. I’m hitting the beach for my first swim right after this weekend. Besides, the people around you aren't exactly perfect either—everyone’s hiding some kind of health issue under their towel.
I usually just head to the halfway point of the beach where the naturists hang out—it's not the main public stretch—so when they can be out there, why shouldn't I just dress decently and enjoy the water too? It's not like they should be staring at me anyway.
There’s room for everyone on the beach, so let's not get all insecure about it.
Just get to the beach early in the morning before they show up. They'll glance at you while they're getting undressed, and then it's every man for himself.

You totally misunderstood me—I don't avoid the ocean because of the psoriasis, I just haven't made it out there yet for other reasons. When I finally do go, I don't hide from people or make my family feel awkward about how I'm feeling. But honestly? It does matter to me. Last summer, during my very first trip to the coast, I was literally crying behind my sunglasses so nobody would notice. Then I wrapped myself in a massive towel and shuffled toward the water. As soon as I stepped in, my husband had to come over and brush the sand off me, so I ended up having to trek past all those umbrellas. Later on, though, I managed to "walk" around without any issues.
It’s the same story every single year—that very first trip is always the hardest part. It’s the same deal with my wardrobe, too; at the start of the season, I struggle to transition into short sleeves or shorts, but once I get past that initial hump, I stop caring about what people are looking at.
Happy tanning!

It’s weird seeing this flare up on my kid's elbow and then just coming right back so quickly. Maybe it’s a variation or some other type of psoriasis. Honestly, I just want him to get better. As for me, I’m dealing with mild patches on my arms, my back, and my legs too. My two oldest kids have it on their faces as well—it’s heartbreaking to see. I just wish they could move past those elementary school years and all that misery. The only things still acting up for me are my eyebrows and ears; they get itchy and flake quite a bit.

Hey everyone! It’s me again, and I swear I am the real deal and not some "clone" or whatever (honestly, I'm pretty glad jadesailor14 gave me the thumbs up so I don't have to write a whole damn novel explaining that I'm just a regular guy from Chicago who only knows Michael Ramos3 through this forum). Anyway, enough with the nonsense, here is where things stand right now. I picked up another tub of the ointment and had a little chat with Michael Ramos3's dad, and it turns out certain spots are basically finished with the treatment🙏. I haven't been applying it to that patch above my forehead or around my eye area—you know, the brow—for about two days now. According to him, I probably shouldn't even be messing with my ears anymore, but since I've got a few more days left on my beach vacation, I figured why not? By his logic, my whole head should be done since the redness is gone, but I'm still seeing this weird discoloration on those two patches by my ears, so I'm going to keep at it for a bit longer (I mean, I've already got the cream on hand...🙂). My chest is also pretty much clear, but the skin tone looks slightly off compared to normal, so I'll keep treating it... the lower part is still a little red... like, a very faint red, but you can definitely see it... It's kind of hard for me to stop using the ointment on the areas his dad recommended because they originally told me twenty days, and I've only just hit day 22... I really don't want the symptoms to flare back up just because I got impatient...😁. Basically, I think in a few days I'll probably stop applying it to my head entirely, and probably my chest too. I'll just stick to this spot down below. As for that patch above my forehead that I haven't touched in two days, nothing has flared back up yet (obviously it would be way too early to tell, but I'm putting it out there anyway). So, that's the update from me... catch you all later

copperviper102, I’m seriously happy to see those results you're getting. It makes me wonder, though—did you ever have flare-ups in other spots that have since calmed down? And how many years has this whole psoriasis thing been going on for you?

Michael Ramos3, quick question for you: can this ointment be used in stages? Like, is it okay if I treat one area first and then move on to different spots later on?

Look, psoriasis is a chronic, recurring beast. You might use a specific treatment and see it clear up perfectly, but then—boom—it decides to show up again in that exact same spot, or even worse, spread to a totally different area. It’s completely unpredictable.
Just my two cents based on what I've seen.

I don't hang out here all that much, so I was wondering if anyone has actually tried that cream from Mexico that Brexy was talking about? Not sure if I should pull the trigger on it or not...

Best,

Yeah, you can definitely use it in stages, but you're just wasting time. You should apply it to all affected areas at once.

To be clear, the answer is YES.

We only suggest applying it in stages if there's a bad reaction (intense itching right away, redness, burning), but I'll note that you can just put it on one spot, say on your leg. Doing that will only affect that specific spot and nothing else.
I remember a friend back in 2001 who intentionally left one small patch, about the size of a coin, on his leg. That patch is still exactly the same today—no flare-ups or anything.
The rest of his skin has stayed completely clear to this day.
Nothing else affects the ointment therapy (other treatments, meds, sun exposure, other creams, tanning beds, diet, etc.), and the ointment won't mess with any other procedure you've already started.

God bless,

Best,
