Anthony Lopez8 said:It was actually quite the opposite—I commented on your post specifically because of the context you provided (you were responding to blacx and disagreeing with them, only to then bring up those points). I walked away with the impression that you were trying to suggest these medications aren't effective—or, as you put it, that they're "crap"—simply because they didn't work for you personally. I cannot agree with that logic, as I believe anxiolytics and sedatives are definitively among the most effective psychiatric medications available; after all, they fulfill their exact intended purpose.

Yes, we are all aware that medications aren't exactly "healthy" for the body, but most of us will still reach for an Advil when a headache strikes. The reasoning is likely simple: the perceived health risk is far less significant than the unnecessary suffering we would endure if we chose to forgo the medicine.

Regarding the physicians, I mostly agree with you there—if a psychiatrist prescribes a medication that you don't actually need, or if you actually require something entirely different, then it seems obvious that the failure lies with the doctor, not the drug itself. 🙂

I get it... I guess I worded that a little poorly... or maybe I just didn't express myself very well.. 🙂

Edward Long4 said:Hmm, Ambien... after my heart surgery a few months back, nothing could get me to sleep... (check my old posts for the details) but anyway. I took Ambien for three days and, I kid you not, it felt like I had downed 100 liters of coffee. I literally grabbed two boxes, took them to my doctor, and told her, "This stuff is pure garbage," excuse my language... Honestly? If you want to sleep, my advice is meditation, watching what you eat, and long walks... it actually works...

It isn't crap to me,🤷 though I suppose everyone reacts differently, so I agree there. For me, since starting Cerson, it feels like I'm on needles. What I was trying to emphasize is that even higher doses don't keep me asleep anymore, whereas before, just two pills would do the trick. I suspect I'll have to ask my cardiologist for a replacement for Sanvale, but maybe just something short-term to break this tolerance. I honestly don't even know what other hypnotic is similar to it?
I do agree that meditation is incredibly effective, but frankly, for most people, it’s just too difficult! Every time I try to meditate, I just fall asleep...🙂it just exhausts me mentally, so I don't really bother with it much...

Have you ever considered using antipsychotics to manage severe insomnia?

redranger2 said:Honey, I'm here and I'm doing fine, though I have certainly endured a hellish stretch with
my nerves. Fortunately, I managed to pull through once again.😁

How much Olanzapine are you taking?
I suggest you wait a little while, as there is a distinct possibility your psychiatrist will simply increase your dosage. Don't go
making any adjustments on your own.
It would be ideal if the Olanzapine or perhaps another antipsychotic could assist with your insomnia,
because those standard sleeping pills are notoriously hard on the nervous system. My psychiatrist would never
permit me to take Sanvale or anything similar, and there is certainly a reason for that.

I take 2.5 mg twice a day in the evening. Don't worry, I'm not messing with anything without talking to my doctor first. Though, I don't actually take them until 6 PM. I was on Sulpiride 200 for a long time and it really helped me feel better during the day. But sleep? Total nightmare. Anyway, I'm heading in to see her next week because honestly, this stuff isn't doing squat right now.

What happened with you, though? What's been going on for so long? You can always shoot me a DM...

Last time I saw my doctor, I practically had to fight her just to get two 30-count boxes of 10 mg Ambien and two packs of 0.5 mg Ativan, and now she thinks she’s gonna "cure" me with this? I used to be able to knock out in two hours on 2-4 Ambien, 3-4 Ativan, 2 Xanax SR, and 2 Tramadol—bam, asleep. Done. What next, should I just ask to be admitted to the hospital so I can stay on pure morphine?
I'm definitely going to go talk to my psychiatrist earlier than planned.

And how are you holding up regarding your liver after slamming that many meds in a single day? Are you actually getting regular blood work done to monitor it?

Edward Long4 said:HONEY, Vega, sorry I haven't been on here in forever! You're probably already taking the Zoloft by now, and honestly, I really hope you're doing alright and that it's helping. So, get this—my doctor told me just the other day that it’s finally time to taper me off the Zoloft, and oh my god, I have been waiting for this moment. I feel amazing. Psychotherapy helped a ton, and my PSYCHIC has been absolutely FANTASTIC lately... so it's not just about the pills, there's a lot more to it, and progress with your PSYCHIC depends on so much stuff... good luck, sweetie... fingers crossed for you!

No way, I spent twenty days taking half of a 50 mg dose and I didn't feel any better than before, so I just quit; perhaps I should have pushed through it.

Physically speaking, I’m officially and mostly fine, if you don't count my knees and heart acting up a bit, my neck being trashed from too much time behind the wheel, or my ribs protesting after hauling heavy kegs around a bar... I could probably keep listing things, but honestly, nothing's really broken.

They just need to fix my head.

Matthew White4 The user states:
I take 2.5 mg once every evening. Rest assured, I am not making any adjustments to my regimen without consulting my psychiatrist first. That said, I don't actually take them until around 6:00 PM. For quite some time, I was on Sulpiride 200, which provided a noticeable sense of improvement during my daylight hours, yet sleep remains a massive, ongoing struggle for me. Regardless, I plan to check in with my doctor next week because, frankly, this current course isn't doing anything at all.

What on earth happened to you? You’ve been gone for such an incredibly long time. If it's easier, we can just move this to a private message.

