It always manages to knock me out. But if even that doesn't work for you, well... I remember this old antipsychotic called Prazina, I think it comes in a red 100mg pill. If you try that, I’d bet anything you’ll sleep like a baby, without fail.😉

Prazosin did absolutely nothing for me. It felt like swallowing a Tic Tac. Total bust. Zero stars, nothing happened.

Ever since I started taking Paxil, I haven’t been able to function at all, let alone sleep—I just exist in this constant state of brain fog.

And honestly, I don't get the whole "you're too young for this" attitude from doctors. Being sick isn't an age thing; we can't sleep, we're struggling, and we have every right to ask for actual insomnia medication that works.

I woke up five times last night. At this point, I'm not even going to bother trying. It’s worse than having a newborn...

Back when I was living on my own, I just took 10 mg of Ambien twice and a 0.5 Helex, and I was perfectly happy and actually rested every single day.

I swear, my environment is just draining the life out of me.

Yesterday, I was looking for work down in Miami (even though I'm currently stuck out in rural Ohio).

I'm guessing the lack of sunlight is triggering my anxiety and depression, especially on top of all the family drama...

Same here. I finally fell asleep at 2:00 AM only to be jolted awake again at 4:00 AM after taking 6 milligrams of Paxil. I feel like I could just pass out for three days straight since nobody is working right now. I don't even know how to describe it. My eyes hurt so much I feel like pulling them out, and don't even get me started on the dizziness—I'm probably going to stumble around and smash into everything. This is just inhumane.

I was taking Xanax at 2, 2, and 1 mg along with Paxil at 1, 0, and 0 mg.🙂

Anyway, Paxil is an antidepressant, but honestly, it works pretty well for sleep too.

That's news to me—it usually makes me feel wired—and most people deal with some pretty nasty side effects, but I've honestly never heard of anyone using it to sleep... aren't you thinking of Seroquel?🤷

Is he lecturing? Honestly, based on his own posts and how things look around here, I’d say the exact opposite.

I've been dealing with sleep issues since high school, honestly. Once I started on Paxil, I was out cold—sometimes sleeping like 14 hours straight. But then, there was this one week where I totally blanked on taking them. I spent the whole week waking up in the middle of the night, and that's when it finally clicked... I realized the only thing the meds were actually doing for me.
After I finally got off it, it took me about three months to get back to a decent sleep schedule. But even now, I still have those nights where I'm waking up seven times in a five-hour stretch. I never dealt with that kind of mess while I was on Paxil.

Personally, I find the effect of Cerson to be incredibly unpleasant; it feels as though I’ve downed four liters of black coffee all at once, leaving me completely wired. I suppose I have tried just about everything by scavenging my dad's medication stash—he takes various pills. Xanax works okay for me, though it leaves a bitter aftertaste, which is annoying. Mirtazapine feels far too weak for my needs, generally speaking. My absolute favorite used to be Norvasc, but I haven't seen any of that in ages... and I occasionally take some Paxil I get from my grandmother; it's decent enough, but the effectiveness seems to fade away during the night.

Yes, I remember that girl mentioning those hallucinations caused by Seroquel, haha. It's funny how negative she was about it. For me, I once crawled under the covers, and with just a little bit of light peeking through, I totally convinced myself I was in Wonderland—or perhaps riding horses or something equally pleasant. There have also been a few times where I couldn't actually read what I had typed on my computer, haha; it felt as if I had been typing for an eternity... though I haven't had any issues with spiders or anything like that.

The whole thing with the balloons wasn't even bad, until I tried jumping from my bed onto the bunk bed to reach them. I couldn't sit down for two weeks after that. 😳

Paxil knocks me out, so I’ve started taking it at night. When I was following the original prescription and taking it in the morning, I’d be fighting to stay awake all day—which, let's be honest, was a total disaster for my productivity at work. It’s funny because if you look at the side effects, they list both insomnia and drowsiness. Clearly, everyone reacts to this stuff differently. Even my psychiatrist was scratching her head, totally baffled by how much it was making me sleep.

I realize that, but I’m honestly at my wit's end right now. I was actually prescribed most of these medications by my doctor during one stretch, excluding the iron supplements and the Paxil... I ended up turning down the Lexapro because I told them it tasted too bitter, so they switched me over to Misar instead. I don't know how everyone else handles this social aspect, but I’m heading back to the clinic because I feel completely drained. I suppose we can figure out which other options might work later; I'll try to get those prescriptions sorted as soon as possible and then let you all know what they put me on...

