Timothy Wood38 said:Is anyone here actually taking Concert, and if so, what kind of dosage are we talking about? I’m really curious to hear how it hits. Also, does anyone know if it's covered by major US insurance providers? Does it actually sharpen focus and give you that energy boost? I mean, at the end of the day, it is a psychostimulant, after all. I would honestly love to hear some real-world experiences from people using Concert.

You will likely find more information regarding Concert / Ritalin on the ADHD thread.

Mark Nelson said:So, officially, I've been on 200mg XR of Seroquel since late July this year. Before that, I was on Loquen for just under a month—but honestly, that's basically the same thing, 100mg. I take it right before bed, pretty late at night.

I'm not even sure if these are actual side effects. This issue has been bugging me for ages, I guess. I've just become more aware of it over the years. Even though it's always been suppressed, it's becoming a much bigger problem now, so I'm wondering if the meds are making it worse. I wouldn't change anything on my own, obviously. I'd wait to talk to my doctor first.

As for me, I take 25 mg of Seroquel in the morning, 25 mg in the afternoon, and then 100 mg at night.
The afternoon dose kind of makes me feel floaty... just a little drowsy. Not a total disaster, but still.
Anyway, I've been eating like a termite and haven't stepped on a scale in ages. Honestly, I'm too scared to even look at one.🙂 I've been snacking on sweets constantly and barely moving at all. It's bad.

Starting a diet this week. My jacket is literally bursting at the seams. I need to buy bigger clothes. I already had to grab two pairs of pants because nothing else fits. Ugh, what a nightmare!

I guess I should start by saying that everything people think they know about this is probably wrong. It’s just one of those things, you know? I mean, maybe I'm being too cynical, but I've seen enough to be skeptical. People love to talk about it like it's some settled issue, but honestly, it feels more like we're all just guessing. It's messy. Life is messy. Anyway, that's just my two cents. Don't hold me to it.
Kenneth Scott41 said:Personally, back when I was taking Seroquel, I felt quite alright, and I actually found the medication to be quite helpful.🙂

He helped me out during those first stages of intense depression—which, honestly, hasn't really gone away—but regarding what I’m dealing with now... well, I don't necessarily blame Seroquel for it. I just can't help but wonder if it's making things worse. It feels like I can't study, I can't follow a lecture, and I definitely can't process things the way other 18-year-olds my age do. Ideas just won't come to me. I can't even form a coherent thought, let alone a complex one. I struggle with the most basic, everyday stuff. It's almost like my mind is empty; that whole stream of consciousness thing? It just isn't working for me anymore. 😢

I honestly don’t even know where to start with this. I’ve started going to group therapy, but I just sit there. I don't participate at all because of the stuff I mentioned before. I feel like I have absolutely nothing to contribute. When someone else starts talking, I can't even find a way to respond or comment on what they're saying—nothing comes to mind, unlike everyone else in the room. It’s like my brain is just moving too slow to even follow the conversation. I have to manually process even the simplest things in my head, and frankly, I just don't have the energy or the mental bandwidth to deal with that right now. 😢
The years are just slipping through my fingers, and I’m still stuck in the exact same spot. Honestly? It scares the hell out of me.
My own brain is basically my biggest enemy at this point. It’s just constant chaos. I guess what I’m trying to ask is—is there actually anything out there that works better than Seroquel for this kind of mess?

Tried 36 mg of Concert today, but honestly? It felt like I just drank a glass of water. Not a single flicker of improved focus; it’s as if I didn't take anything at all. Since it’s in the same class as Adderall, I went in expecting it to actually help me buckle down and study. Now, Adderall is restricted over in Europe, but here in America, you see students abusing it left and right—supposedly to boost their concentration and crush their exams. I think I read somewhere that prices can swing from $5 a pill all the way up to $25 once finals week hits. Hard to remember exactly where I saw that... anyway, I guess I just set my expectations way too high with this Concert stuff.

What if you tried lowering the dose? You don't necessarily need to take 100mg

I'm already on 200 mg, which isn't even a massive dose... so I guess we aren't really talking about "lowering" anything here.

I'm in the exact same boat. I've been reduced to just two pairs of pants because I can't even get the buttons closed on anything else. I find myself constantly snacking on sweets, especially once evening rolls around. Every time I walk into a grocery store, I feel an almost magnetic pull toward the candy aisles.

Are you on Lexapro too?
Feels like my appetite spiked just as much—and yeah, the late-night sugar binge is real.
Honestly, I can't tell if it's just PMS or what, but some days I am hungry literally every single hour.
If I don't get this under control, I'm gonna be a disaster... I know for a fact I'm pushing well over 175 lbs now.🙂

Yes, I am taking Lexapro, though the sugar cravings didn't stem from that; rather, it was the antipsychotic they prescribed me for depression and insomnia.
I've put on about 15 pounds.🙂🙂

Once that hunger hits, there is zero self-control. And when the sugar cravings kick in? It's game over. I have to eat it.
Ugh, I am never going to lose the weight.

Well, honey, I was thin, sure, but at least I actually had a shape back then.
Those extra fifteen pounds have decided to settle right around my waist, leaving me looking less like a person and more like a pregnant roadrunner—you know, that cartoon bird. 😁

I find myself in the exact same position. If I don't satisfy a craving for something sweet, I actually start to feel physically shaky. It is an endless cycle of gummy candies, chocolate, ice cream, pastries... there is truly no end to it.

Sweetie, just look on the bright side—you're still... a roadrunner...http://www.evolve9.com/blog/wp-conte...roadrunner.jpg

driftinggull21 said:For insomnia: Circadin (though it's pricey right now) or Seroquel, an antipsychotic.

Most people seem fine with Diazepam, which personally does nothing for me.🙂
However, I once took 15 mg of Oxazepam, and nothing could have woken me up. I was out cold.🙂

That is nothing!

I once took 30.

Has anyone else come across this particular joke regarding body weight?

"Mommy, my classmates at school are teasing me because I'm overweight!"

"Oh, don't listen to them, sweetheart! Now, let's eat. I've crushed up some Oreos in your bathtub for you. There's a shovel waiting right behind the door."

Timothy Wood38 said:Thanks, fadedbear92. That’s what I was thinking. I'll actually head over to the pharmacy today and see what the damage is going to be regarding the price.🙂

So you can just grab it at the pharmacy without a prescription?
Is it safe to take alongside Seroquel?

I was wondering, could Xanax potentially be used to help with Parkinson's disease?
(My hands shake so much that I can't even pick up a coffee mug with just one hand; I have to use both, otherwise I’d probably end up spilling the whole thing everywhere.)
