Hey, it's me again... so, basically, I haven't touched my Zoloft in about 20 days now. Yesterday, I was heading out into town, right? I get into my car, and there's this woman just standing by my door, smoking, with her door wide open too. She sees me trying to get out, I start the engine, but she doesn't budge—not even an inch. Honestly, my blood just started boiling. I ended up lunging out of the car and snapping at her like, "Are you actually stupid? Can't you see I'm trying to leave? I'm honking the horn and you're just sitting there like a deaf, blind idiot!" I was absolutely losing it, just pure rage, nerves through the roof... hmm... Is this because I stopped the Zoloft? Should I give my therapist a call... or is this just how I am now?? I mean, I’ve always been a bit high-strung, but this level of crazy is new since I quit the meds... hmmm... I don't know, was that reaction totally normal or what...

I took 200 mg about 12 hours ago and honestly, I'm still just sitting here praying for some sleep like everyone else does

I actually think it might be better to split it up—maybe 100 mg in the morning and 100 mg at night? That way you aren't feeling like a zombie all day. I was really hoping the grogginess from one big 200 mg dose would have worn off by now, but nope, still feeling it!

I actually take an ADHD med that's super stimulating; it hits those norepinephrine neurotransmitters so I'm wide awake in the morning. But lately, I've been using Ambien to sleep because after I started taking Tegretol again, I had this crazy itchy allergic reaction—so we cut it immediately. Honestly, Ambien is absolute magic for getting a solid night's rest.😉

In your case, Zoloft should probably help perk you up in the morning if you only took the Tegretol at night. If it doesn't, you should definitely chat with your doctor about maybe bumping up your Zoloft dosage a bit.

Totally normal... honestly, I would've done the exact same thing.

It looks like this might be an option for insomnia, so I plan on consulting with my psychiatrist about it. I am curious to hear what your experience has been like, or if anyone else here has tried it. It will likely require an international order.

Hey there,
I've been on Effexor for about ten days now. Every single time I take a pill, I get hit with this intense nausea that lingers for anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour. Is this actually normal? Has anyone else dealt with similar side effects from this medication?

Effexor is an antidepressant, and just like any other antidepressant, you might experience side effects during those first few weeks while your body is adjusting to the medication. Things like headaches and nausea are pretty common occurrences early on.
All of this information is listed in the patient information leaflet inside the box, and you can easily look it up online as well.
The most important thing is that if these side effects become too intense or start interfering with your daily life, you should definitely reach out to your doctor to discuss it.

Thanks for the advice. Honestly, I'm doing okay for now; I think I can power through it. I know most people deal with all sorts of weird side effects when they first start, so I’m assuming this is just part of the process. Usually, I just lie down for a bit after taking the pill, and that helps... I'm just hoping it all settles down in a couple of weeks.

I'm not on that specific antidepressant myself—I'm taking something else entirely—but I definitely went through something very similar. For me, though, the feeling didn't strike right after taking the dose, but rather about six or seven hours later. It seems like these side effects are just part of the process; personally, my nausea was at its absolute worst during those first two weeks, but now that I've been on it for a month, almost all of the side effects have finally cleared up.
It should eventually subside with time.

That's great news... if it really settles down in about two weeks, that actually makes me feel a lot better. I don't know if I could keep taking them if I felt like this constantly. See, for me, it only lasts about an hour at most, then everything clears up—I don't deal with any nausea later in the day. As for the other side effects, I've lost my appetite, but honestly, I don't mind that too much.😍

Well, yeah, you just have to hang in there; it’ll pass eventually.
I’d love to hear from anyone else regarding how this stuff affects their appetite or weight. 😁
For my part, my hunger levels seem mostly the same, yet since I started the medication, I’ve managed to drop about six or seven pounds. I really don't see any other explanation besides these pills, especially since I don't hit the gym and I tend to indulge in way too much chocolate and sweets... though, I suppose it’s entirely possible it’s just a coincidence. 🤷

As for me, my appetite has completely vanished. Normally, I'm a huge foodie; I'm constantly hungry, often to the point where I'll actually get out of bed in the middle of the night just to grab a snack. I don't struggle with being overweight, but I have to admit, it's a massive relief not to feel that constant, overwhelming urge to eat all the time. Honestly, if someone didn't remind me, I'd probably forget to eat lunch entirely.😁