Greetings to everyone here.
I have been using Q Pin for quite some time now, and frankly, it has always met my expectations perfectly. However, I’ve run into a bit of a conundrum recently. After finishing the supply I purchased back in June, I went out and picked up another round this December, only to find that the medication feels entirely different. I even went so far as to request the exact same lot number to ensure consistency, yet it simply doesn't seem to have the same effect on me as the previous batch did. Has anyone else encountered something similar? Regarding my tolerance levels, I still have a few stray pills left over from my previous supply; if I take those five older tablets before moving on to the new ones, the transition is absolutely miserable. To make matters more confusing, the price of the medication dropped by about five or six dollars over the last six months—could such a shift in pricing somehow indicate a change in the formula or manufacturing process? I would truly appreciate any insights you might have.

Alright, let's try this instead: is Rohypnol actually available here in the States? ☕

🙂

Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone. I guess I hope you all enjoy some peaceful sleep under the tree.

Just call your psychiatrist and ask them. Go see them.

Alright, let's try this: does Rohypnol even exist here in the States?

It does not.

I live in the Midwest as well. It comes through in your post, and I get the impression that you are constantly working. While you're at the office, you're working—and when you come home, I certainly hope you aren't "bringing" that job and all its baggage back into your house. People tend to do that quite often without even realizing it, inadvertently spreading their own agitation to everyone else in the family.
I suspect your core issue might just be stress.
I won't go into a full list of every ailment stress can trigger, but it really is the primary catalyst... the spark. A friend of mine here in town, a doctor who focuses heavily on psychotherapy, told me as much. He's an American who has lived in El Paso for quite some time now. I know... I've asked him countless times why he chose to move to this chaotic city of El Paso, where you can practically feel the tension hanging in the air. But anyway, moving on... as I mentioned, I think stress is the root of it for you.

Merry Christmas!🙂

Well, fine then. Last night, after going two whole days without any sleep, I figured, okay, let's just try to crash. My dad even gave me some 5 mg Normabel—about ten pills left—so I thought, great, finally. I take one, wash it down with some cooked wine, then another, then a third... I managed to sleep from 1:00 until maybe 2:30, and then I took a fourth. After that? I didn't sleep a wink until morning. Honestly, I don't know anymore. Please, tell me—is it just me, or is insomnia actually incurable? I really don't want to think about it, even though I suspect I already know the answer... Is there truly no cure for this other than these pills? Are we ever going to sleep normally again?

Kenneth Scott41, listen, I’m dealing with a heavy mix of major depression, social anxiety, panic disorder, you name it...
I actually manage to keep all that chaos under control using Effexor XR 150 mg plus Sulpiride 200 mg.
Right now, things are a bit rough—I'm unemployed and living with my parents, who honestly can't stand being around me. I've already submitted my paperwork for some small business grants, so fingers crossed I can finally open my own little coffee shop. It's funny, because whenever I'm working my tail off 24/7, all these issues and the stress just... vanish. I function perfectly fine when I'm busy.
But lately? I’ve spent the last four days curled up in fetal position in bed, only getting up every few hours just to step outside for a cigarette.
I think it's time I go see a local psychiatrist here in town.

shadowbear9, I was on Zoloft for a while myself.
It was absolutely terrible—you can check my old posts if you don't believe me. The only thing was, I slept like a rock; I spent the whole day just counting down the minutes until I could crawl into bed and spaaaaaaave.🙂
Thankfully, I don't really struggle with insomnia. Sure, there are nights when anxiety keeps me up for a few hours, but it’s not a regular occurrence.
My main fear is that my mom has been dealing with insomnia for years now, and since it seems to run in our family, I'm praying to God that her chronic sleeplessness doesn't pass down to me.🙂
Especially considering the depression.🙂

But again, for me, that medication was awful. I gained weight like a balloon, felt like I was constantly in a fog, did nothing but sleep, and stayed just as high-strung as before—if not worse.
I'm on Effexor now and I feel good.🙂

My issues are pretty much identical to yours, though I don't deal with the social phobia part. I'm on the exact same regimen, too. 🙂
I have to say, once the Effexor finally kicked in after those first few weeks, it practically brought me back from the dead. It really did.
Like you, I'm currently living with my parents, and I know our relationship isn't exactly great; I'm painfully aware that I'm a burden and that they're just waiting for the day I finally move out.
But honestly, how am I supposed to do that? How can I move out when there's no work available!!!😠

What even is Misar SR? My doctor put my grandpa on it to help him sleep, and now my mom's asking if she can start taking it too.🤷