It’s such a negligible starting dose that it’s hardly surprising you aren't feeling any drowsiness just yet.
You should certainly reach out to her and tell her straight up that it isn't working, so she can finally make a decision.
How much of an impact will this actually have on you? You need to remain persistent, because once you finally tackle the issue head-on, everything changes.
Once you finally sort out your sleep, those miserable Sanval prescriptions will become a thing of the past.

What happened to me is something I wouldn't dare discuss in public, nor would I ever consider sharing in a private message; the sheer weight of it is simply too terrifying to put into words.
You might find yourself reliving it all over again, which could just as easily end up unsettling me once more, or perhaps even you.
It really isn't necessary. The only thing that truly matters is that everything is fine now. 🙂

From what I understand—at least according to my primary care physician—they aren't allowed to prescribe hypnotics or anxiolytics beyond the recommended dosage. In practical terms, this means there needs to be a month-long gap between one 30-count box of Sanvale and the next. I don't know if that's a hard rule, but once, she tried to prescribe me Apaurin to take as needed, and thank God I already had some at home. When she attempted to write a new prescription for a different diagnosis—a pinched nerve—she actually turned her computer screen toward me to show that the system wouldn't even let her click the button.

That is why, if you feel your Psychic believes you require higher doses, you should ask them for a private prescription. Most of these medications aren't particularly expensive anyway.

shadowbear9 said:Since my doctor carelessly prescribed me 5mg of Sanval instead of the 10mg I actually need, it seems Sanval has found a new rival—either my physician is incompetent, or the medication itself just refuses to work at all. I’ve taken it for three days now, and honestly, what else can I even say? It's been an absolute disaster... I suppose all I can do is pray for some sleep...

You might want to try a different hypnotic. I am fairly certain Dormicum would do the trick for you, though you should consult a Psychic to get the prescription written. It isn't on the standard formulary, but it isn't expensive either, just $8.25 ten pills per box.

I don't think you should have stopped. These things don't even really kick in—like, hit their full stride—until after about three weeks. For me, it was a total lifesaver. Like I mentioned before, doctors were throwing all kinds of meds at me, like heart surgery prep or whatever, back before they actually figured out what was wrong with me. After all that chaos, my anxiety was through the roof... I mean, can you blame me? My nerves were shot. Anyway, this psychiatrist is seriously wonderful and helped me out big time. I was on Prozac for six months... took it in the morning on an empty stomach, which worked best for me. Now, I'm not taking anything except my heart meds and anticoagulants... so... yeah... I'm just hoping it stays that way. The only thing still messing with me is these crazy nightmares. I dream about these weird, surreal stuff🙂 but hey, at least I'm sleeping and not constantly miserable...

Honestly, I have no clue what else is similar... I took it back then and never touched it again... and like I said, I can sleep now... but the dreams? I don't even know. Is it like people dreaming absolute nonsense, and just nonsense upon nonsense, levels of stupidity that shouldn't even be possible???? 😂 Most of all, Zoloft gave me anxiety and nightmares... the anxiety and panic attacks went away, but the dreams stayed :P so I'm actually curious—what kind of dreams are you guys having? Do you wake up feeling like you're in a coma??

I’m trying to figure out which antidepressant actually works best for anxiety. Like, the heavy-duty kind. I feel like I saw someone mention a specific one on the last few pages of this thread, but now I can’t find the post for the life of me 😠

Anyway, my appointment is on January 28th. Honestly, I'm pretty nervous about starting a new regimen. Last time I tried meds, I just felt like a total zombie, and yet the anxiety and depression didn't even budge 🙄

Honey, it’s difficult to pinpoint which antidepressant works best for anxiety; the only one that truly succeeds is the one that actually works for you.
It might actually help you. Take a friend of mine, for instance; a single dose of Ladiomila puts him right to sleep, yet for me, it does nothing but leave me wide awake and restless. There are simply no universal rules when it comes to this stuff.

What kind of medication were you taking before that left you feeling like such a zombie?
Don't let the prospect of future treatments weigh on you; they are designed specifically to provide relief and help you move forward.
You simply have to find the one that actually fits your life, rather than settling for something that only serves to make things worse.🙂

Ever since I started taking Q-pin, I’ve been having such ridiculous dreams that it feels disconnected from
my own brain. In one particular dream, I was actually being interviewed by the President of China, who
ended up kicking me out of the room simply because I didn't speak Chinese.
The rest of them are far too nonsensical for me to even bother recounting. 😍

risset + seroxat + Akineton + Helex 🙄
3 + 1 + 2 + 5 = 11
(that's the order I listed them above)

Honestly, I just want something that helps without nuking my emotions. I'd much rather feel sad when things actually suck than be some mindless zombie who can't even cry or process anything, while everything just eats away at me from the inside.

When I finally stopped my meds, the flood of emotions was honestly terrifying. It hit me how much I'd forgotten what being happy even feels like.😲

Though, once I tell my doctor how bad it's been, I'll probably get prescribed something even heavier because the way I describe it sounds pretty grim. But the thing is, I just need a tiny bit of help to get back to baseline. I can handle the rest on my own.🙂
I don't need a motorized scooter to carry me through life; I just need a little crutch to help me walk steady on my own.😁

I took 200 mg about 12 hours ago and honestly, I'm still just sitting here praying for some sleep like everyone else does

I actually think it might be better to split it up—maybe 100 mg in the morning and 100 mg at night? That way you aren't feeling like a zombie all day. I was really hoping the grogginess from one big 200 mg dose would have worn off by now, but nope, still feeling it!
