My head is absolutely killing me today—it's just pounding. I guess maybe Advil is okay? I don't have the packaging handy since I tossed the instructions...

Tylenol is probably your best bet.

Most of our headaches usually stem from anxiety or that kind of stuff, so I just pop an Xanax

It might just be the tension—I definitely felt it the day before yesterday... Once these patterns start repeating, I know I’m hitting a breaking point, and this time was no exception.

I finally managed to get my psychiatrist to prescribe it—had to fight tooth and nail because Zyprexa, Everbio, Risperdal, and Seroquel made me pack on over 90 pounds.
So far, I haven't noticed any side effects other than some mild drowsiness (which I don't even really feel), though apparently, people with heart conditions should stay away from it.
It doesn't cause weight gain at all; in fact, it actually kills my appetite so much that I’ve already dropped 11 pounds in just seven days. I'm still taking Zeldox 120 mg on the side.

I'm on Zeldox myself, and it seems to work quite well.

wiredmason56 said:So, I’m checking in with some pretty bad news regarding Tegretol. The very first night I took it, everything seemed fine at first—it actually relaxed me quite a bit and I drifted off instantly. But then came the nightmares. They were absolutely revolting. Tuesday was the only night I slept decently; the rest of the week has been a total disaster. But tonight? Tonight was a straight-up horror movie. I got up to grab some water, went back to bed, and suddenly there was this ringing in my left ear, followed by this terrifying rumbling, like an earthquake was hitting the house. I was seeing visions of pure catastrophe right in front of my eyes, and it felt like the whole room was shaking. I spent half an hour just frozen and rigid in bed after I popped a Xanax just to try and pull myself together. My heart was racing a mile a minute. The worst part is that I was fully conscious through all of it. I’ve had panic attacks before, but this was on a completely different level of terrifying.😲 Well, now everyone is telling me to just toss the Tegretol in the trash immediately, and honestly, that’s what I’m going to do. I don't want to scare anyone, though—maybe it's just me, but I doubt it's everyone's experience. Anyway, I skipped it tonight because of the insomnia, and look what happened anyway. Any advice is welcome.

I was only on Tegretol for a week. It made me feel incredibly nauseous and kept making me want to throw up. Gross!

Personally, I handled it just fine—it really goes to show how much everyone reacts differently to these things, doesn't it?

Honestly, the weirdest part for me was that it actually helped me relax during that first night, and I finally got some decent sleep. But then, every single night after that, things just got weirder. Like, the dreams were absolutely nightmare fuel. And that one night when I skipped my dose? Ugh, just awful. 😲 Now I’m honestly sitting here wondering if I should even bother staying on it or not.🙂

You should definitely talk to the doctor who prescribed this—just lay everything out for them and tell them exactly what you've been going through.

My psychiatrist actually gave me one 200mg pill to take before bed to act as a mood stabilizer. I’m planning on telling them absolutely everything at my next check-up, but that isn't for another month. I think I'll head over to see my primary care doctor tomorrow instead and just ask. I'm genuinely curious what they'll say—when they saw the psych med on the list, they just kind of commented that Tegretol is a solid choice. Honestly, though, maybe it wasn't even the Tegretol causing issues. All I know is that I won't be forgetting that night anytime soon, or that pure terror I felt.😢

Has anyone here actually experimented with taking Effexor XR specifically for migraine prevention purposes?

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have some advice for me? I was on Lexapro and Xanax for about two years before I got pregnant this summer and had to quit everything. Honestly, getting through the pregnancy was a total roller coaster. I gave birth exactly two weeks ago 🙂 and now the intrusive thoughts, derealization, and anxiety are absolutely crushing me—plus, I've hit this low point of mild depression.

My doctor put me back on my old meds. I started yesterday taking half a Lexapro and Xanax three times a day. Is it normal to deal with side effects even if I’ve taken this exact combo before? Right now, I feel okay, just a little nauseous.

Has anyone else gone through something like this?

Thanks a ton. If anyone has been in my shoes, please share your experience... it would mean the world to me.

Thanks so much

So, I started taking half of my 10 mg Alice dose this morning.
I’ve already had to run to the bathroom three times with diarrhea, and honestly, the dizziness is hitting me way harder than usual.
I'm assuming these are just the side effects kicking in.
Has anyone else dealt with Alice before?

Check the anxiety thread, Magdica—she started on Alice too, currently at a half tablet.

My own experiences with this medication have been quite positive. However, it can be quite harsh on the stomach for certain individuals, and you likely fall into that category. If you don't feel any improvement within a few days, wouldn't it be wise to see your doctor immediately to request an alternative?

Try dropping down to a quarter dose for four days—that was my doctor's suggestion, since she knows how sensitive I am—then on the fifth day, take a half. Do that for another four days, then bump up to three-quarters for four more days, and finally hit the full dose on the fifth day. It'll be fine. Honestly, I tell everyone that Elysia is a breeze compared to the side effects I got from Prozac. Just give it a shot; you'll see it works out, but half a pill was likely too much for your first day. Oh, I forgot to mention—I also dealt with dizziness for those first three days.

Faded, I've been at it for two full days now—making progress quite quickly, I think.🙂

My experience has been nothing but positive, 😁
even back when I remember... honestly, everything was a solid 5 out of 5, without any negative side effects at all.