So, here we are...😁 I’ve been taking Effexor XR 150 mg twice a day, but I recently had to go in for a follow-up because things have honestly taken a bit of a turn for the worse lately. My doctor told me she couldn't just bump up my dose of Effexor XR 150 mg any higher.
Instead, she decided to layer in some Zoloft 50 mg along with Zeldox 40 mg 2 x. this Zeldox.
This Zeldox is pricey enough to cost more than $267, and even the Zoloft isn't exactly cheap, though I suppose I don't really have to worry about the bill myself since I'm covered by 🙂.

I was actually pretty apprehensive about starting the Zeldox because I know how heavy it can hit, but at 40mg, it seems to be hitting that sweet spot for me—I haven't struggled with insomnia at all. As for the Zoloft, it feels like it’s lifted my spirits a bit; I'm feeling significantly happier... I guess you could say I'm catching some good vibes.😁

It looks like my therapist might have actually hit the nail on the head regarding what I need.🙂

Man, now I’m actually starting to consider trying that Zoloft myself.😍
I'm not exactly feeling those "positive vibes" yet since switching to Zoloft from Effexor, if I'm being honest. That said, there is a silver lining: I’m definitely crying a lot less. The depressive thoughts haven't vanished—they're still there—but they aren't quite as heavily weighted by those overwhelming, crushing emotions anymore. It's a bit more manageable, at least.

I honestly don't feel anything, nor am I noticing any real changes 🤷 Since I started taking Febram, I suppose I've become more open toward people again, though I can't say for sure. As for the Eli Lilly, I guess it’s killed my appetite—I have absolutely no desire to eat, I can barely manage a meal. Regarding my mood... nothing special to report. Sleep? Absolutely ZERO.

I haven't touched any antidepressants for maybe 3 or 4 months now... just stuck on Xanax at 3 x 1mg... Really want to get myself off these benzos once and for all 😁

So, I started back on Eli Lilly (escitalopram) today. Started small with 5mg, planning to hit the full dose in about a week... Honestly, I thought I didn't even need the AD stuff because Xanax is just so heavy-duty it masks everything... But then, yeah, obviously, I felt all those lovely little waves of euphoria and depression that come with benzo use... Been on Xanax for 4 years, which is a killer med, by the way, but man, the aftermath is real...

Got an appointment in 10 days to figure out the next steps and how to handle this. I feel like I pretty much know what I'm doing, but hey, it’s always easier when some "expert" gives you the green light...

Fingers crossed that the Alicia helps me ride out the withdrawal... It's gonna be quite a show 😁

Anyone have any experiences with Seroquel?
Does it cause weight gain? 😁

Seroquel has been a real lifesaver for me, honestly; I’m still on it. And yeah, the weight gain is definitely a thing.
It feels pretty heavy when you first start, but I suppose you eventually just get used to it...

To follow up on what shadowbear9 was saying about Zoloft... if you were taking that too, you must have been a real handful😁
I guess I’ve just always been wired this way, though; there’s just no chance of anyone pushing me around. I won't allow it.
The only real issue I have is how thirsty I am—my mouth is constantly bone-dry. My psychiatrist actually mentioned how many of her patients rave about combining Effexor and Zoloft. For me, that sounds like a perfect combo, except I’m also taking 100mg of Seroquel on top of it. So, I suppose I really am shoving quite a lot of chemicals into my system...😁

It hasn't caused any issues for me; I’ve been on it for about two and a half months now, and I’ve only gained a single pound.
Before this, I was taking Vera, and that definitely caused me to put on 25 pounds. Once I
finally stopped taking it, the weight just fell right off—I lost about 13 pounds in a month, and while I'm still up 13 pounds from my original baseline, it doesn't really bother me.

I'm not gaining weight either—unless I'm overeating!😁

It definitely caused some weight gain for me, though nowhere near as much as what I experienced with Zyprexa. To be honest, none of the antipsychotics really hit the mark for me, but if I had to choose, I found Seroquel to be slightly more effective than the others.
